TS1713 Plastic covering scrapped off fully

I have scrapped off the white plastic covering in the adaptor for a t style plug in a MacBook White while trying to remove some metallic gunk. Is it still safe to use?

  • Plastic covering on screen?

I have a new white MacBook and I just noticed that the screen seems to have a thin plastic covering over it. Is this for shipping and intended to be removed, or is it part of the display? There is no obvious tab or edge to peel back to remove the plastic. My older aluminum MacBook has what seems to be a solid glass surface.

Infernal, You will need to take your 6288 to your local Nokia Service Centre for cleaning out.
If you attempt to open/disassemble the phone yourself the 2 year warranty will be voided.
A Nokia Service Centre will clean out free under it's 2 year warranty.

roaminggnome was referring to the page that you posted from i.e. http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1292
You've tried contacting iTunes Support as it suggests on that page ? If not then you can contact them via this page and see what they say (you will probably need to give them images of the front and back of the card, and possibly its receipt) : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then iTunes Cards And Codes

  • Why are bubbles forming from plastic covering on my 20" display

Have numerous bubbles forming from plastic covering. Most are very tiny.
Some larger ones can be seen against a white or grey background.
I have Apple Care that expires Nov./08. Should I take my i-mac into the
Apple store and have them look at this. What will the display look like
in 4 or 5 years. Yuk! Thanks for your consideration.

  • Why are bubbles forming on  plastic covering on my 20" display

I have tiny bubbles forming in the plastic covering over my display.
Some are large enough to see when the background is white or grey.
Many are very small but their numbers are increasing at a rapid rate.
I have Apple Care that expires in 11/08. Has anyone had this problem and
can a new plastic coating be superimposed over display?
    Thanks for your help.

I guess heat could very well be the answer as I can't think of any other
possible explanation. I think I better take it into the Apple store in
West Hartford and have the genius look at it. Thanks for your imput.

  • Yoga 2 usb plastic pin broke off.

Today I took my laptop out of my backpack and the usb devinder/plastic middle part was a little outstrestred. I've tried to put my phone in the usb port but ithe plastic devinder broke off. So the usb port is working, but whitout the plastic part you could not use the usb port because of short circuit.
    It looks like:

Maybe this can be still classified as a material defect, because the plastic divider shouldn't be so weak unless it received some serious impact. I suggest contacting your vendor and check whether this can be repaired under standard warranty or not.

  • Plastic coating tears off after one month light use

Does anyone have problem with the coating (the plastic edge that goes around the front screen rathet than the sides) coming off or peeling after couple months of using? Purchase mine a month ago in early October and notice both bottom corners paint/coating peeled off or came off. It made this almost brand new phone looks undoubtfully cheap! Trying to mediate with the local customer service, but they claim the damage is caused by scratches which is not bound by Sony warranty but my phone is abosolutely scratch free everywhere around where the peeled coating area is. So frustrated as I sold my Sony Z2 to get this and didn't expect such cheap quality compare to the aluminum housing Z2 had.
Please share if you had similar experience and it would be great if someone from Sony Global can respond to this. Not happy at all and probably will not pick another Sony phone especially those with the plastic coat on!

Thanks.  Sony CS showed me one of this printout as their "evidences" showing the coat wore off was caused by scratches. To me the plastic coat looks like it got heated up (by the phone or either my firmed grip?) and stretched (there are white stretches mark circled by me that looks more like its been torn off rather than scratched off).
I am not convinced as there are little or no physical scratch mark on the screen especially when I have a protective sticker on which picked up little or no scratches, while it shows no scratches at all on the side bezel.  Moreover, the way CS described it as they used their machine to estimate and confirm the peeling were caused by scratches and when I asked them to show me evidence of stats they say they are unable to provide, which sounds completely ballic.
I demand them to run a heat test on the phone to see if it affects the plastic coating meanwhile and ask them to provide relevant stats to back their finding on the so called scratch marks they claimed... will see what happened in a couple of days.

  • IPad turning off: Fully charged

    Hi,
    I have an iPad 2 - running 7.1.1
I charge my iPad overnight (using a third party charger {Belkin})
I go to school and it works for about 10 minutes and then it just wont turn on.
If I hold the power button, nothing.
If I hold the home button, nothing.
If I try a reset (holding both for 10 seconds), nothing.
The only way it will turn back on is if I plug it in to a wall socket - it will come up as: (the charging symbol)
It will then, after 2 seconds, come up with an apple logo.
It will then work for 5 minutes and stop again.
    Help ._.

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

  • Issue with Plastic Screen on S10-3t

Seen a few listings on this issue but no resolution.
I brought one of the first S10-3t in the UK.
One day after travelling home and the bag being on my shoulder *and could only have been lightly knocked about* i noticed a small heirline crack on the plastic covering on the screen, The rest of the screen was still working as a touchscreen and so i ignored it. However the crack has now gone across the entire screen meaning it no longer works as a touchscreen.
The LCD is fine and at the right viewing angle you cant notice. Tried to call customer services and just got the blanket response that its due to customer damage and not covered.
I know if i send this off they will want to replace the entire screen, does the plastic cover over the monitor contain electronics? Seems really flaked to have just got without me dropping it, or knocking it hard.
    Thanks
    Joe

I have the same issue. A long crack across the touch panel and not the lcd beneath it. I asked the greek lenovo tech support if it is possible to replace the touch panel and am waiting for their answer and a quote for a price. I will post their answer here.

  • My Click Wheel Literally Popped OFF

I've had my iPod now for about 2 months and I'll admit I take care of it like it was my own child. Anyway, I bought this plastic covering for it and it got really dusty one day so I took it off. When I took it off though my click wheel literally popped off. The wheel still works and all but the right side is elevated a bit and won't click back in as much as I try. What should I do? Just send it back in or is there a way I could fix it myself. PLEASE HELP!
      Windows XP
    iPod Video 5th Generation

No the cover I have is just a screen cover. It doesn't even come close to the wheel. That's why I find this so odd. I read somewhere that you can take the wheel off to change the battery, but to do that you have to take off the faceplate, and trust me I have no idea how to do that. I'm just kind of peeved this happened. Heck I still have the plastic covering on the darn thing. Anyway, thank you for your advice. I would never of know to read the warranty if you hadn't brought it up. Thank you.

  • Hi everyone, I have a  4s which I love to bits, but I am having problem with the camera it works fine with no flash but as soon as flash is turned on it does go like a white blurry dark picture, I have warranty till end of feb but no box am I covered stil

Please if any one can help be grateful

Take the plastic protective sheet off the back of the iPhone.
The plastic is diffusing the flash so that it shines directly back into the lens washing out the picture.
Also if you have not removed the plastic protective sheet from the front, you want to do that as well, since the front sheet covers the microphone as ear speaker making it difficult to hear.
All of this happened to my wife :)

  • How To Clean Glossy Marks Off My Aluminum Macbook

As of some days ago, I am the proud new owner of the new aluminum macbook. I am very pleased with my purchase. The only slight problem I have is with the developing glossy marks on the space bar and on the upper part of the trackpad. From the outset, I must say that I have been meticulous when it comes to keeping everything clean and in good working order; but I have noticed recently these rather garish glossy marks occurring. Can anyone give me a good method of how I might get rid of them? I've already tried iClean spray, a small quantity of water, and a good bit of elbow grease. Still, the glossy marks remain! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I try and accept the marks on my Mac like I accept fact that Isabella Rossellini's beauty is evolving.
I did buy a silicone key board cover (the one made for MacAir). It semi protects it from liquid spills and I can take it off the clean it really well if need be and return it to the mac.
The glossy bits you describe are probably oil from your hands so unless you plan to wear gloves its going to happen.
I also own a iphone and immediately went out and bought a screen shield and rubber type case. I used it for a day and finally came to the conclusion that it ruined the beautiful lines of the iphone and I took it off and will accept the first bumps and scratches as a natural part of life.
I will use the protective case when I am rock climbing but I now think of the protective case on the iphone like plastic covers on my grandmothers living room couch.

  • MSI GT70 Dragon Edition, Plastic Scratches easily?

After several weeks of using this laptop some plastic covering around the keyboard is peeling off already so i decided to remove it. After a week i noticed that that are already some Scratches around the Keyboard if you can see yours,, it's the black boarder covering up the Whole Keyboard and also the Black plastic matterial covering the Monitor. I also see some scratches on the Touch bar, but i found out that there's a small film covering it up so no problem with that. My only concern is Does this laptop scratches easily? I'm quite disappointed  with the Plastic finish, My late ASUS G74SX's finish is far more Premium than my Dragon Edition. I'm still trying to look around the corner of that Plastic around the Keyboard if there's such thing as thin plastic covering it.. So please share your experience here. if you're experiencing this too. Thanks

@mike_cruz00, MSI is trying hard to offer very good performance wise laptops at those prices and therefore it becomes cheap regarding case and other. For example for GE 2012 series there is very cheap and glossy varnished plastic that it ruins design. Scratches, fingerprints and dust was making me crazy.
Therefore I suggest you to do what I did to mine yesterday and now feel happy. You need to cover those plastic around keyboard and maybe some more up to touch panel by vinyl carbon fiber. Don't worry that your case around keyboard is angled and curved because hot air makes vinyl wear anything like it was born there.
Vinyl costs like 3-4 bucks and it will be enough to cover 5 such areas. If you need more info just ask.
Here is my photo (sorry for quality).

  • Plastic piece to wind up power cord

So you know those two plastic pieces that open up from the power adapter so that you can wind the cord around it? Well one of my plastic pieces snapped off. I can't seem to get it fixed. My computer is still under warranty, is this covered?

    is this covered?
Nobody here can say for sure. Call Apple and ask.

    (1) Is it enough to just get parallel 7, windows 7, and MS Office (PC Version); and (2) does the parallel 7 support the NTSF file structure?  I need to have access to a bunch of files that are currently on a PC.  Thanks.
