i have tried 3 times with this error DEP, yet i did not see that Program Files had the Quick time player.
however now i have uninstalled everything and would cherish next step as I am loosing it....

Simple, You have a hardware problem that only Apple can fix. So you need to take it back in to an Apple store and have it fixed by Apple. If it is still within it's one year warranty period it will be free.
If you khaven't bought the Apple care Extended Warranty, Applecare, then I suggest you do that before the standard one year warranty runs out. You can't buy it after that one year warranty runs out and to fix any Mac out of warranty is Very Expensive.

TS1717 Why can I not start Itunes? I keep getting a message that it stopped working/was stopped because of DEP, and I can't get DEP off to launch itunes.

I have Itunes installed on my PC, but now I can no longer open it. If I open it, I get the same message each time: Itunes has stopped working, a problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. As soon as I close that message by clicking on "Close Program" which is my only option, I get a second message stating that to help protect my computer, Data Execution Prevention has closed Itunes. So I read up on help section and attempted to turn off DEP for Itunes, but I get the message that I cannot turn it off for this program. I attempted to repair, uninstall, reinstall Itunes and I keep getting the same message. I also logged in as a guest on my computer as a site suggested and see if the problem exists there as well, it does, it gives me the same message. Please help!

Data Execution prevention? DEP? This is preventing my iTunes from opening?

Okay, so I finally got the "Critical Quicktime component missing" error message off of there, but now everytime I try to open iTunes, it says that i has "stopped working" and DEP prevents it from opening. Well, when I go to change my DEP settings, it says that it will not run without it. I'm quickly approaching my wits end. Please help me.

First check to see if QUicktime works normally, iTunes will not work without it.
If Quicktime is OK, then use this troubleshooting article:

If QUicktime does not work, describe what happens with any error message in full.
Have you installed any of the following:
ACE & K-Lite mega codecs package, QT alternative, Storm codec, WinAVI video converter, Mpcstar, (possibly starcodec pack, 3ivx)
If so uninstall them, they are know to casue problems with QUickitme.
Then download the version of Quickime without iTunes:

Now Remove Quicktime using the method for Quicktime in this article (just Quicktime):

When you come to your C:\Windows\system32\ folder you can delete any file or folder with Quicktime in the name.
Restart you computer
Install the stand alone Quicktime and check if it starts.
If it does you are in a position to find out if iTunes is OK.

ITunes latest trigging Windows XP Data Execution Prevention (DEP)

Updated too the latest version of iTunes and now I can't run it due to an Data Execution Prevention (DEP) trigger. HELP!
How do I fix this?
Is there a different version avail that fixes this (a bet perhaps?)?

Is there a Data Execution Prevention compatable version of iTunes? I have reinstalled iTunes 10.5 at least 10 times, and after it installs, it will not open because of DEP.

I have tried all the advice I have seen on Apple Support discussion boards for the past 2 days, and nothing works. Disabling DEP is not possible, regardless of what the Windows Support discussions tell you. In the meantime, I have absolutely no access to iTunes, or even the ability to update my iPhone or iPod. The only feasable solution is the possibility of a version of iTunes that is compatable with Data Execution Prevention settings.
In the past 2 days, I have: Removed iTunes and related components from the Control Panel (numerous times) Per the instructions on Apple Service discussions pages, I did it in this order. 1. iTunes 2. QuickTime 3. Apple Software Update 4. Apple Mobile Device Support 5. Bonjour ^. Apple Application Support. After all that, I reinstalled iTunes.
Everything looks fine during installation, with no error messages. At the end, it says everything was successfully installed. However, when the installation tool closes, iTunes will only partially open a window, but will stay blank. Then I get the message that iTunes has stopped working and that Windows has shut it down. Then I get notified that DEP has caused iTunes to shut down.
Can someone please help? Or, is there a DEP compatible version of iTunes?

Thank you for your kind reply. During the many times I uninstalled iTunes, and all the other Apple programs, I only used the Uninstall Programs in Windows Control Panel. To make a long story short, I found a solution that works for me, but it is still not a complete soluton.
Here is what I did:
I used Uninstall Program in the Windows Control Panel to uninstall everything IN THIS ORDER
1. iTunes
2. QuickTime
3. Apple Software Update
4. Apple Mobile Device Support
5. Bonjour
6. Apple Application Support
Then I went to C:\Program Files and looked for any iTunes or Apple program listed there and deleted it.
I have 64-bit, so I then went to C:\Program files (x86) and looked for any iTunes, QuickTime, Bonjour or any other file or folder that had Apple or any Apple program in the name and deleted it.
I went to C:\Windows|SysWOW64\Quicktime and C:\Windows\SysWOW64\QuicktimeVR and deleted them
Go back to START, and open the "C" drive. Open the USERS folder. Open the folder with your username. Open the AppData folder. Then double-click on the LOCAL folder to open it. If you see any files or folders there that show any Apple program or file, delete those files or folders. Then go to the REMOTE folder and do the same. If there are any other users on this computer, go to each individual user and do the same thing in each LOCAL and REMOTE folder. Restart your computer.
Go to http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ This is the page where you will actually download iTunes. Scroll down the page to the section under "Windows Software" that says "64-bit editions of Windows Vista or Windows 7 require the iTunes 64-bit installer". Click on that line to get the installer. It will take you to another download window.
Scroll to the bottom of the page to the message that says "Download for iTunes 10.4.1 for Windows (64-bit) here: iTunes for Windows 64-bit." Click there to get the download.
This is not iTunes 10.5, so you will not have access to "The Cloud", but it is at least functional until Apple actually comes out with a version that will not activate the DEP message. There was no combination of uninstalling and reinstalling, with or without Quicktime, with 10.5 that did not cause problems with Data Execution Prevention problems that I found.
I also used Firefox for the downloading instead of Internet Explorer. It just seemed to function better that way.
I hope this is helpful to someone. It's just what worked for me.

Posting write-up or unplanned dep?

We have an asset for which some more dep (special dep) should have posted in 2008? Option 1 is to post an unplanned dep now. Doing this we will make up for 2008 but we will not get the values correctly for 2009. To get the correct values for 2009, we can post a write-up of amount ( Amt should have been posted in 2008(incl of special dep) - Amt already posted in 2008). But our period control calculates dep at mid year (07/07...). If we change the period control to (01/01..) now, we get the desired ODep for 2009. But if we dont, we get some different value. Can somebody explain why and as to what is happening by posting the write-up now with period control (07/07..at mid year)?

The period control don't have any thing to do this that is only for determination the depreciatin start date automatecly (exeption is when you have depreciation to the day)
How the depreciation is calculated after a manual corrections is dependend from the depreciation key you use

ITunes Windows Vista - Error 7 - Windows error 998, DEP

Trying to install iTunes on windows vista laptop, iTunes installs but when i try to open it i recieve:

In this context (launching itunes), DEP errors can indicate that some other program (other than QuickTime itself) has sprayed old versions of QuickTime componentry into unorthodox locations on the PC.
Although the error 7 is most commonly associated with Apple Application Support or .NET framework problems, it can also be associated with QuickTime trouble ... so that's consistent with the old, misplaced QuickTime componentry troubles as well.
So I think we'd better check on that possibility.
You'll need to check some view settings on the PC first.
1. From the Start menu, click Open.
2. In the Organize menu, click Folder and Search Options.
3. Click the View tab.
4. In the "Advanced settings" pane under "Hidden files and folders" make sure that the "Show hidden files and folders" option is selected, and the "Hide extensions for known file types" option is unchecked.
5. Click OK.
Now go "Start > Computer".
In Computer, open "Local Disk C:" or whichever drive your operating system is installed on.
Open the "Windows" folder.
*If you have a 32-bit Vista,* open the "System32" folder.
*If you have a 64-bit Vista,* open the "SysWOW64" folder.
What files or folders can you see in there with QuickTime in the file or folder name? (In a standard installation of QuickTime, you should see precisely two files ... QuickTime.qts and QuickTimeVR.qtx ... and no QuickTime folders whatsoever.)

Can not install Desktop Manager because of DEP.

I've just got myself a BlackBerry Storm 1, and I'd like to install the desktop manager.
I've downloaded the install from the site and I tried to install it.
In the beginning it's going well, I start it, select my country... but then...
...When I've selected my country and I click next the install freezes and I get the DEP error.
I've looked around these forums, but I do not get any help.
Could someone please help me?
I'm pretty annoyed by this error.

Unfortunately no, like with most software installations, information has to be written to certain parts of the computer, such as the registry, and you can't just use a USB flash drive to run your applications.
This error is a Microsoft Windows error and occurs when Windows detects code running from a protected location. At this point, Microsoft is your best bet for support as this is not a BlackBerry Desktop Manager error.

Exclusão em massa de DEPÓSITOS associados ao CADASTRO DE ITEM

Bom dia experts!
Estou com um problema resultante de um processo que necessito alterar.
Em um processo de implantação, o cliente utilizou a configuração de TODOS OS DEPÓSITOS PARA TODOS OS ITENS. Ou seja, em um universo de 5000 itens, tenho 150 DEPÓSITOS pendurados em todos eles.
A questão é que, a medida que este processo vai aumentando (o número de itens vai aumentando no banco de dados) também aumentam os registros na tabela OITW e estou com receio disto causar algum problema para mim. Também está gerando contabilizações incorretas, já que até mesmo depósitos de processos de despesas podem ser selecionados na compra, por exemplo.
Gostaria de saber se existe algum processo em que eu possa tentar reduzir os depósitos de um determinado item ou grupamento de item, sem precisar excluir cada depósito um a um do CADASTRO DE ITEM.

O meu problema não é bem este, o meu cliente apenas cadastrou um depósito incorretamente, mas só de efetuar o cadastro do depósito este já aparece no cadastro dos itens para que se o usuário desejar configurar este como depósito padrão, porém nada foi feito, nem movimentação nem seleção de depósito padrão, nada mesmo. Porém o sistema bloqueia a exclusão desse depósito, fazendo-se necessário a entrada item a item do cadastro de inventário para a exclusão da linha que contém este depósito na aba estoque do cadastro de itens, o que gera um imenso trabalho. Gostaria apenas de saber se tem um jeito menos trabalhoso de se fazer essa exclusão. Obrigado

Mensagem de erro ao incluir uma conta no Depósito Geral

Depois de configurado as contas contábeis, as contas de determinação do "Depósito Geral" não foram preenchidas. Ao preencher as contas aparece a mensagem:
"Falta atualizar taxa de câmbio ' Contas de estoque'.
Todas as contas de determinação estão configuradas, porém o a mensagem aparece.
Por favor, alguem saberia me dizer o que seria esse erro ?

Controle de Item por Conta de Depósito

Pessoal, boa tarde.
     É possível optarmos pelo tratamento do controle de um item cadastrado conforme print abaixo? Onde teremos que controla-lo pelo estoque e em alguns documentos de marketing não deve ser feita alteração no estoque, pois o mesmo foi utilizado de terceiros e apenas precisamos lança-lo numa nota fiscal sem alterar o estoque.

No sistema você consegue alterar na linha da nota o depósito, só que isso dependerá do usuário que fará a nota (na imagem Wip99).
O que você pode fazer pra deixar automatizado, é criar uma consulta formatada que altere o campo pra você, por exemplo,, Venda escolha depósito X, quando for remessa, depósito Y.
Exemplo
Eu fiz uma regra assim na entrada de estoque, toda entrada deve ser feita no depósito LAM e não no WIP99.
A consulta DMK - Produção - Depósito.

ITunes, iPhone, will not work on Vista with DEP !!!

I am having a problem with the latest version of iTunes. If you have Data Execution Prevention (DEP) turned for "all programs and services" iTunes will lock up when you go to click on the iPhone tab in the iTunes preferences. You receive an error that Apple Mobile Device Helper has stopped working. Probably, this a new module added to iTunes for the iPhone and was not tested with DEP. The application wants to access the hardware in some way. When this happens you have to force close iTunes.
You can turn DEP on just for "essential Windows programs and services only" for an intern solution to the problem. I have not tried but I think we might have to add the apple mobile helper exe to the list of allowed applications in DEP.
I hope the apple engineers are reading the form and can look into this problem.

If your iPhone isn't being recognized in iTunes on Windows but is being recognized by your computer (can you see it in My Computer?); rather than remove/reinstall things over and over (which is an 'I hope it fixes itself' approach) just ensure that your iPhone can communicate with iTunes.
The iTunes installer isn't a very effective piece of software as you're probably noticed.
There overview of what we're going to do is:
1) We're going to make sure Apple's Mobile service is installed. By extracting the install file from the main setup file using WinRar.
2) We're going to make sure that service is started.
3) We're going to make sure the iPhone is using the right driver to talk to it.
You'll need to use the Device Manager, Services Manager and install WinRar. If these steps are too complex for you, just ask a friend to do them.
Start by closing iTunes and pluggin in your iPhone with the power on.
1) Now Make sure Mobile Service is installed (steps these follow)
a) Have a copy of the iTunes 7.5 setup file (download it if you don't have it)
b) Download winRar and install it.
c) After winRar is installed, right click the iTunes setup file (iTunes75setup) and choose extract to iTunes75Setup\
d) Go into the newly created iTunes75Setup folder
e) Double click AppleMobileDeviceSupport (.msi)
f) Install it
2) Make sure Apple Mobile Device serve is turned on via Services.
a) Go to start, run
b) type in services.msc and click ok
c) Find Apple Mobile Device, right click and choose start (or restart)
3) Install the correct driver for the iPhone via Device Manager
a) Go to start, run
b) Type in devmgmt.msc and click ok
c) Expand Imaging devices and right click Apple iPhone
d) Choose Update Driver
e) Choose 'No, not this time' radio, click next
f) Choose 'install from a specific location (advanced)
g) Choose 'Search for the best...'
h) Uncheck Search removable media...
i) Check Include this locaiton in search
j) in the text box type/paste the below line:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers
If any of the driver update steps are missing or differ on your system but you see the Apple iPhone device, then you can try to change its driver to the driver in the above listed folder using whatever steps yours shows.
If you're using a foreign Windows then the word 'Program Files' may be something different like 'Programmer' so change it accordingly... You can always click browse instead and manually find the folder.
k) click next, then after it installs click Finish.
Now you can open iTunes and it will be able to detect and talk to your phone.

ST.Line Mid month dep Key

Guys,
I need to configure a st.line mid month depreciation key for our 39 year building asset for area AMT & ACE, The standard key ACM is not producing the correct calculation.If I assign this key the following calculation is coming up ,
APC=26.171.89 Life:39 years, Acq date:12/10/2009( as per our FSV its our 2010-period 1)
dep is caculated as $335.54, which is half of the year's dep which should be $671.08, where as we want to have $671.08
for first year. What do I need to chnage in that key??.

we are using fiscal year variant from DEC-NOV and as of 11.30.2010 is our period 12,the last period of the year.and our fiscal periods doesnt correspondence to calender year.so now standrad key ACM with period control 06(03/03/03/03) calculating just st line in first year , which is $ 671.08, not $ 6433.11 which is mid month calculation .but its not happening ,any other idea in period control that could give me that mid month convention to work.but thanks for your helpo ,u been a great help to me ,I assigned full points to you.

ITunes wont work because of DEP

My itunes wont work because of DEP closing it. I have tried unistalling my quicktime and unistalling my itunes and reinstalling them but it still wont work. i have followed a couple of discussions but it still wont work. Can someone help me please.

Checking again. When you did your iTunes reinstall, was it a complete iTunes uninstall/reinstall as per the instructions from the following documents?
