TS1702 apps frozen while updating

while updating apps they have stopped updating and are now "waiting" how can i stop them and try again.

If rebooting doesn't help, (holding down on the sleep and home buttons until the Apple logo appears on the screen) here are a couple of other things to try.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again.

    Hi Kanishk,
Those apps are forever tied to the Apple ID they were purchased under. You can either delete them and re-purchase them, or you can go to Manage your Apple ID and reset the password on the old Apple ID so you can use it to update your apps: Apple - My Apple ID
If you decide to continue to use them under the old ID password, I would suggest that when you reset that password, you change it to be the same password as the one you are currently using. That way when apps need to be updated you will only need to know one password and you won't have to be concerned with which Apple ID is displaying.
    Cheers,

  • Frozen while updating iOS 5.1

My phone has frozen while connected to itunes to update to iOS 5.1 what do I do?

Same problem. When updating to 5.1, my phone went into recovery mode. It won't reset or start; it just says that I need to plug it into iTunes. When I plug it in, iTunes says "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes." Then, when I try to restore, it makes it through the restoration of the software, but when it gets to the part about restoring the firmware, I get the same message as some of you: "The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unkown error occured (1)."
I've tried restoring it with a different computer, changing it to DFU mode before restoring, restoring to the specific ipsw by pressing shift+clicking on restore, re-downloading the 5.1 firmware, updating iTunes, restarting the computer, etc., all to no avail. Note: I do not have a jailbroken phone and do not intend to jailbreak it.
Please, if anyone has found any other fixes (other than bringing it to the Genius Bar), please post them.
I have to say that I'm extremely frustrated with Apple. How can a company get away with releasing a software update that harms the hardware of so many customers' products??

  • Iphone 3g frozen while updating to os 4

my iphone froze while updating to os4. my phone is licensed in india with airtel and it is an official phone. the software got downloaded on itunes and the update was also amost done untill in the last process of restoring i received an error 043... unfortunately i dont remember the exact error but after that its not starting at all. it is not even getting restored an error (9) shows on the screen and if i try to restore it on another computer (1611) error showsup. i have become helpless as apple india has no support service they have asked me get in touch with the subscriber who will send it to their technicians.. till now i have updated to all the new versions but havent faced a problem till date but this is quiet different and no one seems to hv a answer to it.

    Welcome to the discussions,
Apple is not listening, this is a user to user forum. Some people solved the problem by restoring "as new iPhone" without using the backup made prior to the upgrade when running 3.x firmware.
Since I "handed down" my 3G, I did the same and experienced no big difference in the performance after that.

  • TS3274 Apps are frozen while updating for ipad2

I updated all and the apps are frozen and not updating. The update bar hasn't moved

    Hi all
Just after posting my question I saw on the "more like this" box on the right here a topic that answered my concern.
    What a relief !
Thanks to "stevejobsfan 0123 in sunny California. His suggestion to another member was , I quote "Try a reset:
Hold the home and power buttons at the same time until the Apple boot logo appears.
    Worked a treat
    Safe no losses.
Once the ipad2 restarted there was a message saying the apps (which were frozen mid install), could not be purchased at this time , please try again .
    Whew !
My first time here , great forum thanks community

  • Android o2 App crashing while updating

Anyone have an idea on ho I can stop the MyO2 app from crashing on my Nexus 5? It loads, and accepts my pin, and while loading it updates roughly until it gets to my data allowance then stops.. I've uninstalled, re-loaded and nothing fixes it.   It works fine on my old iPhone so not suspecting its an account issue.

Hi I am having the exact same problem on my Nexus 5 like you everything is up to date and every now and then the app updates and can use it for a little while but more often than  not it crashes just as yours does. I have done the clearing cache etc, reinstalled etc and just doesnt want to load. You say it crashes at the data section - you can scroll down whilst it is loading and can see that all the page loads its just on completion it crashes. Do you send a bug report to O2 it is worth doing just so they get an indication there is something wrong. The annyong this is the website does not like the fact that are not using the app which  makes viewing your account fun! Sam

  • HT4623 frozen while updation ios 7

Try t update to new ios 7 and it has been pluged in to pc for already 5 hours
it remains frozen on the screen you see th apple and the white line at about a quarter done
    but it remains there since.

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  Also, if you have IOS-7, read this.

  • Screen Frozen while updating OS X and have INCOMPATIBLE SOFTWARE

I was updating to OS X and received message INCOMPATIBLE SOFTWARE  -- It has been moved to Incompatible SOftware Folder, but the screen is FROZEN and I AM STUCK

    Hi ParamountJon,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If your Mac stopped responding during an OS X update, first see if you can force quit unresponsive applications:
OS X: How to quit an unresponsive application using Force Quit
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3411
If you're not able to force quit applications, you may need to restart the computer by holding down the power button. I recommend performing a Safe Boot when you start up again:
Mac OS X: What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode?
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1564
Safe Mode is a way to start up your Mac that performs certain checks and prevents certain software from automatically loading or opening.
To start up into Safe Mode (to Safe Boot), follow these steps.
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
    Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key.
The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple logo and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
After the logo appears, you should see a progress bar during startup. This indicates that your computer is performing a directory check as part of Safe Mode.
For more information about incompatible software, see this article:
OS X: About the incompatible software folder
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3258
    All the best,
    Jeremy

  • Error (18) from App Store while updating iMovie

    Hi,
I met two errors consecutively from App Store when trying to update iMovie on a MacBook Pro (running Mountain Lion) bought this year. First, it says
"We could not complete your request. There was an error in the App Store. Please try again later. (18)".
    then followed with another error
"These apps cannot be accepted on this computer. Future updates of these apps can be found through Software Update".
Attached are the images (apologies for the resolution). Does anyone have idea why this happens and how to overcome it?
    Thanks,
    Stanly

If you originally installed iPhoto from an iLife DVD, or if it came preinstalled on a Mac that shipped with installation discs, then you can't update it in the App Store. Depending on what version it is, there may be an updater you can use on the Apple Support website. Otherwise you'll have to purchase iPhoto from the App Store.

  • 60Gb IPod Touch  frozen while updating

IPod is frozen 3/4 way through software update.  Next steps?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
