TS1702 iPad problem updating apps

When I open the App Store to update apps ( because there's a superscript showing that I have pending updates) nothing shows up. Any thoughts?

Try this workaround
App Store>Purchased>Select "All"
Note: Look out for apps that have the word "Update"

    What happens when you try?
    First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
    Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
    If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
    At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
    If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

    iTunes says I have updates available, but when I click Get Updates it says "(my account name) has no updates currently available, to check for updates for another account, sign in with that account"
    Problem is, this is my only account, the same account I use to purchase and update apps on my device.

    I have the same annoying problem since I moved my iTunes account from Switzerland to USA (change country). All updates for apps I bought in Switzerland end up in the same (wrong) error message.
    If I change the country of my account back to Switzerland (reenter all the billing informations!) I can download the updates.
    APPLE - please fix!!!

    Your post is in " iChat  " which is an App on Mac computers.
    You could be using an Apple ID in iCloud on the iPad or in Messages or in fact both.
    If it is an ID issued by Apple it may also be used in the mail app.
    We would need to know more before offering suggestions.

    If your iPod Touch is too old for iOS 5 or later... there is not much you can do.
    When/if you get a later model iDevice you will be able to Download Past Purchases using the Original ID that made those Purchases. (providing they are still supported by the Developer)

    Try a reset all settings, you won't lose any data but all your settings will be erased
    Settings > General > Reset > Reset ALL settings.
    Other steps you can try
    A basic restart if you are not comfortable with losing your settings; turn off your device and back on
    Resetting network settings; great for issues related to wifi or connectivity to online services.

    Re. Updating apps. i just changed the date to two days forward and was able to update all my apps. This was ftera week of getting msg can not open itunes.
    This worked on my Iphone.

    First off, the backup you mention only has backups of the appa and data, not the iOS.  You can't downgrade back to iOS 6.
    Doing an update of an app via itunes has no effect on previous backups.  (And again, a backup does not include iOS, that is in firware on the device and is never backed up.)

    About a week ago I started having issues updating applications on my phone. I can get online, download apps from 3G or wifi but when I go to update apps, it tells me "Cannot connect to iTunes Store". I've talked to Apple support 2 times with no luck. I have reset network settings, logged out of iTunes and back in again but still cannot update apps through Wifi or 3G. The only thing I have not tried is a restore of the phone. Last night I tried deleting the apps needing updating, then syncing them again with my desktop G5. Same issue. On my desktop, in iTunes, under applications, it shows I have 5 updates available. When I click the button to go to the updates, I then get an error that "No updates are available". Anyone else experience this.... you think this is an Apple issue with the App Store or my phone?

    You can redownload by deleting the applications.
    All redownloads are free except you will lose saved data.

    You said you tested another VOD... Did the other have the same issue, or not?
    Unplug power from the Set-top box and router for a few minutes..... PLug them back in and try again... if still not, then remove power from the STB and reset the router with a paperclip or pen in the reset hole on the back of the router for 15 seconds... turn them on and try again
    If that does not resolve the issue, contact tech support and have them try to reset the STB and possibly reboot the ONT, and then go from there

    Try a reset:
    1. Hold the Sleep and Home button down (together) for about 10 seconds
    2. Until you see the Apple logo (very important)
    Note: You may have to do the above a few times

    Are you downloading it directly from Adobe - of from the site where you get the error message?
    Never download from a third party site as you may get an older version or a corrupted version.

    I changed my Apple ID because I was having problems with the email address associated with it. Now I can't update any of the apps downloaded with the original ID. I can't get back to the original ID because it says it's locked for security reasons. How can I find out which apps were purchased with that ID? How can I keep from having to pay for them again-some were quite expensive? You can't talk to anyone on the phone to explain your frustration. HELP!!!

    Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap the old ID, sign out, sign in with the new one.
