with 82 charging  cycles, your battery most certainly fine.

take a dry toothbrush to the gold contacts both male and female on the connector and retest.
Sounds like you have a damaged connector or a damage in the DC cord.
Go to the apple store and use a DIFFERENT adapter for 10 seconds, that will immediately tell you the SOURCE of the fault.

  • Can I use the T-style  magsafe connector ..

if my macbook pro 13 inch (bought this time last year) came with the L style magsafe connector?
My L style connecter is shorting out and it seems like the T-style has better reviews than the L style. Plus I'm not to keen on spending $79 on a new charger.

I'm currently using the T-style connector from an old (3-ish years old) 17" MBP with my newer (<1 year old) 17" MBP.  But if the connector you're talking about isn't for a 13" MBP, I'd check with Apple before trying it, just to be safe.  I asked at a local Apple Store before trying it myself, rather than risk damaging the computer.

Is it not charging at all? Did you try to reset? If YES to both, request for a replacement of the ipod. Battery or the unit itself is defective. Cheers!

  • I have a ipod touch 8gb when i plug it in to charge it just blinks from the apple screen to the battery screen but will not charge what could be wrong it was fine yesterday?

I have a ipod touch 8gb . When I plug it in to charge it just blinks from the apple screen to the battery screen what could be wrong?

    Maybe:
    - See:
    iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting
    - Try another cable
    - Try another charging source
    - Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Look for abnormalities like bent or corroded contacts, cracked or broken plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genus Bar of an Apple store.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
    or
    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • HT4623 The battery is not keeping a charge on my Iphone 4S.  I have the lastest ISO 6.1.3.

The battery is not holding a charge on my iPhone 4s.  I have the lastest IOS 6.1.3.

That's unfortunate.  Have you searched this forum and read all the useful troubleshooting tips?  What exactly have you done thus far to remedy your situation?

  • Hello.  I recently pieced together a late 2008 MacBook Pro 15".  Everything works fine except the battery constantly goes between "not charging" and "calculating" or, rarely "charging". It does charge after a long while and will report that it is charged.

I have reset the NVRAM and the SMC a couple of time but that didn't work so I ran an Apple Hardware Test and while testing the logic board it gives the following error:
    4SNS/1/40000000 LB1T
I've done some research and found this is a temperature sensor related to the battery, but cannot find where the sensor is located in the computer.  Would you know how I can find the sensor to test it?  Could my battery problem be related to something else?  Would a fresh install of Lion help?
    Thank you!
    Mike
Two pieces of information that may or may not b helpful, the hard drive is from my early 2008 MBP and the only test disc I have access to is from an iMac.

Why do you have LION installed on that older machine?
So you say you built a macbook from a bucket of parts eh?   Kudos

  • I just purchased a new in factory sealed box ipod 5.5. I removed all from packaging and charged overnight. The battery won't hold a charge. How do I get a new battery under warranty for this NOS item?

I Just purchased a NOS ipod 5.5 brand new in factory sealed packaging from an apple dealer. I charged the unit overnight but the battery will not hold a charge. I read the Apple warranty and expect Apple to honor the warranty to the original end user purchaser (me). however I do not want to give up this iPod for a newer model because I love the sound from the Wolfson board. The newer iPods sound horrible and give me headaches. Does Apple still provide batteries for the 5.5 30 gb iPod? Or am I out of luck due to obsolescence? Thanks in advance!

I feel your angst, especially, knowing that Apple has become the most profitable company in the world, by selling us products that breaks down when the warranty run out, and crap service staff, who doesn't know anything about the iPod Classic, except offer to sell us refurbished iPod classic.
You can get the Battery replaced at 3rd Party store for less.
BTW, (most contributors might not agree with me) if  you recharged your iPod everyday, it will be dead just 2 months after the warranty expires. My logic, the iPod battery will last for about 400 recharge cycles according to Apple Specs listed below
    Charge Cycles
A properly maintained iPod battery is designed to retain up to 80% of its original capacity at 400 full charge and discharge cycles
So if your lifestyle is plugin in to car Audio dock, while driving, and plug in to home stereo while home, then it is 2-3 charge cycles per day.
But then you cant do anything about it, just switch to another media player.

  • The battery of my Ipod doesnt charge, so how much it cost and where can I replace it??

the battery of my Ipod doesnt charge, so how much it cost and where can I replace it???

You can take it to an Apple store...I think its costly though, I was told maybe a 100 bucks...not sure though. How long have you had the iTouch before the battery showed signs of failure, what Generation?
This is something that has been having me wonder about battery life.

  • Gets so slow that I have to pull the battery every single day!

I have had this issue from day 1 and is driving me crazy. Have to pull out the battery every single day just to be able to free the memory and so that it can run at a descent speed.
After taking out the battery, putting it back again and then switching the phone back on I will have a look in the application storage memory which will start at about 120mb. Over the next few minutes or hours the storage memory will get less and less till is sit with about 0 - 20 mb of storage memory. The device will then stop responding then eventually just hanging until I pull the battery then need to follow the process all over again.
I have up[dated the firmware and restored the phone back to defaults several times with no luck.
I do not install software on this phone. The only apps I install is watchstrap, twitter and Thelma navigator.
I have a 2gig memory card in the phone a swell.
I got to stop myself from throwing this piece of junk against the wall. Cannot wait for my contract to end so I can go for Samsung or android!! Unfortunately I got to wait still over a year. SO FRUSTRATING!!!

Hi and thank you for the advice.
I have installed the Blackberry Virtual Expert but does not have an option to see whats eating my memory. The only optioins it gives me is to do  Display tests, Keypad tests, Audio tests and choose test, So i don;t think this software is going help me  A few minutes my Application storage was sitting on 0.00MB and slowing dow and thinking now my memory has gone back up to 16.3MB then back up to 33.7MB.  Its my lucky day but will have to do a battery pull probably laer again.  Just to confirm all the software installed is..

I think what i have to maybe do is to do another factory reset on the phone and install nothing on it. Monitor for a few days and then install one application. Monitor for a few days and so on. It's all i can think of. Thank you for the help anyways

  • When I try to charge the battery, my i-pad says: "charging off", how can I change this, so my i-pad will just start to charge as before, without any complications?

    Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset  ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
    Release the Buttons...

I  am using 2 unit provided AC charger to charge my iPad mini. After a while, I checked the device. The battery is no longer in charge mode. It is only 80% charged. When I touch the AC charger, it is hot. I need to switch off the AC charger to let it cool down before continue to charge my iPad mini again. Of course it will be 100% charge but must make sure the AC charger is cool down completely.
I feel that the provided AC charger that is not suitable for our charging on iPad mini.

I would book an appointment at an Apple Store, if you have one nearby, to have it looked at.

It sounds like the drop damage more then just the lightning adapter.
I suggest you take it to Apple and ask them to check it out for you.

iMessage and FaceTime went down yesterday for some people. Mine is still down. My iMessage is saying the same thing about being activated. Sounds like you are still down too. Ignore the status page that says everything is fine - it lies.
