TS1702 Garage Band App is in "waiting" stage. Will not download onto iPhone 4 with updated software (5.1.1) using iTunes with most recent update.

A friend gifted me the garage band application for my iPhone 4. I have updated the phones software (5.1.1) as well as the software for iTunes. However thee app has been stuck on "waiting" for days now.

The issue, as has already been explained is that the version of iTunes on the computer will not work with iOS6.
iOS updates via Wi-Fi have nothing to do with iTunes on the computer and does not care what version is on the computer. Personally, I find it completely moronic to update via Wi-Fi as there is really no option for backup or a restore from backup if the update fails. To me, it seems like a great way for the user to create issues for themselves that do not need to exist.
As there is no officially supported method to downgrade the iOS, the only option left if syncing is desired is to upgrade iTunes on the computer.
I really do not understand why you seem so defensive about updating iTunes. Update iTunes on the computer, then sync the device, if that's what you want.
If that's not what you want, other options include updating apps directly on the device via Wi-Fi or 3G or living with it as is.

If the downloads are stalled or "waiting" - try these suggestions.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again.

Is it possible that in app purchases have been restricted? Also is it possible that there could be restrictions in place regarding content? Could ratings be in place for the magazines?

I am able to access the app store, browse and send/receive mail. so my internet connection is fine. Also my ipad works just fine over the same network.
The app is a very small file. (A flashlight app for iphone)

I purchased mountain lion but it keeps saying waiting and will not download

I purchased mountain lion over a week ago and the file will not download. It stays in a waiting queue and never initiates to even say downloading. I have deleted app attempted reinstall on multiple occassions but no luck. Additionally I have deleted app store cache to try and alleviate any issues but nothing is working. Also I am currently deployed to Afghanistan so a trip to the apple store is out of the question. Also I know my location is not an issue cause it allows me to purchase and install other items just fine. Any insight?

You could pull the app store plist.
That's what I would try first. (~/library/prefrences/com.apple.appstore.plist)
Also, I think the ML is kept in another folder as well. Let me take a look.
Yeah, try pulling the folder inside of the application support folder inside fo the computer libarary.
Go>computer>mac hd>libarary>application support>app store
pull the files inside the "app store" folder to the desktop. If there are more then a few, I would make a new folder on the desktop to drag them into.
restart and try the download again. Delete the download of ML from the applications folder if there is one there.
Make sure you don't delete the files. We might need them still.

Did you try to tap on the icon until it starts to shake and then hit the little cross to delete it?

Garage Band '11, version 6.0.5 will not change key after new project is started

Garage Band '11 version 6.0.5: Cannot change key after new project is started.
It has always worked ok prior to this. And I have had other issues. How do I reinstall Garage Band '11?
I have looked in downloads, but can'ty find any download file. I had upgraded to Mac OSX 10.6.8 couple years back, which included
Garage Band '11, a new ITunes & new IPhoto.

Before reinstalling I'd try HangTime's fix for "oddball" problems and delete the User preferences and repair permissions, see the FAQ:

Garage Band hears my audio signal, but will not record it.

I posted this problem initially with the imprecise heading, "Recording in Garage Band," about midnight last night...so far no response, but it's only 8:00 am. I am almost brand new at the discussion group game as well as being brand new to Garage Band. I had the non-recording problem initially a month or so ago, and aired it in this forum. I got an answer almost immediately, advising me to delete two .plist items and the problem should be cleared up...and as I recall, idid and it was; but a day or so afterward, before I had a chance even to try recording anything, I had a major computer disaster and lost all my saved email, including the directions to the folder containing the offensive .plist gremlins, as well as all my bookmarks and my iPhoto library for the last two years. I'm not really geeky enough to figure this stuff out properly, so I've been reconstructing things pretty much from scratch as best I can.
I've looked for those .plist artifacts since, hoping I might recognize them if I saw them, but no luck. I've screwed up so much already, that I am loath to delete things when I don't know what they are or even where I'm supposed to look for them.

The easiest way to find them is simply search your hard drive for "GarageBand", the ".plist" and ".cs" files will show up in the results.

Itunes app will not load on iphone 4s since update

Since I downloaded newest version ios 7.0.2, on my iphone 4s, the itunes app will not load. Starts to open up then closes.
I have tried:
method to double click home button and swipe to close app
holding home and power button down to shut down and restart
wiped phone and reinstalled
Wish there was way to uninstall the app and reinstall.

Try this open your music app and access the store from there first, once done then you can go to the iTunes store app, try it and see if it works

I purchased a Photoshop app but it will not download onto my iPad. to synch, but this has been no help.

After the app would not download I tried to reinstall several times. I keep getting a popup that says to go to iTunes and synch to install but this has been no help.

Do you have enough room on your iPad for the app?
Has the app downloaded to your computer/in iTunes?
In iTunes, is the app selected as one to be synced to your iPad?

Turn your iDevice off the back on (or you can alternatively reset it)
Make sure you are connected to a wi-fi network
Try and download an app and see if it says 'waiting' (if it does go to step 4)
Go into the App Store app on your iDevice and see if you are currently downloading anything
Then Open up the iTunes app on your iDevice, go to 'More', the 'Downloads' and see if anything is there
If there is download it and if you don't want it you can delete it afterwards (you can't delete it while it is downloading
Go back onto your home screen and your app should be downloading

Can't upgrade iWork 09 to iWork 13, App Store shows INSTALLED and will NOT download

When I purchased a MBP in 2010 it came with iWork 09. Each time I launch either Keynote, Pages, or Numbers it tells me there is a new version available and asks if I would like to install. If I say "YES" I get taken to the app store and each of the apps says "INSTALLED" and does not have a download option.
I tried manually moving /Applications/iWork 09 to /tmp but when I revisit the app store it wants to charge me for the free upgrade.
No idea how to fix this.
I wanted to demo this cool new collaboration feature, but it looks like it will have to wait.

CC desktop app quit responding. It will not let me re-install and update it!

I was getting help thru live chat, but apparently they have all gotten off work now. A tech guy tried to help me get creative cloud desktop app back onto my system, but was not successful.

He thinks it is an issue with permissions, so he had me create another account on my computer, gave me his adobe meeting room chat address, and told me to logoff, log back on under the new account and reconnect to him. I did this, but got no answer. I went back to creative cloud help page and started another chat, and they told me that the tech people are gone for the night now, so I am trying this avenue for any help I can get!
