TS1702 I downloaded an app that was free but I was charged for it.

How do I get my money back?
It said it is called:  Bike Race Free by Top Free Games.

The basic game is free, but did you perhaps acquire anything else from within the same, such as a Ghost Bike or turning off ads? You have to pay for those.

  • I purchased an app when I had my iPhone 4s and when I went to the app store to re download the app, I was charged for it again?

I purchased an app when I had my iPhone 4s.  I went to the app store to re download the app and I was charged for the app again after I downloaded the app.

IPhone and iPad have different formats.   You would have to purchase the iPad version.   This isn't true of all apps, some work on both iPad and iPod/iPhone (like most games).

  • I downloaded an app that said free, but later it turns out that I have to pay for it! Why did that happen!?!?

    I don't get it!!!

Without knowing what app you are talking about, no one here can explain what happended. We can however, make certain assumptions.
Many, free games include "in-app" purchases.... items that you can buy within the game that let you unlock other levels, or use to enhance the game experience. Some free games are lite versions and if you agree to upgrade the game, you may have to pay for the upgrade.
So like I said  without knowing what game you are talking about and what you might have done during game play, we can only guess. But .... You should have been required to enter your password when you made any purchases - unless you had already entered your password for another reason - maybe to download a free app perhaps.
Once you enter your password, you can download continuously without having to re-enter the password for a 15 minute period of time so if that's the case, only you would know what happened. If that's not the case, more details will be needed from you for a further explanation.

  • Will an app that was developed for the new iPad resolution run on prior iPads?

Will an app that was developed for the new iPad resolution run on prior iPads?
What happens if we develop an app at 2048 x 1536 and try running it on iPad 2?

    Yes.
It will run, but won't have the same resolution as New iPad.

Downloading (using iOS or computer) past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519 - enabled with iTunes 10.3 and newer; not all media formats are available in all countries (see: iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match Availability by Country - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5085); apps, books (not audiobooks), music, t.v. shows, and movies (some - not all studios have permitted this).  Downloading previously purchased movies and TV shows requires iTunes 10.6 or later.  Discontinued items not available. For items not included in the iCloud list (e.g., ringtones, audiobooks), or locations or computer systems where iCloud is not (yet?) available, you only get one download per fee paid.  Apple notes it is your responsibility to back up your purchases.
Select the iTunes Store on the left side of iTunes.
Click on Purchased on the right side under Quick Links.
You can re-download your available previous purchases.

  • Apps that say free but with a subscription price added?

When you have an App such as a magazine, or news like The New York Times with a monthly subscription. When you download the app for free are you getting charged for that monthly fee without knowing it? I ask because the app says free download but is not so clear on if you subscribed on a monthly subscription. So is the buyer being fooled or is it really free?

That's referred to as an "In-App" purchase...

  • I got an app on my iphone that was promotionally free. I borrowed an ipad from a friend and needed the app but it was not free anymore so i logged into my apple account and downloaded the app from there. Will i be charged for downloading it?

Will i be charged for downloading it from my account which had the app while it was still free?

Some apps are written for the iPhone. Some are written for the iPad. Some are universal and will run on both.
That app is NOT universal. That means you must purchase a separate version of the app for iPhone and iPad.  The iPad version will NOT run on the iPhone.
In these cases, the iPhone version of the app usually WILL run on the iPad, but it will be window-boxed when running (or expanded and unable to take advantage of the iPad display).
Pay attention when making a purchase if you want it to run on both. If it does not have a + in the price box, it is not universal.

  • I have never downloaded any app that was not free...

but in my bank account I have 2 "invoices" of 1,98 €.
i have only downloaded Skype, Facebook, etc. Before i had anothere Itouch that got stolen, and I don't know if this payments are 'cause I installed twice the same programmes... Anyway, I demand a refund.
Hope that someone gets in touch with me for that.

I've encountered the same, and I also seem to pay 1 euro for each 0,79 euro app I buy.
However, it turns out that it's not iTunes' fault - it's the bank that is unable to display the proper amount in their notification message! If I check my bank account history now, I see the correct amounts billed and there's no 1,98 euro charge, even though I got notified of such twice.

  • I downloaded 2 apps that said "FREE".

One of them was OmniFocus which cost 39.99 dollars
and the other one was Things which was 19.99 dollars.
I'm sure that both of them said 'FREE' next to them when I downloaded them
because usually when you have to pay,
they tell you once more about the price and if i really want to buy it or not.
But both of the times, they didn't ask me anything at all.
When I clicked Free, it turned to Install and when I cliked Install, they were downloaded right away.
So i thought I got them for free but later I got a mail saying that I had paid for those 2 apps!
I did sent a mail to them but can I actually get my 60 dollars back?
There was nothing that I did wrong in the process so would it be possible to get my money back?

Do a doublecheck, access the App Store from a different computer and see if you see 'free' instead of a price. Also, check the reviews, if something wrong is happening then it's probably not only happening to you.
The terms of sale for the App Store is that all sales are final, however that may not always be the case.
You need to talk to iTUnes
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/
I searched the App Store and what I saw was several free omnis, but the omnifocus did have a price on it. Perhaps you clicked the wrong box?

  • Do I have to pay for an app that was offered for free once?

I had to restore my iPhone and there was one app that I got for free when it was on special.  Now the app is back to its orignal $3 price tag.  So my question is, do I have to pay for it this time around?

  • HT4009 I purchased something on an app and was charged for it, but I never recieved the item.

While playing Sims FreePlay, I purchased a $9.99 "Sack of Simoleans" that had $30,000 Simoleans.
While the order was processing, I guess it took too long and a popup said "Server timed out." and I never recieved the Simoleans. However, when I was looking in my E-Mail, I found that I was charged the $9.99 anyway.
How can I get my money back, or get the item that I purchased?

Hey man, i just did the same thing and was charged $9.99 plus tax in Galaxy on Fire 2, and was lookiing for help. I got these from turtleshells1998 and lllaass:
    Contact iTunes
Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us
That happened to me when i had tower town... I spent $5.99 and the "bucks" did not pop up.
What you have to do is exit the app. Then start up the app again.
If the in app purchase still has not popped up, I would restart the ipod.
If the in-app purchase still has not appeared in the app, I would contact whATever company made the app and ask for your money back...
I, for one, have sent a message to the makers of my game and am waiting for a reply.
I Hope These Helps You Too!!
