I am not able to restore neither from iTunes nor from iCloud. The proble with iTunes is it says that the backup is corrupted or incompatible. And I am not able to connect to iCloud for restoring. I have IOS 7.0.4 when I have taken the backup.
iCloud does not connect and it says Request Timed out.
Not Sure how to restore my iPad.

Thanksmy problem is with I cloud not iTunes what's up with apple haven't they got the brains to sort out this prob, that they have to let the "community " know instead of helping to fix the problem without having to go through all the hassle of signing in writing a small blog & then leaving it until someone bored with time to write their blog to at some point fix the prob or not ! oh nearly forgot my prob like

everytime i try to restore from a backup from my old iphone 4 to my new iphone 5 it says backup is corrupt even though i do a new backup each time. both phones are on teh same operating system
Have you tried doing the backup to itunes instead of icloud?

My Dell laptop hard drive crashed - when I go to sync my iPhone it says that my phone is already synced with another computer and can only be synced with one computer at a time. When I hit sync is says it will erase my phone and sync with the new computer which is blank. How do I get my phone to sync my contacts, pics, apps etc. over to my new hard drive without losing anything.
Yes, so what's confusing... Did you not restore the backup of your data, contacts, pics, apps, music, etc. to the new hard drive after you replaced it or reformatted it or whatever you did? If so, then you can just sync your data back.
If not, please try searching the forum. This has been addressed hundreds of times here. -

when I sync my iphone it says that there is newer version of the software but when I click the 'update' button I am told that 'itunes' is the latest version? There seem to be a few apps that are not compatible with my phone and I am wondering if that is because it is not up to date or beacuse it is a 3gs?

I recommend no less than 2GB's of RAM. There is no download for SL, you must purchase from Apple, $29 at any Apple store. Leopard is no longer sold by Apple. About the only place you can find a retail disk is eBay, however the prices are getting ridiculous. -

Using iTunes on your computer, open Preferences (under the leftmost item in iTunes menu). Choose "Devices" on top. Find your backup listed there, highlight it, and select "Delete Backup".

Check to see if Share My Location has been turned off. If it has, enable it, then try to turn off Find my iPhone again. It worked for my iPhone 6 on IOS 8.2
