Will it let you delete it on the phone now? If it still shows waiting, just tap it once on the app itself and it should download the rest of the way. Do it while your on wifi tho.

Wow that was really quick, thank you so much. Im not sure at all which version it was because i said it was around 4 years ago he bought it. I know it isn't under his username, since he's a PC person (ugh) so i know its probably registered to one of our actual names. isn't there some way to look it up since we did register it, because I'm not even sure where the disks are from when we bought it (we've moved a lot and also have two storage lockers, i know i would have kept it with other disks) but my cd rom drive is actually broken on my computer as well ( i think it got stepped on and is now squished and won't eject or run disks.)
So is there anyway they can look up that its registered to one of our names since we did register it when we bought and installed it, or do i really have to find the disk with some sort of proof of purchase (i know there would be no receipt after all this time)

I can't remove an unchecked podcast from my iphone

Hello all,
I have my iTunes set to only sync checked Podcasts, but for some reason, some of my Podcasts are not being removed from my iPhone, even though I uncheck them on iTunes. Yes, I can swipe aqnd delete them manually on my iPhone, but before the software update, I was able to uncheck a Podcast, and it would automatically be removed from my iPhone, without me having to swipe it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I think this problem occurs when you download podcasts onto your iPhone from the web, not via iTunes. I too had a bunch of podcasts that would stay on my iPhone after I'd listened to them. I tried upping the play count, deleting them in iTunes, even unsubscribing from the podcast, but they still stayed on the iPhone.
Anyway, eventually I tried swiping across them (like you do for email), and the Delete button appeared. So I deleted them manually directly on the iPhone, and finally got rid of them.
I guess this has arisen thanks to iCloud and you not needing to have a computer anymore to manage podcasts, etc. But still, you'd think the options you set in iTunes would be applied globally to all your podcasts, no matter how they got onto your iPhone.

Can't remove new mail sound from 5s iPhone

@gsheppard I can understand how it can be frustrating not to send out email. The error message that you are receiving indicates that the out going server settings are incorrect. The in coming server setting are correct that is why you can receive and out going server settings are wrong which is why you can not send out. The best way to get this resolved would be to contact your email provider and get the correct outgoing server settings. Hope this helps. Thanks.

I can't remove a rented movie from my iphone

The movie has expired.
I have synced the phone a couple of times and it is still on there.
I have held down the sleep and home key at the same time until the apple appears.
I have uncheck the option to manually manage music and videos.
I was hoping to not have to push the restore button to get rid of a movie.

try syncing your phone a couple times and opening the "rented movies" item under the phone's entry in itunes. the first time i opened it my movie, which had expired a week ago was still there. then i undocked, re-docked and synced, and the rented movie was gone and 1+GB of free space appeared. I had synced the phone several times since the movie expired, so i think the difference was opening the rented movies entry.

I know it can be frustrating when you are waiting for content to download to your iPhone from the iTunes Store. There are a few steps I would recommend in this situation. Please read over and follow the steps in the attached article.

If your download was interrupted using your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
From the Home screen, tap the iTunes app.
For iPhone or iPod touch, tap More > Downloads. For iPad, tap Downloads.
Enter your account name and password if prompted.
Tap the blue download arrow to resume.
If you can't complete the download on your iOS device, you can download it in iTunes on your Mac or PC and then sync it to your iOS device. You can also transfer purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer.

You are able to sync purchased content from your iDevice to a new computer as long as the comptuer is authorized
To authorize the computer follow these steps
At the topi of the screen next to File- Edit -View, click store then Authorize this computer.
Enter in your appleID email address and password and click authorize
**If you do not see the File Edit View option, At the very top left corner you should see a little square click the square and click show menu bar.
Now that your computer is authorized click the file menu button, then click Devices, then go to your iPhones name and then click Transfer purchases this will allow you to transfer all of your purchased content to the computer
Now if you want to transfer your non purchased content to the computer you can do so if you have wif and the previous computer on the same network as the new computer with home sharing

Guys this is absolute rubbish feature of the login application where people's login names get recorded in the dropdown menu. Is there any more permanent way of getting rid of this annoying privacy intrusive "feature"? I would like to have a profile with a username that is not going to appear at airports and my grandma's laptop after I log out of skype and no I do not want to go digging for app files to remove my entire history on each and every machine I use as suggested by your help files. If older photos are missing it may be because photo stream photos are only held in iCloud for 30 days. After that they are removed from iCloud but will remain (up to 1000 photos) on your device until deleted. Also, only photos taken after enabling photo stream are added to your photo stream, and only when the camera is closed, your device is connected to wifi and you have at least 20% battery life remaining.
To transfer the missing photos you can either create a shared photo stream containing them and invite yourself to it (see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmc0cd7e99), import the photos to your computer and sync them to your iPad, or use an app like PhotoSync to transfer them to your iPad over wifi.

Do you just want to delete the music or wipe the whole phone since you've switched to the other one?
If you plug the old iPhone into your computer you can remove stuff via iTunes or remove stuff directly from the iPhone too.

The problem is from all the 9 songs I've paid for, only 7 are still available from this list on my iPhone. There is no possibility to download the other 2 without paying for them. I've spoke to the lady from Mississippi on the phone 2 days ago from about 2 hours calling from Belgium but unfortunately she couldn't help me. It's the 3rd time I complain about this. How many time shall I pay for the same songs?? If you can access my music list and my past receipts payment you will be able to find out what I mean. I went back on iTunes I've found the the songs I already downloaded in October that should be on my playlist but if I click on them it will charge me again 0,99 cents. 1. iTunes won't offer cloud downloads for songs that it "thinks" are in your library, even if it "knows" the files are missing. If you've exhaustively searched for the missing files and there is no prospect of repair by restoring to them to their original locations, or connecting to new ones, then delete that tracks that display both the missing exclamation mark and are of media kind Purchased/Protected AAC audio file. Don't hide from iTunes in the cloud when asked, close iTunes, then reopen. You can download from the cloud links or iTunes Store > Quicklinks > Purchased > Music > Not on this computer > All songs > Download all.
2. Why? Not sure, perhaps 3rd party tools or accidental key presses combined with previously hidden warning messages when trying to organize the library. There is a hint that using the feature to downsample media as it is synced to a device may also be involved, though I've not replicated it. Whatever the reason a backup would protect your media.

No Mail. I can not get or send mail from my iPhone,iCloud, or mail on the desktop. Password is correct i can get into iCloud but not able to get mail.

I can not get or send mail from my iPhone, iCloud, and desktop mail. All are the same account, password is right and working. When the problem first happened I updated to a new password.
The Mail and the phone are telling me ( "The iCloud IMAP server “p99-imap.mail.me.com” rejected the password for user “k****n******2”}
From the iCloud account i get a message saying mail could not be loaded and the details. Which i have copyed below.
Any thoughts or anyone I can ring ? This was a paid for mobile me account.

Spent at least 40 min talking to apple support, to sort it out. luckly not at my cost. After trying lots of things and speaking to a higher grade support person I was given a temp password which did the trick. I then was able to reset that with my own password.
The impression i got was no one knowns what the problem is and resetting the password at the apple end works. Not sure if you would be able to self fix.

This is my boilerplate respone for the "waiting apps" problem. Give these suggestions a try in order.
1. Tap the "waiting" icon and see if you can pause it. If it does pause, then tap it again and see if it will resume. If that works, repeat the same steps for each "waiting" icon.
2. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
3. Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first.
4. If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
5. You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again. Apps may also be able to be deleted in Settings>General>Usage>Storage if you cannot get the X to pop up on the icon.
6. You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.
7. If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad.
