My hard drive on my computer crashed! This is the computer my ipad was sync with! All my photos of my three girls are on the ipad, but how do I get them transferred to either an external hard drive or to another computer - or just have them all printed - nearly 1000 photos!

Right. You didn't read the post, you only read the title.
The title came from an earlier step in the process when I was posing a question to the systen.
The pertinent part of the question is "How to I back up documents that are stored in iCloud"
That the destination for the backup is NOT my internal HDD should be clear from the rest of the post.
And frankly, even if that is where I want to back up to, that would at least give me two copies, at least giving me one duplicate of the stuff on iCloud.
So please stop wasting my time if you can't answer the actual question: How do I backup content that is stored in iCloud. The destination of the backup is irrelevant.

Settings/itunes and app store. Log out of the ID there and log in with yours. Turn off facetime and imessage if the ID there is not the one you want and activate both again with your ID. If the icloud account is not with your ID then delete that account and start a new one with your ID

I'm trying to transfer an address book from my G4 to my Imac G5 and can't seem to figure out how to do it. I've tried exporting out of one, but the other doesn't read it. These computers are not connected so I'm transferring via cd.

Use "Backup Address Book" in Address Book > File to make a copy then
"Revert to Address Book Backup" on the iMac
I use this for backing up both Address Book and iCal as a matter of course (it is the Apple recommended way in the Help files) I put them into a folder in my "Documents" and clear old copies once a month. If you use .Mac I would certainly recommend it seeing the problems with data loss some folks have had.

If iTunes purchases then transfer them to your iTunes library:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
The sync to your iPhone. Make sure that in the Books pane in iTunes for the iPhone the box that says sync audio books is checked.

You can manually back up through iTunes despite having your automatic backups set to use iCloud, or you can switch your automatic backups to iTunes.
You don't say what kind of computer you have. Here's how to do it on a Mac running the latest OS X and iTunes:
Launch iTunes on the Mac. Make sure it is showing your library (and not the store).
Plug the supplied cable into the iPad and a USB port on the computer.
Next to the "Store" button near the upper right corner of the window, you should now see an "iPad" button.
Click that "iPad" button in iTunes.
Near the top of the window, you should now see a band with the name of your iPad and a number of words (Summary, Info, Apps, etc., ending with "On This iPad"); those words are actually "radio" buttons, and the selected button has an oval outline.
Click on "Summary" to make sure it is selected.
The panel below should include a band titles "Backups".
On the right side, under "Manually Back Up and Restore", click "Back Up Now" to back up your iPad to your Mac.
On the left side, you may choose to switch the automatic backup to this computer instead of to iCloud.

I just bought a new Macbook and the Apple Time Capsule 1 TB. The Macbook came with Time Machine software aready installed and I was able to easily connect and back up the Macbook no problem. Just the click of a button and off it went.
I have now installed the Time Capsule software that came with the Time Capsule device on my wife's iBook G4 and on an IBM Thinkpad with Windows XP. But there is no easy-to-use Time Machine software interface like the one that came pre-installed on my MacBook. The Time Capsule I see on these two computers, but not Time Machine interface. How do I start backing up these two computers to the Time Capsule with out the Time Machine interface? What is the process step by step because I cannot seem to figure it out.

Time Machine is native to Leopard only.
For the iBook G4 (is it running pre-Leopard?), you can upgrade to Leopard and run Time Machine. If this isn't desired, any Mac back up software able to back up to a NAS is fine (e.g. SuperDuper!, Carbon Copy Cloner, etc...).
For the ThinkPad, you need to purchase an XP-based back up app (e.g. Acronis True Image, Norton Ghost) or one that allows backups to a NAS.

There is only one question I want to ask that is how do i back up my ipad to a computer

How do I back-up Organizer tags from one computer to another?

Having successfully restored my PSE6 Organizer from one computer to another as back-up,I wish to keep backing-up. However, I have tried CDs, DVDs,external hard drives and flash discs and the tags are not imported, or rather,just one or two are.
I click ' Select All' when I import, the ticks are shown, but it does not work. Thank you,

I need full back-up as I need Organizer for my work, so use 2 computers. I initially backed-up my entire catalogue on an external hard-drive. Then on the new computer, I used 'Restore'. Although this took 14 hours, it worked, with all tags and captions, although not Albums.
Now, I wish to continue to back-up not only my new photos, but also the tags. I cannot use 'Restore', as this will apparently delete all those pictures already there. So, first of all, I open PSE6, then, 'Make a CD/DVD' and proceed to save. To transfer to the other computer, I use 'Get Photos or Videos'. Everything is okay, except for the tags. I have also tried just dragging the pictures over to Organizer, with the same result.

How do i transfer my address book from one computer to another

Old computer is XP new compiuter is 7. Mozilla Thunderbird is the email program. Both are installed on separate computers.

On your old computer (XP), go to Thunderbird (TB)
select Address Book
highlight which address book you want (such as Personal Address Book)
from menu bar select Tools then Export
enter a name such as addresses.ldif Use LDIF rather than CSV format!
select a destination folder such as Documents
click Save
copy the file (addresses.ldif) to your new computer via disk, memory card, or even email!
put the file in your Documents folder on the new computer (Win7)
On your new computer, go to TB
select Address Book
from menu bar select Tools then Import
click Address Books then Next
highlight Text File (LDIF, ...)
click Next
select the folder (Documents) and file (addresses.ldif) and click Open
the addresses will be imported
success! click Finish
Notes:
The address book you import will take on the name of the file without the .ldif extension (e.g. addresses). You can rename the file before you import it. Just keep the .ldif extension.
If you want more than one word in the name, use an underscore instead of a space (e.g. Personal_Contacts). Don't use spaces! They really complicate things.
