TS1702 A payment for an app bounced once and now it says my credit card's security code is invalid but it is correct
As it states in the header, it keeps saying my sercurity code is invalid. I know it is correct. I had a billing issue where a payment bounced, which I feel is causing this. A rep at Apple Customer support didnt think this was a problem and that some discrepancy in my billing info was the issue. I somehow feel the bounced payment is the root cause.
Can anyone offer any ideas?
Hi...
A rep at Apple Customer support didnt think this was a problem and that some discrepancy in my billing info was the issue.

How can I fix this problem? I've tried signing out and back in.
I owe them $1.29 too, from a song, so I cannot select "none" as a payment.
I'm not buying an iTunes giftcard, either.... HELP!
I can't even download any free apps, or update my apps.
Any ideas?Look, I understand I still need a card attached to the account. The problem is, it won't accept my card because I only have 87 cents in my bank account right now.
If I had known there would be so much trouble with the iTunes card, I would have just put the cash in my bank account in the morning instead of buying an iTunes card (I didn't expect the banks to be open on Thanksgiving of course).
Apple will only accept cards that have a balance. The balance is so small in my account that it won't accept it as a valid card.
I'm going to have to contact Apple anyway to reset the security questions. That's obvious. Your answers were not exactly helpful. You didn't tell me anything I don't already know, but thanks for trying to be helpful. -

When I go into download an app in the appstore it is saying my billing security code is invalid,It was working fine before.
Same thing happend here. Yesterday I called and chatted with a lady who told me right away that they are having issues with people validating their credit cards. She told me to contact support by email, which I did twice, they replied with the following:
1. Contact your bank or credit card company and ask to speak with the fraud/security department.
2. Tell the representative that your security code is being rejected. Ask them to review your account to see what might be preventing you from using the card to purchase from the iTunes Store. Ensure that they thoroughly review your account until they locate and resolve what is causing the issue.
3. The bank or credit card company will need to remove any holds on your account. The bank or credit card company could also bypass the authorization process.
I tested my card with another trusted service who asked to verify with the security code and it worked fine.
I guess at this point you could call your bank (just in case) or just wait. -
Switched App Store countries, and need to use up credit before switching back?
Contact iTunes support and ask to have the remaining credit deleted from
your account. You will lose whatever credit remains - it cannot be transferred to
another account.

I have a problem with app store , they say my credict card security code is incorrect but it's correct
Did you check to see if your credit card has expired or has been frozen? My dad bought some hardware from Canada and it froze his card because it was an out of the country purchase. He called the bank and they turned it back on.

unable to download apps to my new ipod touch .. message keeps saying my security code for credit card is not valid...please help
Credit card either isn't supported with the purchase or you typed it wrong.
Or just log out, log back in and type again. Could be a system error. -
I gto a bill for games i bought with my itunes card and they sent me a bill for the games i bought and i have no credit card on my account.
How did they send you a bill?
When you purchase an iTunes, Apple/iTunes will send you an email receipt. -

The battery drain issue is really bad for my phone and I thought I would finally get round to downloading the new software...but now I can't. It says it's up to date when I know it's not. I tried re-downloading iTunes but that didn't work, and of course deactivating firewalls and stuff. Can someone help me?
5.0.2 has not been released, thus you can not upgrade.

The message is a catch-all for any discrepancy in your card record. It might be that the ZIP code is not exactly correct, or some other anomaly in your address.

iTunes Store: My credit card's security code or zip code does not match my bank's records -
I didn't have my credit card on my itouch and i put it on to buy one song and then took off the credit card. My mom checked my bank account and I was charged over $20 for something we can't find. So I don't know if someone got into my account or what but I would like my money back.
Hello jumanjet,
Thanks for the question, and welcome to Apple Support Communities.
I understand you are having issues adding payment information to your account.
If your account information does not match your credit card, you may get a message stating "The credit card was declined."
To expand on the above, your billing name or address may not match the address listed on your credit card statement. Any discrepancy in punctuation, abbreviation, or capitalization can cause errors, which might prevent you from purchasing from the iTunes Store. If you moved, or if your zip code changed recently, ask your credit card company to make sure their records are up to date and match exactly what you are entering as your billing information.

Hi. My name is Kim. I was wanting to know if anyone has gone through similar experience. I redeemed a iTunes gift card that was given to me. I'm told by iTunes store to sign in which I do, but then it takes me straight to billing I enter the correct three digit security code, then what happens it tells me invalid Cvv. Could someone please tell me this what does my debit card have to do with my having a redeemed ITunes card to use, and why doesn't let me download my music. I use a iPhone 3GS. Thanks
Hi Kim ...
Might not just be the security code > iTunes Store: My credit card's security code or zip code does not match my bank's records
Apple "verifies" your billing credentials with every transaction.
what does my debit card have to do with my having a redeemed ITunes card
If the total purchase price of the media including any applicable taxes or fees exceeds the balance of the redeemed card, then the difference is charged to your debit or credit card account.
iTUNES STORE - TERMS AND CONDITIONS < re taxes and fees
You don't have to have a credit or debit account setup > Create an iTunes App Store account without a credit card
