That's going to be a ridiculous waste of money and energy.
First of all, the current ATI drivers don't support multiple GPUs, so at the moment even a single 4870X2 would be only a 'normal' 4870 (which is quite a speed beast already). GFX drivers evolve rapidly, so things might look different next month, but when it comes to Linux and hardware there's one Golden Rule: stay away from the newest stuff and wait for proper support to get coded.
I also wonder what power supply could possibly cope with the differences between idle and full load; that's way beyond 400W. But then, I'm one of those "quiet&green" types where >100W idle is already a bit much.
I kind of understand that you want to get it done and not worry about hardware for the next 10 years or so, but that's simply not how the hardware world works and never did. At least not for the average consumer. -

What operating system? The duplexer typically must be enabled (just once...) in the driver to make it available. Enable the duplexer as shown in the Vista/Win 7 Duplex Printing Troubleshooting Guide here.

Cant locate files on computer, but i have the music on my ipod touch
After i transfer my music files from dropbox into itunes, i delete the dropbox files. i do this thinking that now the files are kept in itunes. i was wrong. Itunes has been working fine forever, and now its giving me a problem about not being able to locate the files. there are no music files on my computer, because i thought they were kept in itunes. currently, i have the music titles and everything in itunes, but if you were to look at "My computer" and go through every file, you wouldn't find any music files. but, i have all the music on my ipod touch 5 th gen., is it possible to put the music from my ipod into itunes on my computer? this time i'll keep the files.

This happens on both my Macs: Macbook running OS 10.4, and iMac running OS 10.5. The message doesn't say which privilieges I needs, nor anything about being the administrator, but on the iMac I am the administrator, and on the MacBook I have administrator privileges.
When I try send video clips as attachments, I get a message saying Quicktime can't open the .avi - why?
How are you tryin to send the .AVI file? Are you sending the attachment directly from Mail or from Aperture or iPhoto? -
Thinking of upgrading to SL,But i have some Question before moving to SL
I will be glad if anybody can help me with my questions before moving to Sl.first,i like to know,after upgrading or fresh install,do i need to reinstall another windows xp on the machine,cos i use VMware Fusion?
Secondly,What option is the best,Upgrade or Fresh install?
Can i make backup using an external usb2 drive? and what can i do so my old setting remain after installing SL.Setting like my Chat history,and will my applications use the same lience key?

What important it the history of chat i had on my pc.i work for a company as a mid man and this history help me to remember last diccussion with client..In your place, I would move to SL if, and only if, I had an external drive with a bootable clone of my internal on it. I think that there is enough risk in going to SL that such conservatism is warranted. I would not use time machine alone for backup/restoring when moving to an OS upgrade or doing a point update. This app can be problematic and, consequently, its solo use is too risky for me in these cases. You will be able to extract your settings, files, and programs from your clone if you do an erase and install. You can erase and install or upgrade with any SL disk except the gray ones that come with specific machines. I still prefer to erase and install.
To erase and install (see upgrade option below), start up to your DVD and stop after selecting your language. Use the menus to start Disk Utility and erase your drive. Quit Disk Utility and proceed with your installation. At the end, you will be able to choose to reclaim your settings, files, and apps from the clone (plug in the external at the point of the last install restart).
If you do not like SL, then you can restore your internal using the clone. I would do all cloning and related restoration with SuperDuper, Carbon Copy Cloner, or some other up-to-date cloning app, including Disk Utility. Your clone also will serve as an independent backup for your data.
Upgrading is a very sound process on a Mac. Still, I also would insist on having a bootable clone on an external before upgrading. An upgrade is performed by installing over your existing installation from the desktop or having started from your SL DVD. All your programs, data, and settings will be present after an upgrade, but incompatible programs will be archived. -

You don't download Mt Lion with Safari. You must use the App Store app that should be installed in the Apps folder when you update to 10.6.8 and buy Mt Lion from the Mac App Store. It is not free.

My daughter accidentally reset her ipod4 to factory settings so I restored from the last iCloud backup. All her photos were on camera roll so I believe they should have automatically been backed up, but none have been restored. Why?
When she plugged in the ipod last night it backed up again so that now shows as the latest backup. No previous backups are listed so I do not seem to have the option to rerun the old one. She had many pictures on the camera roll taken from well before July. I can only presume that the backup in July must have been incomplete - but then I didn't think it was supposed to list as an option to restore from. Luckily many of the photos had been backed up on the pc but I am very frustrated as to why the icloud backup didn't protect them. Thank you for your advice though, I appreciate it.
