In a word, yes. In a little more detail.... When you restore from an iCloud backup, you must erase the device and start all over again. There is no other way to access the backup in iCloud without erasing the device. Consequently, you are starting all over again. Therefore, it would also be my assumption that Pages and Numbers will work again and that the deleting apps issues would be fixed as well.
If the documents are not in the backup, and you do not have a backup elsewhere, the documents could be gone forever.

I just want to wish all of the people who regularly use the Imac discussion Forums and have been very helpfull to me and I'm sure to other new mac users. To tell you the truth not only do I dearly love my imac but I am really impressed with all of the help found here on these pages. I have never found anything quite like this in the MSWindows world. Maybe its just the people attracted to the apple product or just a certin felling of belonging. But my hat is off to everyone!!!! For reasons best left unsaid, in a recent rebuild of my iMac andTime Capsule, I lost all my photos. I do however currently have them on my iPad. Is it possible to retrieve all my photos from the iPad back to iPhotos (now Photos) on my iMac?

have the photos on the iPad been taken with the iPad camera or imported using the camera connection kit?
Or have they been synced to the iPad with iTunes?
You can download any photos to your mac by connecting the iPad by USB to to your Mac and import to Phots, but this way only photos from the Camera Roll will be imported. If your photos have been synced with iTunes, you can only mail them to your mac.

You can't reimport pictures synced from your computer to your device back to your computer. You can only import pictures taken by your device, or saved to it, from your device to your computer. If you need to retrieve synced photos from your device, email the photos from the device to yourself. Then download the photos from the emails to your computer.

What country are you in ? If you are in the US then you can only use the US iTune store, and you can't use a Canadian credit card with the US store - a credit card needs to have been issued by a bank in the country where you are.
If you are in Canada then remove your old credit card from your account and then update your country/region and billing address on your account e.g. by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store on your phone and 'view Apple id' on the popup, or via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes

Yes you can delete them. Removing them from the iPad has no effect at all on the Mac.

That's because you can't delete it directly from the phone.
Since you synced not imported those pictures to your iphone using iTunes, you will need to do the opposite and unsync the pictures, in order to remove it from your phone.

Because I have been a Mac user since 1989, I have many, many docs that are created in programs not campatible with 10. 7, so I still use a manual sync with snow leopard and my ipad, not the cloud as it is not available on snow leopard. I am signed on in both places with my one ID and password
