When trying to create a desktop icon, it does not go to the URL.....instead I get 'script' and not a website......the script has http//etc but I am not directed to the website......I previously had IE 8 (on Vista).....is that the problem?I do not have any installed plugins....at least none that I know of.....remember I am a new user......Basically, the desktop icon is not going directly to the Mozilla FF to get me to the web site I need to go to.....FF works when I use the Mozilla FF icon.....just not the icons I create.....THANKS!!! I am synching my ipad and iphone with icloud. Events put in calendar on ipad go to the iphone calendar,, but if i enter an event on the iphone calendar, it does not go to the ipad. What do i do to get this to work both ways?

Open Keychain Access in Utilities, use Keychain First Aid under the Keychain Menu item, then either check the Password under that item, change it, or delete it and start over. See if there are duplicates, should be one for Incoming & one for Outgoing.

If you're running Mountain Lion (10.8.3), reminders is now a separate app. Launch reminders from your applications group and you will be able to access File>New Reminder.

This driver does not appear in the apple search list.
Any ideas on where i can locate a driver.Try the HP site. Apple's drivers come from the printer vendors.
Don't be all that surprised if there isn't an updated driver available; HP don't support superceded models with updates for every OS update. -
After upgrading to the new version everything seems to work well except my back/forth button on the browser are visible but grayed out and not functional. I have tried all of the suggestions in help and am unable to bring them to life. Very frustrating to use a browser with out these functions. I run 4 websites and it is maddening to have to keep reloading the sites just for simple work.
I have to have these working or will be forced to use another browser. I liked the old FF much better. I can not tolerate this much longer.I notice from your system specs that you're running a very old version of Flash. Have you experienced any unusual events watching Flash videos lately? It's possible that you may have been a victim of just such an attack. It might be worth doing a malware scan using this well-known scanner from http://www.malwarebytes.org/ The free version is more than adequate to eliminate any current threats. -
When I click on Firefox I see restore session but no options to do so....cannot get firefox to load....it just sits and tries to run but will not load....I have uninstalled Firefox several times and downloaded with NO luck...help!
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

I have tried every method I've found on Mozilla threads from modifying the profile.ini file to merging the profile folders, etc. I have the original Thunderbird profile (including all folders, inbox, sent items etc) on the original hard drive that is set up as a secondary hard drive (E:) in the new computer.
No matter what I try, I can't get Thunderbird to pick up that old profile. I've uninstalled and re-installed T-Bird nearly a dozen times now (and deleted the folders from the AppData folders) to try to get it to pick up the original profile.
Any suggestions????Create a new profile and copy the old one over it.

Re-installing Thunderbird is a complete waste of time. It won't do anything to your profile. -
I recently started having this problem after downloading Lion and some updates after that. Not sure what to do to fix it or if its not fixable on my end. Is anyone else having this problem?

PaulYes its the same and I already tried that, Thank you. the crazy thing is that the link opens up a window but i can't even select anything on it or make it active, its hidden and if I swipe to the next desktop I can see it. But i need to already have the mouse pointer over the close button or i would not even be able to close it. Very strange. ANYONE?

I am getting a "not delivered" when I try to send a photo from my Ipad or iPhone via iMessage. I can receive photos in iMessage and I can send and receive photos other than with iMessage. I have tried restoring factory settings etc but no luck. Is anyone else having this problem please?
I've been having this problem too, but here's the catch: originally it was only with my dad, and only sometimes. Now it's dad and husband, every time! Pix go through, via imessage, to everyone else, and they go through to dad/husband if I "send as text" after it fails.
And the other annoying thing- the blue bar will run all the way, and it will say "delivered". So I close out of imessage. When I reopen it again, the "delivered" has changed to "not delivered" with the red exclamation point. I just googled "imessage not sending photos" and founds TONS of people with the same problem, but no solutions. (I have rebooted phone, reset network settings, with no luck. I even had to backup/delete/restore my whole phone the other day for a different reason, and hoped that would fix it, but now it won't send to my dad OR my husband (who is on not just the same carrier, but the same family plan as me) -
JRE does not pick up the existing font installed in the OS
Hi,
I am developing an application that required to display UTF-8 string in different language, eg. Japanese, Chinese,..., and having some problems with using font
to display those strings.
I. Problem:
For some reasons, the JRE does not pick up the fonts in either jre/lib/fonts or OS's fonts folder (Windows\Fonts) to use to handle these strings. This results in square boxes displayed.
II. Temporary solutions found:
I searched and found the following solutions
1. Put the font in the fallback folder under jre/lib/fonts
However, this requires to bundle the application with the fonts, it has some problems
* Bundles all possible fonts significantly increase the size of the JRE
* It is a waste if the OS already has the font (as in my case Arial Unicode MS font already installed). 2. Modify the font.properties file *<- which is not recommended.*
III. Questions:
1. So I am wondering if anyone knows other solutions to this problem?
2. I came across some sites that says JRE will pick up the font correctly for a language if the OS is localized on that language. Is it true since I could not yet find that statement on sun website?
Any help or advices are greatly appreciated.

i have tried this 6+ times to "How to share music between different accounts on a single computer" on my wifes mac and can not get it to work!! On my PC no problem but on the MAC it will not work, follow the instructions to the T but no go????
It is almost as if the program does not exist on my computer. If I search for it, the only thing that comes up is the installer. I cannot find it anywhere despite the fact I have installed it numerous times, uninstalled it and conducted a fresh install, and the Adobe website checks says that it is installed.

I bought Adobe Elements 12; I cannot use panorama photomerge, I have followed the directions to go to Full Edit mode in edit workspace> choose File> New> Photomerge. However the Photomerge does not work, it does not respond.
The only thing I can come up with is that I found a blog that said that in the Trial version Photomerge does not work, however I do Not have the Trial version, I did at one time but I purchase Adobe Elements. Thank you.The blog was incorrect. Photomerge should work in the trial, too.

I am getting no sound on my macbook pro. The sound does not play when I plug in headphones either. I have tried making it louder quieter, restarting my computer, HELP!
There are many possible causes for this issue. Take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried.
1. Start with the steps recommended in this support article. Don't skip any of the steps. It's the starting point for further efforts to solve the problem.
2. If your model has an audio-out (headphone) port, and anything is plugged in, unplug it before putting the system to sleep.
3. If you've installed something called "Memory Clean" or any other third-party software that is supposed to "clean" or "purge" memory automatically, remove it according to the developer's instructions and reboot. You should do that even if the software is not causing the problem, because it's useless.
4. If you've installed an equalizer called "Boom" or anything similar, update or delete it and reboot.
5. If an AirPlay device is selected for sound output from iTunes (or from other applications via third-party software such as "Airfoil"), deselect it.
6. Launch the application "Audio MIDI Setup" by entering the first few letters of its name in a Spotlight search and selecting it in the results (it should be at the top.) Select the Output tab. If the Mute boxes are checked, uncheck them. Move the Volume sliders all the way to the right.
7. If a red light is coming from the audio-out port, the internal switch is stuck in the position for digital output. You may be able to free it by inserting and removing a mini-stereo jack of the proper size. Inserting any kind of tool in the port may cause damage that won't be covered by your warranty.
If there's no red light, the switch may still be stuck in the headphone position. Try to free it the same way.
8. Disconnect all wired peripherals except keyboard and mouse, if applicable. If more than one display is connected, disconnect all extra ones. Reboot and test.
9. Boot in safe mode. Don't log in; just reboot as usual when the login screen appears. When you do, make sure the words "Safe Boot" do not appear in the login screen. If they do, the system is still in safe mode and sound won't work.
10. Reset the NVRAM.
11. Reset the SMC.
12. Reinstall OS X after backing up all data. For a possible shortcut, see this thread.
13. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store.
