I've lost the hi rise icon on apple maps. Can't do the flyovers
It used to work - London New York etc. but now all I get is the 3-D icon and grey blocks.
I want the nice rendered 3-D stuff back.
That's a great help. I've updated over ten names including the name of our city (Almaty).
Going further, how do I add buildings? I mean there are no buildings at all.

A huge amount of businesses missing from Apple maps
Hi all,
I like so many other people am posting up about the new Apple Maps that have been forced upon us. I've been aware of the major mistakes on the news, ie misplaced towns and railway stations but I think there is a bigger problem that isn't being as well addressed. That is the massive amount of small scale data that is missing all together. Over the last two hours I've been testing a few places I know very well and had some really shocking results. I live in Sale (Manchester) and we are lucky to have lots of nice restaurants and coffee shops. Out of the six long established coffee shops only one appears on Apple maps! Out of all the many restaurants (40+) six appear. Also many businesses that are on the map with the icons Apple have used are in completely the wrong place.
So I also did a search for pubs in a place called Longridge I know very well and out of the ten pubs one appears as a result but if you zoom in a further three can be seen using the icons. I have also noticed that the M60 doesn't have any junction numbers which made travelling to a venue on Saturday difficult, I ended up looking at Googlemaps through the safari browser but ofc it's now sluggish and difficult to use as its not integrated.
So if Apple maps perform as bad as this across the UK then it's no even close to being as reliable as I'd need it to be, I just don't feel I can trust what it's telling me and that's the worst situation to be in when you rely on a map to get around so much.
I am a huge fan of Apple products but am very aware they are not perfect, but even with the no flash support thing, you know there is a reason behind what they are trying to do. However for the first time in a long time I'm now wondering what the **** Apple are playing at. Surely they must know how bad this software is right? I would love to know how it all panned out, ie did Apple get pushed by Google or did they jump? I mean its just insane, Google Maps is already doing everything the customer want so why not carry on using them? Are Apple so stubborn that they would rather nobble every one of their loyal customers than hold hands with Google. I don't know, if anyone out there has any info on what actually happened here then please post up.
As far as I can see Apple Maps is nowhere near ready (although the 3D cities are very nice) and so I'm really hoping they realise this isn't on.

Now apple is doing the same thing.. if the management has any common sense they will give people to option downgrade (old users) and option to choose between map google and apple maps...
Challenge for apple maps....give your customer choice to choose between maps google and maps apple
then make apple maps so much better that people want volunterily to choose to apple maps?
Is this too much to ask?
Apple are you realizing how much corporate customers you are forcing to move to android phone because of this?

Can I add missing businesses to Apple Maps myself?

Ok I've already posted about the woeful lack of business data in my area on Apple Maps. While we could all moan and complain until the skies fall it won't make anything better.
So I'm wondering, what did apple mean when they said that the more people use Apple Maps the better it will get? Does this mean that we can suggest or add existing businesses to Apple Maps? I sure if Apple came out and asked us to do their job for them they would be lynched but I just wanna get it done and its really bugging me that the information just isn't on there.
While we're on the topic I did search on Yelp in my area and again the lack of coverage is abysmal, yet there is the odd thing like the Cafe Neros around the corner that is on Yelp but not on Apple Maps. I guess I'm wondering who Apple used for businesses in the UK?Hey guys,

Apple map is not showing the paths between two locations as shown in the previous version.
The current Maps app in iOS 6 is from Apple. It is beta software with known issues. The previous Maps app in iOS was from Apple, but used Google as the map resource. There is now a new Maps app from Google available in the iTunes App Store.

Ok so that's not the issue as both have access. Make sure the location is set properly in settings. Try rebooting device and router.

You will need to delete that iCloud account on the device, then create a new one and login with the alternate AppleID.

Is it possible to create video material from the new Apple Maps app? Has anyone attempted this?
I'm interested in creating a mini movie/video of key locations on Apple maps. Can you plot, rotate 3D, flyover a number of locations to tell a story and then download it as a movie? Anyone attempted this?
Unless you deleted the previous version, it is retained in the iWork 09 folder in Applications.
Apple no longer supply the previous version of Keynote (it was part of iWorks 09), but it can be purchased on eBay as a DVD disc.
If you want to remove Keynote 6, right click the icon in Applications and select move to trash.
Keynote 6.1 works well, it has some issues with converting from older version files and has some features missing from the previous version but it is usable and stable, I use it every day without any problems.
Keynote 6.1 does have an inspector, its the side panel on the right.
If it is not in view, click either the Format, Animate or Setup buttons top right on the Keynote tool bar. -
I've just upgraded to IOS6. Google Maps has now gone and replaced by Apple Maps, which I don't like at all, the mapping and satellite image quality is terrible.
How do I get Google Maps back?Only one way, open Google maps in your browser and make it an icon on your home screen, or install Google earth, sorry that's all we can do at the moment. Let's hope they will be doing some updates soon, the satellite images seem to be newer than the ones from Google, but the better resolution is missing.

Cannot get home sharing to work with my new apple TV. Have the latest version of ITunes and the apple TV is connected to my wi-fi network. The instruction page says to go to the Advanced menu option of ITunes and choose Home Sharing. This option does not exist. The closest I can find is under the File option>Home Sharing where my only option is to turn off home sharing. There is no home sharing icon and Apple TV insist that the home sharing is not turned on.

How to I get up to date information in Apple Maps?
I just upgraded to Mavericks and was trying Apple Maps, but the maps are showing parks that haven't existed for 10 years, and are missing businesses that have been in my area for over 10 years?
Is there a way to get more up to date information in Apple Maps?Not sure what you want me to say. Again, the data is as up to date as the providers have it. There's no "cache" or other function you can clear to get newer data. Why the providers, which you can see listed here if you wish:

Is it only me or is someone else also having problems with the Apple Maps? I know it just came out and it's not perfect-perfect.. but this was just weird.
I set my destination to a local Starbucks. The pin drops and it is clearly to the left of my current location. The GPS literally took me in a circle telling me to make right turn after right turn.

IOS 7 Apple Maps bookmarks - no addresses
I type in an address in Apple Maps, a pin appears and I "Bookmark" the pin and give it a name. Then, once maps is quit and relaunched, I can find the new bookmark in the bookmarks list, but there is no address. It just says "Create New Contact, Add to Existing Contact, etc." In IOS 6, bookmarks would always save the addresses. If I save it as a contact, it does save the address, but I'd rather use Bookmarks for some locations (since that's what it's for). Does anyone know why Bookmarks is not saving my addresses?

How can I get rid of Apple Maps and Put the Google Maps back?
I wanted to know how to remove the Apple Maps and reinstall the Google Maps. The Apple Maps is a very inferior programme and not worth the space on the. Computer. It can't find anything. It's a complete waste of time.
So my original question is, how to get rid of it, and put the Google Maps back?CHances are google maps are never coming back as part of the bundled OS. Apple and Google seem to have parted ways (possibly has something to do with Google having their apps on other devices from other manufacturers but no one knows for sure)
Since preinstalled apps cannot be deleted, the most you can do is ignore the icon, shove it back on a back menu page (I have a 4th menu page on my iPad containing nothing but the bundled apps I consider worthless. I just ignore that page and never go there) and then put a shortcut to google maps on your iPad or find a third party map app you like better. -

They will show up when you are in the field to Seach or Enter an Address:
