Hi, when you say you have tried everything... I presume you have gone into Settings > Store and logged out and back in with your account details?
You could try purchasing an app via iTunes to see if its an issue with the device or the account you're using.

I've had this problem from about two weeks and I forgot about it, but today I wanted to play on it and remembered that it's not working, I've tried connecting it to iTunes via my laptop but I'm not to sure how to update it because I thought that might fix it, but no luck. I'm on my iPod touch 4th generation and I wanna delete apps. Well I hold it down nd the X appears but as soon as I press the X it doesn't do anything for a little bit and then shuts down and turns on again by itself, HELP ME DELETE!

If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

I just got a new iPod Touch 4th generation for my daughter. I have a iPhone 5 that is already set up on iTunes. The only thing I want on her iPod from my iTunes is music and apps. How do I set her iPod up so that it only gets that information? Do I set it up as a new device? If so will that alter my iTunes?

But you'll have to use your Apple ID to sync bought media to her device. Disable all other things you don't want to sync like photos, contacts, etc. -

- Try another charging source
- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.

Hello, I have an iPod touch 4th generation 8GB that I purchased brand new in January 2013. The device is currently running iOS 6.1.6.
It worked perfectly fine until today, when I tried to sync one single song on it.
While i was syncing it, I noticed that on the iPod screen, the song menu begun scrolling without me touching the display, some song titles became white (as when you're syncing a song) or disappeared leaving blank lines, until the music app crashed.
When I opened it again, it said that there where no songs in my library.
I tried copying my music on the iPod again, but it only copied one song, after that when I tried syncing more songs, iTunes kept saying "preparing synchronization" (or something similar) but nothing happened.
I tried restoring the device, and initializing it as a new iPod (without using any backups) and then I started copying my songs on it again.
But after the 15th song, the problem occurred again.
What can I do?
Is it possible that it's the case of an hardware failure? My photo library wasn't affected, and except for the music problem, my iPod is running fine, it's not even an old device and no accidents even happened to him (like falling on the ground or something like that).
Any tips?
Thank you in advance for your help!I'm having the same problem with my 4th gen iPod touch. After the update my iPod synched and wiped all my music off - apps & podcasts weren't affected. Restored it a couple of times and that didn't work.
I tried copying a couple of albums over and it would do a couple of songs then the rest of the album would look like it had copied instantly. I tried playing the songs and it would play the first couple of songs once, then it came up with ! Beside every song (including the ones I'd just played and said they weren't on my iPod.
I've removed iTunes from my laptop and downloaded the few iTunes bought albums over WiFi to my iPod. The rest of my music is from cds or mixes/podcasts downloaded from soundcloud so I've had to use a different program to copy some of this music to my iPod for the time being until I can see how to sort this out. -
My ipod touch just turned off on me, the screen just turned off and now it wont turn on whatever i do. My brand new iPod Touch 4th Generation, just isn't functioning correctly.
Recently, I bought a brand new iPod 4th gen. Since, it has gone haywire and refuses to function correctly. It is 16 gb and operating on iOS 6.0.1. On many apps, especially games, it can get really laggy at times, for no discernable reason. I have very few apps installed, and a great internet connection, so I can't understand why that would occur. Also, Safari is absolutely useless. When opened, under any circumstances, It goes to a default white screen:
Then it can do NOTHING else. Upon further inspection, this seems to happen to a couple default apps. Such as:
-Calendar
-Maps
-Mail
After about 20 seconds of blankness, it then force-closes to the home screen. In addition, Game Center has become a pain in the butt; it just won't leave me alone. Anytime I try to open a game with internet capabilities (ie.Vector,The Sandbox, etc.), it pops up wanting me to sign in, yet it wont work. When I try to sign in, it never works the first time. I have to home-screen, then click the app again to open it up to the same page, before it even shows the keyboard, not to mention, at this screen, the keyboard is horizontal (landscape) while the rest of the screen is vertical (portrait). From this point, signing in does nothing, it will bring up the buffering circle and spin for about 10 minutes, before promptly force closing. I can't get out of that screen either, when it comes up asking for my log in, the cancel button becomes absolutely worthless, it does nothing. I've disabled Game Center's notification and changed it's capabilities, but it STILL comes up when I try to eneter a game. The only way around it is to completely TURN OFF my Wi-Fi. Thus rendering a lot of in-game content worthless. Lastly, sometimes the Game Center opens Safari, but since it doesn't do anything, I have no idea what to do. Home-screening does not work, as less than a second later, Safari opens again, and again, and again. The only way to stop this annoying cycle, is to completely SHUT-OFF my iPod.The iPod is only a little over a week old, and it ****** me off that I already want to put it down the disposal.- Reset the iOS device. I have a black 4th gen. iPod touch with 5.1 iOS. The charger won't work anymore and I think something is cut in the wire. If I get a new one do I have to pay, if so were can I get one?
I think you mean the cable. Yes, that is covered by the warranty that comes with the iPod. I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. If defective and not abused and within warranty, Apple will replace the cable.

IPod Touch 4th Generation; every time I try to back up and update, I get error -43. Help?
My iPod Touch is a 4th generation running on iOS 4.3.3, and I want to update to the more recent iOS 6.1.2; however, when I connect to iTunes to back up/update, about 3/4 of the way through the backing up, I get error message -43, telling me that continuing will result in the loss of all the contents on my device. I don't know how to fix this, and it happens every time I try to update. Solutions/advice is greatly appreciated.

Then restore via iTunes. The iOS device will be erased. Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
