When I got my IPAD 2 it had $30. On it, I bought a book, Steve Jobs, where did it go?

If the same audio book that I bought. on the iPad will be under the Music app > More > Audio Books.
On iTunes on the computer it will be under Books > Audio Books.

Where did my books go on my iPhone?

I have 49 books on iBooks. Yesterday 39 disappeared on my iPhone but not on my iPad. I see all 49 books in the books folder in iTunes and the sync all books box is checked. Today I have synced multiple times trying to recover missing books, restarted the iPhone and restored to factory settings; now I have nine of 49 books. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Okay - problem solved - some how the books that were not loaded on my iPhone had become unchecked in the purchased folder. They were showing up everywhere else but still would not download into iBooks. Problem solved - maybe this will help others.

The last screen is gray when looking at my purchased apps on my IMac. It shows apps that I purchased but it looks different than the other screens. These apps do not appear at all on my IPad. However, they once did. How do I fix this problem.

Are all your other Home screens full? If so, watch for the next app you download. If you have a problem you could organise a number of apps into a folder as a temporary measure to free up some space on the last working Home screen page. See Ch 3 of the User Guide.

Where did my Books categories go?

Installed iTunes 11. Why does iTunes keep getting worse? Not my major question.
My books are now in a long list, or really my pdfs. I had a variety of camera manuals all sorted out and that all seems gone now.

Have you tried clicking on the buttons at the top? You can select Audiobook, Books (e-books) and PDFs along with the List view which shows them all. The List view can still be organized by clicking on the proper header for the column you wish to sort by. The other categories can be sorted by clicking the View/View Options or Command - J.

Where did the change color option go it was in elements 10

In older versions of photoshop elements you could go to enhance and then at the bottom of that list you could "change color" what happened to that option? I LOVED it and used it all the time when colors did not come out correctly.

Where did Wi-Fi Scan go in OS 10.8.4?

I realize that Wi-Fi Diagnostics was replaced by Wireless Diagnostics in 10.8.4 but where did Wi-Fi Scan go? It was a sub-program of Wi-Fi Diagnostics and I would have thought that it would not have vanished completely from Wireless Diagnostics. On any given day there are 10-15 visible Wi-Fi networks in my community and sometimes I find myself competing with others using the same radio channel that my Time Capsule is set to. If I were experiencing a problem I used Wi-Fi Scan to find a channel that was not being used. Theoretically, setting the Wireless Options in Airport Utility to Automatic should aleviate co-channel interferrence between my Time Capsule's automatic settings and those of my neighbors but that was not always the case. I found that manually finding an unused channel works best for my Time Capsule.

If you look below you will see that I have the older and newer Wi-Fi Scans installed. The older Wi-Fi Scan did show the hidden networks but not the names. My network is hidden and it shows my network with a ✓ mark next to where the name would normally be. It shows both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks. If I click on the Menu Wi-Fi signal indicator and force the system to "Look for Networks..." with the Wi-Fi Scan window open Wi-Fi Scan does a scan on its own since it seems to always be in the Active mode from the time you open it. Once it re-scans it sees my network names and displays them. I am unsure if it does this for others in my neighborhood because I don't see any other hidden networks.
The new Wi-Fi Scan that is located in OS 10.8.4 is not Active when it is first opened. You have to tell it to perform a scan. After it scans it sometimes shows my hidden network and its name but it only shows the 2.4 GHz network and not the 5 GHz network. I said sometimes because it does not always display my network. I have yet to do a scan and see my 5 GHz network or any other 5 GHz network in my neighborhood. I'm not sure it is scanning for 5 GHz networks.
I'm sure the idea was to make both the older and newer Wi-Fi Scans work the similarly. They are not identicle and are only similar in appearance. Their scan results are never the same, they are only similar.

Did you hide it? From your home screen, press the BB menu key and select "Show All." If the icon is there, highlight, press the menu key and uncheck "Hide."

I had similar troubles on my iPhone 5 (iOS 7) with some audiobooks. Tried redownloading, reported problems, etc. nothing worked. Even more confusing, I could 'see' it in the On This IPhone in iTunes, but couldn't even see the audiobooks button in iTunes (on the phone).
I ended up searching for it by name, from my iPhone home screen (by swiping down, it may be called spotlight?), and where it reads 'Search this iPhone', I just started typing the name of the book, and there it was.
Not the most elegant solution, but so far all three of the books that I've bought are there.

What app did you download it into via 'open in' in the Mail app ? If you downloaded it into the iBooks app then it should show in the bookshelf in the app (assuming that it's compatible with the app i.e. if it was bought from Apple or it's a digital-rights-management free epub).

I BOUGHT & downloaded MPEG 2 QT component, where did it go?

I bought & downloaded MPEG2 QT component in order to use for editing video from a DVD with home movies that had been converted from tapes. When I put on computer it was .cdr which could not be used in iMovie. I need to convert to one that will work. I also got MPEG Streamclip, both on advice from a forum discussion. My question is, where did it go on my computer? I have searched with Spotlight & it wasn't found.

Then it would appear that you indeed have the correct component installed in the proper location.
I then brought up MPEG Streamclip beta & put my DVD in drive. I found Video_TS folder & dragged the .VOB files into Streamclip & when finished, I used FILE/Export using QT to convert files to Apple Intermediate Codec Component (which I saw in Library/QuickTime & also Apple MPEG2 codec.component). I chose to rename file clip & saved it. I opened iMovie & tried to import the file I just saved but they were gray, not black & would not import.
Made a quickie clip of what I do in MPEG Streamclip. Basically, this includes:
1) Dropping one or more non-zero VOB file for a single or multiple titles to the main MPEG Streamclip window.
2) Fix timecode breaks and set in/out points if needed.
3) Select desired export settings (in this case AIC video at 80% quality with uncompressed audio using default settings).
4) Set name and path for target output file.
When the conversion is finished, I test playback in the QT 7 player and add the file to iMovie if needed. Here is a 4 minute video I made minutes ago demonstrating my work flow. If you can't do this, then there is either problem with your computer, its software configuration, or Lion OS 10.7.4 has broken the normal work flow and this is yet another issue with the latest update to be reported to Apple.

Could be many things, we should start with this...

1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.

If you downloaded it on your Mac's iTunes then it should be in the Books part of your library (Audiobooks if you are using OS X Mavericks), if on an iOS device then it should be in the device's Music app.
By 'purchased list' you mean yoru purchase history or the Purchased link for redownloading ? If the latter then audiobooks are a one-time only download from the store so they won't show in Purchased for redownloading, you need to copy or sync it to the computers or iOS devices that you want it on.
