Cannot update my apps? Wrong Apple ID pos up and I cannot change it...requesting solution please?

Was that other apple id used to purchase/download the app? If yes you will need to use that apple id and password to update the app. http://support.apple.com/kb/he37

    Do you have iTunes 10.6.3?
If not, update iTunes first then try again.

  • TS1702 cannot update from app store

    Hi
I have 2 updates in app store and i can't updated.

    - Have you tried using the Spotlight search? Maybe you just can't find it
    - Is it hidden by rRestrictions: Settings>General>Restrictions.
You saying "I tried everthing" provides us no information as to what you actually tried.

  • Sign in to download from the App Store screen has the wrong Apple ID- grayed out. How can I change it?

When I have a software update notification and I go to the 'Updates" tab of the App Store and click 'update',  the flash screen 'Sign in to download from the App Store comes up the the Apple ID is wrong and grayed out so I can't change it.  Where is the bogus Apple ID stored? How can I 'ungray' it to make it editable?
I'm running Mavericks 10.9.4 on an IMAC 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5.

You installed a hacked app, originally from the Mac App Store. It contains the receipt for a different app, downloaded using an account that you don't control. You need to identify and remove the hacked app.
Important: The app you need to remove is not necessarily the one named in the App Store alert. For example, the App Store may prompt you to update "Angry Birds" or "Twitter," but the hacked app may be something else entirely. Don't make any assumptions about which app you're looking for. To find it, you must carry out a systematic search with Spotlight.
    1. Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:
    kMDItemAppStoreHasReceipt=1
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
    2. In the Finder, press command-F to open a search window, or select
              File ▹ Find
from the menu bar. In the search window, select
              Search: This Mac
from the row of tokens below the toolbar. Below that is a popup menu of search criteria, initially showing Kind. From that menu, select
              Other...
A sheet will drop down. In that sheet, select
              Raw Query
as the criterion, then click OK or press return.
Now there will be a text box to the right of the menu of search criteria. That's where you enter the raw search query. Click in that box and paste the text you copied earlier by pressing command-V.
    4. The search window will now show all the App Store products that are installed. Compare those search results with the list of your purchases from the App Store. To see the complete list, you may need to unhide hidden purchases. If any apps were download from the App Store using other Apple ID accounts that you control, sign in to the store under each of those ID's and check the purchases.
At least one of the apps in the Spotlight search results is not among your purchases in the App Store. Move each such item to the Trash, after quitting it if it's running. You may be prompted for your administrator password. Empty the Trash.
Quit and relaunch the App Store. Test.
If you find these instructions confusing, ask for an alternative method.

  • My iphone 4 is asking for the wrong apple id password.. How can i change this?

I have two apple ids. One was made by mistake and now everytime i want to download an app it ask for that apple id that i do not use. How can i make it ask for the one i do use?? help please!

Go to Settings _ Store _ Press the Apple ID button on the bottom.
Log out, and then log back in on the other account.
If you purchased any app on the old account, then it will ask for that password when you update the app.

  • TS1702 Cannot update my apps

My iPhone says I have 9 app updates but every time I try to install them by choosing update all it does not let me!

Is the screen white?   A lot of people have this problem from time to time.    There are tons of threads about this and some people have had success by restoring.
I just wait a few hours and it usually will start working again.

  • I cannot update my ipod 3G (32 gb) NO ONE KNOWS HOW TO FIX THIS.

"iTunes could not contact the iPod software update server because you are not connected to the Internet.   Make sure your Internet connection is active and try again"
This has been the plight of new ipod. I bought an iPod 3G (32 gb) used. It hadnt been updated in quite sometime.
Prior to the 3G, I had an iPod 2nd gen (8 gb) on the same computer. I never had a problem with updating it.
I had jailbroken that iPod (2nd gen) with Green apple and some feature of that disabled updates. (This may be why I cant update)
But green apple is not, nor has it ever been, on my new iPod, soI think the problem lies elswhere.
I have quite literally tried everything.
My internet connection is more than fine, my ipod functions as it should, and I can connect to the itunes store.
It will not, however, connect to the update server.
    Please help.

This was the only thing I couldn't try. This also leads to another problem of mine. I am running off of windows 7 and I am the profile on it. My profile is set to be the admin, but when I tired Resetting the hosts file, it denied me access, saying that I had to seek premissions from the computer's admin.

  • I have changed my apple I.D email, but when download new app my old email address appears. How can I change it to my current apple I.D?

I'm using my iPad 4 and my iPhone 4.

Tap on your account id in Settings > iTunes & App Stores and log out of your account and then log back in and see if that 'refreshes' your account on the device.

  • HT204053 I cannot update my apps on my iPhone. I have 2 email addresses and I now realize I changed my Apple ID from one email to the other. Now I cannot update on my iPhone because it is associated with the original email address. Help?

I cannot update my apps on my iPhone 3. I think it's because I've discovered I have 2 Apple ID's, the original one for iTunes from 2009, and another one I used more recently. I think I must have changed my Apple ID to the more recent email, but my iPhone does not accept any password for the new ID. I have tried changing back but cannot. I have reset passowrds on both ID's 6 or 7 times, but that does not work either. I read I cannot undo an Apple ID, so I have 2, but they are mixed up. Help?

Did you purchase or download the apps with your old ID?  Apps are tied to the ID that is was purchased from.
If it is a new app you bought with your new ID, you can go into settings - appstore- apple id and then log out.
