Help, please. My FB on my iPad crashedseveral times today, afterhich Ihave nosound on my iPad. Have tried all the options I know, such as reinstalling FB, andYou Tube.but still no sound. Can someone tell me what to do ? Many thanks.

You can enable keyboard sounds via Settings > General > Sounds . If they are enabled but you can't hear them then have you checked that you haven't got notifications muted (which will also affect most apps) ?
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. That same switch, right above the volume buttons, can also be set to function instead as a mute button to silence certain types of audio.
If the switch is set to work as a mute button, you can change its purpose to “screen-rotation lock” by tapping the Settings icon on the home screen. On the Settings screen, tap General on the left side, and on the right side of the screen flick down to “Use Side Switch to.” Tap to select Lock Rotation or Mute to set the button’s function. Even if you set the side switch for your preferred use, you can still mute the Mini or lock the screen. Just double-click the Home button, and when the panel of apps appears along the bottom edge of the screen, flick the row from left to right with your finger. Tap the icon on the far left side of the row to either lock the iPad’s screen or mute the iPad’s alerts, notifications and sound effects. Music, podcasts and video are not muted unless you turn the volume all the way down.

To solve some sound problems, just follow these simple steps
1. Go to Settings
2. Tap on General
3. Tap on Reset
4. Tap on Reset All Settings
What this effectively does is to reset some of your Settings to factory default. It’s not a complete removal of settings. It removes all of your preferences for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Do No Disturb, Notifications, General, Sounds, Brightness & Wallpaper and Privacy. It doesn’t affect your data. All of your email accounts will remain intact, as well as any SMS text or iMessages.

hi all i need help i have a creative 5. sound card with digital out only speakers. and when i try and use my mic on a system like msn it will not let me its like i have no audio from it at all. but if i un mute my mic it works fine but i can here my voice any help would be apreciated. I would love to be able to not here my voice in my speakers so as you can see my mic functions but i can here my voice. and if i mute it and try and use on msn i get nothing from it at all. is this because im digital out only but if i switch to analog i cant get sound as my speakers are pure digital. somone help please.Message Edited by cruser92 on 2-0-2005 04:00 AM

well i solved it with a simpl mic head set combo and switching from dig to analog all works great. and im now happy peace all case closed on my end.

My Ipad has lost sound

So my Ipad, 3rd generation, has lost sound. The volume controls have dissappeared on the task bar, the mute button is not switched on. But when I use the side button for volume control, I just get the little messgae sound effects.
When I switch the mute button off and on, it shows full volume, or what ever volume I set it at using the little bar in the settings menu for sound.
I get volume after restating my ipad and entering my password, but then it's gone. I also get sound, when I ask Siri, and she talks when ask her a question. I have even restored the ipad software, but what ever is causing the problem is being reinstalled when the back up loads.
How can I can fix this? Is anyone one else having this issue?

There have been a number of people that have talked about this same issue for weeks now. I have no idea what causes it, not have I seen anyone say that something specific fixed it. If you restored from a backup - like you said yourself - you could be restoring whatever glitch in the settings causes this to happen.
Have you tried resetting all settings? Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.
I reset all of my settings yesterday because I was trying to fix a really weird issue with my Automatic Time Zone setting. It seemed to fix the issue for me. I don't know of it was just a coincidence or not, but it is working properly again for me now.
You will have to go through all of the settings in the settings app and set everything up all over again. You will have to join your home network again. You will have to allow access to all of the apps in the Privacy setting, enable Siri again, Select your custom wallpaper again, reset your brightness level .... All of that stuff.
If that doesn't work, then the next step would be to restore as new and see if the volume comes back, then start adding all of your content back to the iPad.

Install Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion Using Internet Recovery
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Internet Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND-OPTION- R keys until a globe appears on the screen. Wait patiently - 15-20 minutes - until the Recovery main menu appears.
Partition and Format the hard drive:
1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
2. After DU loads select your newly installed hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion. Mavericks: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks and click on the Install button. Be sure to select the correct drive to use if you have more than one.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet
if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

My iPad is freezing and having kernel panics sometimes won't turn on. Help please? (iPad 3rd generation)

Well, my iPad has kernel panics about everyday, when I get on facebook mostly. Basically, any app I get on it will either: freeze and flicker into a black home screen, or it will have a kernel panic and turn off. I am also having problems with it charging. When the iPad is on, it charges just fine. But when it dies and I plug the charger in, it doesn't recognize that it is charging. But, when I take the charger out, it thinks it is charging.

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without be charged again. Also, if you have IOS-7, read this.

Try reset all settings
Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
Note: Data will not be affected but settings for Wi-Fi, FaceTime, Message, Home Sharing, Wall Paper, Sound etc will be reset

HT1766 Please help. My ipad has locked up with Blue "icloud Backup" box permanently on display. Unable to reset. any ideas?

The blue icloud backup notification box has "frozen" my iPad screen. I am unable to clear it. I am currently trying to run down the battery 0% to see if it will automatically reset this way. Are there any other ideas?

A reset should help. Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off button for approximately 10-15 seconds, until the Apple logo reappears. Release both buttons and await restart.

HELP PLEASE, MEDIA ENCODER HAS ME HOSTAGE

I know someone has two easy answers...help, help.
Big Problem one, exporting from Premiere C4, forced into using Media Encoder, which sit there and won't encode from the project/timeline.
The project is even small, 7 minutes, and I just want to me a AVI file and maybe Flash and Media Player. Is that too much to ask.
Then the versioncue.dll, decide to not let me right click in explorer and other links, get a windows error, and again, stuck with nothing.
Please, I will send someone a gift card if they can help me, really. $25-$50...depending on if you have the solutions.

HELP PLEASE. MY GARAGE STOP SOUNDING

I have used the garage band for first time yesterday. i used a few tracks, some digital from the G.Band and a couple of instruments; voice and guitar. I used a few effects. It worked perfectly. But today when i started it on THE SOUND SIMPLY HAS NOT CAME OUT NEITHER FROM MY AUDIO INTERFACE NOR FOR MY INNER SPEAKERS. I have deleted all the tracks, check every volumen from the GB, from the system preferences but nothing worked.
I optimize the computer following the instructions in the tip "help" but still is not working. I dont know what can i do.
The weird thing is that a reestart the computer a few times and in some of them the sound came back but just for 1 try, afterwards it muted off again.
I checked the itunes with a cd and it did sound only through the speaker of the computer but not through my audio interface and my exterior ampli and speakers, wich it is also very extrange.
I have not the clue whats gooing on. Why has suddenly stopped working?
I have read, and the computer has said me at one point that i have added up too many things, but now it does not have any and still is not working.
any help? i will be very thankfull.

Two things:
To play music through your interface from iTunes, you have to select it in the System Preferences, to play from GB, you'll have to go to GB's Preferences.
Regarding the GB problem: As a first step, try repairing permissions with the Disk Utility, in the next step trash GB's preferences (com.apple.garageband.plist) and report what happens!

1.There is a requirement from Customs that the product names should be according to their given norms. For example u2013 Alpha, but the same product should appear like Beta in Commerical Invoice- Any thoughts on how to do it.
2.Provision needs to be given to change commerical invoice without cancelling it.
3.Pro-forma and commercial invoices have the same numbers.

For your 1st question I guess you can use CMIR and pick this in your smartform.
For the 2nd point, changes cannot be made to invoice if the invoice is released to accounting. If you want to make any changes to the price then you should ensure that the invoice document type is configured such that it is not released to accounting upon saving. ************ I tried the option but already, but it will not allow me to change other fields expect pricing, anyways to edit the other fields also.
For the 3rd point, If you want the same number range for both Proforma and commercial invoice, then assign the same number range interval in the invoice document type. ************ how will this work, because they may cancel the f2, but not f8.

Help please, this issue has gotten me to the point of frustation!!!

so i downloaded PC Companion from the SE website, and it installed in my computer just fine...i'm currently running android 2.1 on my xperia x10 and the phone connects to the computer just fine too. the problem is that when i load up the PC Companion the dashboard doesn't load, so all i get is a blank page (i've included an image if it helps you help me). I've spent quite the ammount of time on this forums reading, and i found that there's a lot of people with other problems related to the pcsuite software, and i've found other people have the same problem that i have with this software. As i said, i've read as much as i could before posting this, and i've tried most of the solutions people have posted but nothing have worked for me, so i've just given up and don't know what else to do. Any help would be much apreciated, thanks in advance.

Thanks to Frukttime10 we identified and find a way to solve the problem.
For those who have the problem please do that:
1) Go in the registry (open a dos command and type "regedit"):
     a) Go to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\0" and verify the key 1400 has value 0 (if not change to 0).
     b) Go to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet   Settings\Zones\" and verify that you don't have any "crappy folder" name, as in the attached example http://rapidshare.com/files/454333853/registry.jpg).You should only see folder 0,1,2,3,4. If any other folder with strange name is present delete the folder.
     c) Go to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet   Settings\Zones\0" and verify the key 1400 has value 0 (if not change to 0).

2) Close PC Companion using the option "exit" from systray (right click on PC Companion icon in systray).
3) Re start PC Companion => Your dashboard should now be displayed.
If some of you still have the problem, please export the following registry key and provide it:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
