TS1702 All my games on ipod are shutting down right when they are started up. What do i do to fix that?

Can yall please help me fix the problem? I have ios 4.2.1 update for ipod 2g.

Have you tried a hard reset yet?  To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
If that doesn't work, try downloading another free app from the App Store.  This has been known to resolve the issue for a number of users.
Otherwise, see this article for more troubleshooting information.

  • Ipod shuffle shuts down PC when put in USB port

    Hello
I found a discussion on this topic from 2006 but there were no solutions.  Hopefully in 2014 there is someone out there that can help me.
I have successfully synced, loaded and recharged ipod shuffle on PC.  But this week I plugged in my ipod shuffle (early generation) into the USB port to recharge, the system shut down, and I got the "blue screen of death". Windows XP blue screen indicated there was some software or hardware that might cause harm to PC.  I had to close PC by pressing button on tower.  I tried couple more times and got same message.  No harm has been done to PC as far as I can tell.  I used the Safely Remove Hardware device and not sure it worked but removed shuffle.  I did do this 2 or 3 times with same result each time.  Ipod shuffle still works.
    Thanks!

I have found the solution.  I installed the most recent updates and it works now.

  • GSD and ONS shutting down automatically when listener is started.

Issue with RAC database Node 2
    OS: Windows 2003 Server (64-bit)
    Problem 1:
After patching Oracle to a higher version i.e from 10.2.0.3.0 P31 to 10.2.0.4.0 P35, the second database node was not starting up properly. When starting, the node hangs with blue screen.
    Cause:
The above problem was because the second node, when starting up the cluster related services,
was not able to communicate with the first node through the cluster interconnect network (heartbeat).
The node tries to ping the heartbeat several times and the node gets evicted from the cluster resulting in BSOD.
We found that several times this type of node eviction had occurred.
Due to several evictions of Node 2, Node 1 locks Voting Disk to prevent from corruption.
NOde 2 again while starting tries to communicate to the Voting Disk to join the cluster.
But since those files are locked by Node 1, Node2 is not able to access those files and this also results in BSOD.
The above information was found out from ocssd logs.
    ocssd.log
    =========
WARNING: clssnmLocalJoinEvent: takeover aborted due to ALIVE node on Disk
WARNING: clssnmRcfgMgrThread: not possible to join the cluster. Please reboot the node.Solution:
The only way to release the lock was to reboot the Node 1. We rebooted the node 1 and the lock was released.
Now both the nodes were able to communicate with the configuration files and there were no BSOD on node 2.
All the cluster related services were started without any issues and the node joined the cluster.
    Problem 2:
After problem 1 got solved, we noticed one more issue with the node 2.
We noticed that in node 2, when listener is started, the GSD and ONS node applications dies.
When we stop the listener, GSD and ONS starts.
Also when I try to start the instance on Node 2, it hangs in the startup command.
Oracle is not able to start the instance. Also the configuration assistants, srvctl etc was not working.
I got information that if GSD is not started, then DBCA,srvctl and other commands do not work.
But how to resolve the issue described (highlighted) in problem 2.
    Please help me....

Hi Bibii and welcome to Discussions,
first of, you have posted in the Mac Pro section not the MacBook Pro section here http://discussions.apple.com/category.jspa?categoryID=190
Anyway, is this really a shutdown or is it just sleeping ?
If sleeping check the Energy Savings settings in the System Preferences for when your MBP should go to sleep when inactive.

  • Mountain lion was shutting down properly at first. Now it continually reboots. how do I fix that?

Mountain Lion 10.8 was shutting down properly at first. Now it just continually reboots.

Sounds like an issue for Lion Community for one, and worth try booting from Windows DVD and run auto repairs.
Did you ever erase your hard drive or update, when you installed Lion? There wre problems with upgrade to Lion 10.7.0 and Windows partitions on systems running 10.6.8.
There are also problems associated with changes in 10.7.4 which is why waiting a week for reports to surface.
When you update OS X just like Windows it needs to reboot into OS X to complete the update. I'm not sure what and why, or whether you are talking about trying to use Lion Recovery mode.
To me it sounds like a partition table, maybe 10.7.4 tried to update or modify something more than just the OS.
And of course make system restore images for both and any OS when it is working and before install updates. OS  X lets you make bootable clone and sparse disk image as well as TimeMachine. Windows will create a restore image of the system also.
    Boot Windows DVD can't hurt.

Windows 8.1 shuts down itunes when I try to access the itunes store.

This will fix it.  It's from another conversation.  Sony Singh posted this.
    Copy QTMovieWin.dll from:  C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
    to: C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
If you need help, let me know.

Same as you would if you bought a pc; copy everything from your old computer to your new one.  Then you can just sync everything from the new computer, as you did with the old one.

  • Its unfair! I tried to download all the games for ipod 3G that the apple community said but all of them needs ios 4.3 . Why is it like that! Can you explain!

I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1.  The hardware prevent unsing a higher version.
    Identifying iPod models
    iPod touch (3rd generation)
iPod touch (3rd generation) features a 3.5-inch (diagonal) widescreen multi-touch display and 32 GB or 64 GB flash drive. You can browse the web with Safari and watch YouTube videos with Wi-Fi. You can also search, preview, and buy songs from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store on iPod touch.
The iPod touch (3rd generation) can be distinguished from iPod touch (2nd generation) by looking at the back of the device. In the text below the engraving, look for the model number. iPod touch (2nd generation) is model A1288, and iPod touch (3rd generation) is model A1318.
To more easily find compatible apps:
iOSSearch - search the iTunes store for compatible apps.
    Vintapps 3.1.3 - paid app.

From the OP: "My old computer got a virus and when that happened all my music was lost. "
They don't have the music on their computer so they cannot transfer the iTunes folder, from the computer to their iPod and then to the new computer. And if they try to enable disk use on the iPod it will erase all the music that is on it. The method you cited is moving the files in a data format using the iPod as a flash drive. It doesn't work if they are in music format. That is why I suggested Yamipod.

  • IPod Touch Shuts down and Wifi stops working

I am having a huge pain in the butt issue. I loved the iPod touch for the first year I had it, after which I had a problem, but that was fine. I was in warranty and got a new one. A year later now, I am having another issue. It seems like the things are disposable! Not too impressed with Apple.
My iPod will shut down on its own every couple of days completely on its own, which I have heard is a common problem, but when I turn it back on, the date is set to December 31, 1969 (I believe this is the beginning of the Unix Calendar?), but everything else appears to be working. When I launch any apps that require wireless, they appear to work fine, but nothing loads. i.e. Safari loads the bar part way, email continually loads, but nothing happens, etc. The only way to get it back to normal is to go into iTunes and do a restore from a backup. I would like to go to factory defaults and start from scratch, but I have a tonne of data on there that I would need some way of getting off safely. I should also mention that when the iPod shuts down, the only way to restart it is to plug it in.
I can't seem to find anyone else who has had this problem. I would appreciate any help!
    Thanks,
    A

Thanks for the tip so far Lucas, but i am stuck at the "Connect to iTunes" screen of the recovery process. when i try to restore i was prompted that "The Ipod Software Update server could not be contacted". I am currently at work so i am wondering if i am being blocked from contacting the server because of the firewall and other network security measures. But again thanks at least i have some level of hope.

  • My ipod keeps shutting down when I'm on exercise equipment

I've had three iPod shuffles shut down this week.  It's very strange.  One was a brand new 4th generation.  I was on an elliptical machine at the gym and it stopped playing.  I never got it started again and it's not charging or recognized by my computer.  I've done everything it says online and it is just dead.  Same thing happened to another 4th generation that is about a year old.  But it has since charged and appears to work, but have not used it on exercise yet.  Then today, I was using an older 2nd generation iPod and it shut down 25 or so minutes into my exercise on this same piece of equipment.  Just went dead.  Could there be some sort of electrical thing going on?  Am I getting sweat into them?  I have the clipped to my shorts and wonder if maybe my body is some how disabling them?

    Hi bw1960,
If you are having issues with multiple iPod shuffles that stop responding during exercise, you may find the following article on resetting the iPod shuffle helpful. You may also want to try using them clipped to a different location, like an arm band, and see if the same issue occurs.

  • My macbook suddenly shut down, and when rebooted, imovie project was completely gone.  No record of it at all.  Have been working on it for days, and it has always been there.  Any way to restore it?  Thanks.

My macbook suddenly shut down, and when rebooted, imovie project was completely gone.  No record of it at all.  Have been working on it for days, and it has always been there.  Other projects are still there.  Any way to restore it?  Thanks.

    I figured it out!!!
Hey guys! Here's what I did that saved my project.
    -SHORT VERSION-
Use the Finder window on your Mac to copy and paste your old project (the one not showing up in imovie) to a new folder so that iMovie will see it.
    -LONG VERSION-
    CONDITIONS:
The project has to exist on your hard drive. To see if it's hiding around somewhere go to:
Home (your name)>Movies>iMovie Library (right click and select Show Package Contents)
In the iMovie Library folder (the default is usually the date) open it to see if your Project is inside. If it is, you are in luck!
    RESTORING PROJECT:
    Open iMovie
start a new folder under the iMovie Library (again, the default is usually todays date)
    Close iMovie
In the finder window (as explained above in the CONDITIONS section) select the files and folders of your project and copy them (in my case these consist of folders called Analysis Files, Original Media, "MYPROJECT", Render Files, Shared Items)
There should now be a folder with today's date in that Show Package Contents folder.
Paste a copy of your project;s files into this folder.
When it is done copying, open up the "Original Media" folder and all of your images and clips should be present.
reopen iMovie. Your project should show up in the Libraries list.
*If your full project isn't showing in the iMovie timeline (mine just had empty bubbles where all my clips and audio should be) try dragging and dropping the clips and images from the project's "Original Media" folder into the import section of your project. Once the files were reimported, iMovie recognized them all and put them back in the correct place for me.
    Hope this helps someone!

  • IPod Nano shuts down randomly and doesn't restart unless connected

This happened to me two days ago. I was working on a pool listening to a podcast, with the iPod in my pocket. I was wearing black pants and it was very hot, so I'm not sure if it's simply an issue of overheating, but what happened was while I was listening to the podcast the iPod completely shut down. I took it out of my pocket and tried to reset it holding the menu and center buttons, but the iPod wouldn't respond to this. The iPod was completely charged the night before so I'm sure this isn't an issue. I took it home and hooked it up to my computer and it worked fine. But today, it did the same thing, listening to the same podcast (TalkRadar) and wouldn't respond to the menu and center buttons again, but it responded to plugging it in to the computer. Something else happened, too, the iPod would turn on and off randomly even while connected to the computer and I would have to unplug the iPod and re-plug it back in. Does anybody have an idea of what the problem is? I want to know whether or not I should send it in for repair.

If resetting or restoring the ipod does not work, take it to an Apple Store. Let the staff examine it. If you have Apple Care, call them.

  • Shut down bug when other users are logged in

    G'day all
I've jut noticed a shut down bug with Leopard. If I try to shut down and another user is active I have to type in a name and password etc. If I do this and click the Shutdown button I get an error message " invalid user name or password - please try again". If I hit "return" it shuts down.
Trivial but a bug none the less.
    Cheers
    Steve

    HI,
Might just be a corruped preference file.
    Locate this file.
    com.apple.loginwindow.plist
    MacintoshHD/Library/Preferences.
Move that file to the Trash and restart your Mac.
