Hi! I just got my first Macbook, after years of having PCs crash on me all the time. I'm very excited and very satisfied with it so far. Help! Took mac to store today as DVD stuck in drive- 3 hour round trip!!! Told it was fixed and it now won't even switch on :( I press the on button and all I get is a continuos loading symbol and then it shuts down . Worse state than it was before :( :(

I'm afraid you did an error when erasing your hard-drive, this has automatically erased the "local recovery". In order to pass-by this, you must use a former Mac OS X installation DVD (such as Snow Leopard 10.6.3) and then when updated to 10.6.8 you may access the Mac App Store to recover the Yosemite Installer and proceed to a fresh "update" OR creating a Bootable USB Installation drive with DiskMaker in order to alway get a installation copy.
I also suggest you to create a USB Basic Operating System (you must select a local USB device to install Yosemite or whatever OS you want) with only the base operating system to launch your computer in case of Main Operating System issues.
Given the amounts of issues reported by users with 10.10.2, I command you to download 10.10.2 version to get a stable OS working.

but instead of pressing the shift key along with the ' underscore ' key (-_), I pressed the ctrl key and my firefox homepage shrunk to where the print was unreadable. How do I bring the homepage back to where it should be?

I updated to 5.0 beta and the page on the screed is smaller than the previous version and I cant get the zoom to work to increase the text and pictures.

the text and pictures is very small or at leat much smaller than in the prior version and the zoom will not make it bigger.

I'd try starting Firefox in [[Safe Mode]]. If you don't have the issue while all of your add-ons, extensions, and themes are disabled, you can try adding them back in one by one until you find the culprit.

Corrupted file in the applications folder and i cant get in

I have a half uncompress file in the applications folder and it wont let me in to that folder, not even as a root user, it just closes the folder and opens desktop instead, everything else is working fine now, i hope i just need to delete that file. (all this is happening in my imac 27" late 2011 mountain lion)
the file is a game that does work in my other machine (macbook pro early 2011 mountain lion)

I was cut off from the support chat and can't get back on re: re-installing PS after uninstalling

I'm using a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014) and CS 6 from a dvd
Keyboard shortcuts suddenly disappeared and I was unable to reset them.
I held down cmd-opt-shift and started Photoshop. Saw "Delete Photoshop Settings file", released the keys, clicked Yes, and let Photoshop finish loading. Rebooted computer. Still nothing.
I uninstalled PS, tried to to install from dvd and gave me "The serial number you entered is invalid."
Contacted Adobe support chat and Naveen gave me a download link. Still gave me: "The serial number you entered is invalid."
Then firefox crashed. Tried to get back on chat and could not and now my only "recommended option" is Forums. So here I am. Don't think that there's much anyone can do to help as I have uninstalled PS, but hoping to hear from Adobe support...

Got back onto chat but have to contact tech support during their PST hours
to deal with keyboard shortcuts problem.

You can try signing out and back in to your AppleID in Settings > iTunes and App Stores or follow this procedure:
1. Go to Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Apple ID.
2. Tap your Apple ID.
3. Tap View Apple ID.
4. Enter your password.
5. Go to Country/Region in the popup window to change to the desired store.
