TS1630 My iphone4 speakers will only work when I receive a call or factime, but for nothing else. Why?
My Speakers on my iphone4 will only work when I receive a call or facetime, and are muffled when an alarm goes off. Other than that, I have absolutely no sound from anything- text, music, videos, games, etc. UNLESS I use headphone. My phone will vibrate with text messages, though. When I try to turn up the volume on the side, it doesn't register any bars- the space for the volume boxes is blank. Also, there is no volume bar in my music when I try to turn up the volume. I have tried restarting my phone numerous times, I have also checked and rechecked the switch on the side to no avail. Does anyone have any troubleshooting ideas or know what might cause this?
I tried this and noticed a little green inside the charging port. I panicked thinking it was corrupt, but found out if you lighting moisten the toothbrush with alcohol and gently scrub (with the power off) you can remove the green. I started inspecting one of our charging adapters, which had been giving us trouble, and it was very green inside. Not sure if it can transfer from one to the other?

Try a reset: Hold the home and power buttons at the same time until the Apple boot logo appears. No data will be lost. If that fails, the battery may have gone kaput.

Try the basic troublshooting steps described in the User Guide, Appendix B: Resart, Reset, Restore using backup, Restore as new.

My iPhone 4 is 3 years old, and recently the Flash will only work WHEN it wants to... Anyone got any ideas what I need to do? Does it need to be repaird in an Apple store? if so does anyone know roughly how much it would be? Or would a simple Restore work?

I'm guessing that you'r not buying a new edition of the Adobe Suite 5.5.
Apparently Adobe haven't been awake to make sure the 5.5 is 100% compatiable with Lion. However, I do believe it's only a few minor troubles you will experince and Adobe constantly update their software to adjust to Lion.
You should go to Adobe.com and see the list of known issues.

I just got the iPhone 5. It's completely synced and working. All my contacts are loaded. However, caller ID is not working when I receive a call or a text. Can anyone help me out with this?
Well, assuming all of the above, Notifications, etc., it just might be time for a visit to the Apple tore genius center for a session with the techs. See if it is a fault in the hardware or just an iOS reinstall is the answer.
One more thing you could try, backup so you have a record of content, then restore to factory conditions be an Erase All Contents and Settings. Then restore from the backup you just made. That has helped some with WiFi problems, may be it would work with your problems.
But with that behavior of another app with problems, the geniuses looks like a less stressful thing to do. -
Time Capsule Airport
Hello to all, good day, sorry my english google, but it is the tool I have at the moment. I'm having trouble with my Time Capsule Airport, I made all the settings according to the manual, but there has been a connection problem with my iMac. When I finish my work I turn off the imac and then again when they return to work and care, it can not connect to Time Capsule Airport, making it impossible to remove the files and make back up by Time Machine only works when I turn off and turn on the Airport Time Capsule , but I think this may end up with the unit. What can this happening and how to solve? Thank you.

In the airport utility bring up your Time Capsule.

Please also make sure you are set to ipv6 in your wireless or ethernet .. whichever is used.. and do tell which.
This is wifi in your computer.
The following are important..
DO not use long names with spaces and non-alphanumeric names.
Use short names, no spaces and pure alphanumeric.
eg TC name. TCgen5
Wireless name TCwifi
Use WPA2 Personal security with 10-20 character pure alphanumeric password.
read apple instructions to help with TM and TC.. they did finally admit it has issues in Mavericks.

Ford Sync and my iphone4s are having one major issue. When I receive a call, it goes into privacy mode. I have been on Ford's web site and no one knows the answer. It is just when I receive calls. What to do? I have used a Blackberry Storm 2 in this same vehicle and no problems.

I decided to try to do two things this morning to resolve this privacy problem. The first is, I restored my wife;s phone from itunes--in spite of the fact that the Apple tech at the Genius Bar in Tampa said that reloading the firmware is not the problem and it must be Ford. This took about 15 minutes to download, restore and verify. One must resist the temptation to disconnect the phone because I had a popup by the system tray ( I'm using Win7) that said I can now use the phone but itunes was still doing stuff so I just let it do it's thing until it (itunes) told me to use the phone. Went down to the car and my privacy issue is resolved.
I also went to syncmyride to download the version checker. A word of advice this does not work well if at all on google Chrome. I went to Explorer and it worked fine. I was on a chat line about a week ago and was told that google Chrome will work with syncmyride.com. So much for their knowledge. -
i am having problems watching videos. it freezes when i watch you tube or netflix. the audio will work but the video only works if i move my mouse . how do i fix this
You are missing two plugins required to achieve your goal. Download [http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/ Adobe Shockwave for Director] and download [http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/ Apple Quicktime] You need the latter plugin to support Shockwave.
Similarly, you can watch youtube in HTML5 now instead of Flash. All you need to do is to sign up to the HTML5 trial by clicking the link at the foot of this page: [http://www.youtube.com/html5 HTML5 Trial Signup] You don't have to fill in any forms.
But please check your plugins at [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/ Plugins Check] site. Some of the others might be out of date. -
IChat only works when I make phone calls??
Ok, so this is getting absolutely ridiculous. My ichats constantly disconnect after about 30secs each and every time i start a conference from my Macbook Pro in the UK to my parents iMac located in Norway. Both running Leopard 10.5.5 and with the latest software upgrade (including the ichat/quicktime 7.5.5 fix released on 17nov)
I've got a Netgear wireless router DG834G with latest firmware installed.
I've opened up all the ports on the router recommended by apple. I've done this while UPnP is off. I've also tried turning on UPnP and closed the ports.
We've both tried setting bandwith limit to 500, and quicktime streaming settings to 1.5mbps with no luck.
Internet sharing is off on both sides.
Both tried ports 443 and 5190 in ichat prefs.
I've tried turning "Respond to Ping on Internet WAN Port" on and off in the router setup.
I've tried the connection through Ethernet instead of wireless.
We're both logged in with AIM accounts.
NOW, the interesting bit is this: when I make a phone call on my landline from the UK to Norway and start an iChat conference, it works like a dream! Smooth crisp video and audio and no interruptions! As soon as either of us hang up the phone, our ichat connection freezes and we both get the error -20 (no audio video for 10 seconds etc..) It is as if our phone has opened some sort of direct connection by which our video chat can travel alongside?
Same thing happens to audio chats.
Connecting to [email protected] however, works fine.
My internet connection is going through the Netgear router to a Time Machine (set to bridge mode) providing me with the wireless connection. I'm with Toucan ISP in the UK.
So basically, what we were trying to avoid in the first place (making expensive phone calls) is now the only option to maintain a video conference. So much for convincing my parents how reliable their brand new expensive mac is.
Please if anyone can make sense of this I'd be very grateful for your help!I agree with Defcom that a Dodgy Micro-Filter looks like the first choice to check out.
I also can't see that you disabled the DOS or SPI setting on the WAN Page in the Netgear.
DOS can see the amount of data iChat sends as an Internet Attack and will cut the one port that the data is being Streamed on to protect your Internet Connection.
SPI checks to see if the data is "Valid" and iChat seems to be able to send data faster that it can cope. On some Devices DOS is also a part of any SPI firewall it may have somewhat adding to the issue.
I used o run the Netgear DG824G with the Allowing Pings and Disabling DOS using UPnP.

Phone Volume buttons doesn't work when you receive a call while listening to music
It is surprising to see such a silly and annoying bug. I was listening to music at high volume. Then received a call when the phone was unlocked and on music player. Now the fun started. I cannot reduce the volume by the outside volume buttons where as the volume of voice stays same. Very annoying dis-pleasurable experience. Don't know if it is common on other iPhones but it happened consistently on iPhone6+.
Workaround - If we lock the phone and use the volume buttons then it reduces and increases sound successfully.The point I am referring to is already when I picked the call the controls didn't switch to Phone App. The whole time Phone app is active on the screen volume is not reducing at all. Quirk of the system - there is no soft volume control on the phone app hence user has to use the Hardware side buttons only. When phone app is in focus and in control the volume controls should work. This is definitely a major bug.

My son dropped his Ipod in some water, we put in a bag of rice overnight and it works fine when connected to the computer or docking statioon but it will not hold its charge once it is off the cable & not hooked up, so he cannot listen to it unhooked.. Any suggestions on what to do? Thanks!!

my ipod touch fell into the bath tub a few days ago, i shook out the water and put it in rice, but the screen on it is really very cracked and im afraid it might have really ruined it, it turns on but only when on the dock and as soon as i take it off the dock it turn off the whole screen goes black
Dry it in rice longer. Then try restoring to factory settings/new iPod. If still problem
Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $199 for a 64 GB 4G iPod and $99 for the other 4G iPods. They do not fix yours.
