When I go to open itunes on the ipad the message says i might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be itunes. what do I do now!?

If so, that one is often a compatibility mode problem. Try the following document, only be sure that none of the boxes in the compatibility mode tab are checked (not just the compatibility mode box itself):

it's been about 2 weeks were i can't open my itunes library every time i try to open it a thing pops up that says iTunes.exe-Bad Image and it says 'The application or DLL C:\Program Files\common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support \Video Toolbox.dll is not s Valid windows image please check this against you installation diskette' and i press ok and another thing pops up saying 'itunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error7(windows error 193). I have reinstall itunes about 3 times already and i keep getting the same thing.

Taken at face value, you're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file there. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are kept.)
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. Now head into your Add or Remove programs control panel, select "Apple Application Support", click "Change" and then click Repair.
If no joy after that, try the more rigorous uninstall/reinstall procedure from the following post (although it's for Vista and 7, just read "Computer" as "My Computer", read "Uninstall a program control panel" as "Add or Remove programs control panel" and assume the system is 32-bit, and you'll be doing the right things):

I clicked onto itunes and it wouldnt open, so i uninstalled it and i ipgraded the new itunes setup. When i tried to install it, when it was almost done a box says, "The older version of Apple Software Update cannot be removed." And i dont know what that means.

My iPad wont let me do any apple updates for apps etc. I can't download music etc. used to be able to but doesn't seem to connect to I tunes. Everything else worksSaw this on another post.
Applecare Senior Advisor Txx Bxxx (I have his contact info in an email he just sent) just confirmed with me that the problem people are having with the App Store not loading is an apple issue with there servers, ITS NOT YOUR IPAD so don't go restoring it! It's not happening to everyone however but they are looking into it, its really hit or miss.

This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.

It just began today; I've been purchasing content (music and apps) on the store via my phone and PC for months without problems. I can view products on the Store, but when I try to purchase something or view my account details and subsequently enter my password, I'm told either 'Cannot connect to the iTunes Store' (on my iPhone) or 'We're sorry, we cannot complete your request on the iTunes Store at this time. Please try again later.' (on iTunes for Windows).
After speaking to someone on 133 MAC, I've ruled out my internet connection - I have perfect connectivity to other services on my laptop and phones using Wifi and on my phone using 3G, but the problem remains - and my password: I've reset it to something else, but now I can't sign into my account on my phone at all. I can, however, sign into it on the web at My Apple ID.
iTunes for Windows diagnostics indicates no problems with network connectivity and a successful connection to the iTunes store. Here are the diagnostics results:

Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

1. Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
2. If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
3. You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
4. You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again.
5. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons -
i was just working on it-and my hard drive was pretty much full so i was about to delete some files to make room so i can save the document-but before i could do that, pages decided to auto save it for me but there was no room to save it, so it said could not save: revert changes. so i clicked revert changes and it said unable to revert, document must close or something like that and it closed the document for me. but i opened it again as normal and it opened again as normal.
so then i took a lot of my files off my laptop to make room to save it, but when i tried to save it, the same thing happened, but this time when i tried to open it as normal, it said it cant be open because it is a blank file when it so clearly isnt? is there anyway i can restore this because i dont see why my macbook is doing this to the file when i made room for it to be saved, and even when there wasnt room-my macbook saved it anyway. no thats theres room it says its blank and cant open- when i right click on it and click show package contents, it comes up with 3 items: data folder which is blank, index.zip file which it wont let me open to unzip, and a metadata folder which is also empty. please help, thank you.To change asccount information see:
