I can't open my purchased films or view trailers in store. A note comes up to say iTunes has stopped working. It searches for a solution, is unsuccessful and closes the programme. I have uninstalled all programmes and reloaded but I get the same result. Any ideas?

Let's try the following user tip with that one:

I have already copied my photographs to the a library manager but when I tried to reuse iphoto and import the photos back into iphoto, it would not let me.
You can't "copy" your photos to the "library manager", there is just no way to any such thing.
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Let us go through the typical drill on your Premiere Elements 13 Window 8.1 64 bit issue, and then we can focus in more based on your replies.
    1. Does the problem exist with and without the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
    2. Are you using a pen and tablet device or mouse?
3.According to the Device Manager/Display Adapters, what video card/graphics card does your computer use? How many cards, and is driver version
    up to date?
    5. Are you running the program as Administrator? Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer?
Please look at the following solutions for 12 to determine if they will work for you in 13.
ATR Premiere Elements Troubleshooting: PE12: Premiere Elements 12 Editor Will Not Open
Have you tried to open the program by going to the Adobe Premiere Elements.exe file, right clicking it and selecting/applying Run As Administrator, and then double
clicking that file to open the program?
If none of the above works, then delete the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file in the path
    Local Disk C

    Owner
    AppData
    Roaming
    Adobe
    Premiere Elements
    13.0
and in the 13.0 Folder is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file that you delete. If that does not work, then delete the whole 13.0 Folder in which the
Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exists. Be sure to be making with Folder Option Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives enabled so that you
can see the complete path cited.
We will be watching for your results. Any questions or need clarification, please do not hesitate to ask.
    Thank you.

  • With the last two updates and downloads of iTunes, it no longer works on my PC.  I have tried removing and re-installing and I have tried the repair offered with download.  When I open iTunes, I get notice that iTunes has stopped working.

iTunes has stopped working on my PC with latest updates.

  • Just downloaded itunes. but i cant even open it, it just says,"itunes has stopped working, program will close.."

This is a brand new laptop that I just bought two days ago. I was hoping to have itunes on my own computer finally, so I could sort out my horrible music situation. The installation went perfect. But when I try to open it, before I even get a chance to do anything, a little screen pops up and says,"itunes has stopped working.." then it will change, and become "a problem has caused the program to stop. program will shut down." so what should I do ? I don't even get the chance to plug in my ipod.

I installed Itunes on my 64 bit Vista OS and it was working fine for about 3 weeks. Now I get an error message when I try to start Itunes now: "Itunes has stopped working"
I searched for a solution on here but it looks like Itunes doesn't support the 64 bit OS I have installed on my computer. I really hope they fix this. I've had my Ipod and Itunes for 2 years now. It's been a pleasure to own and I've bought many Songs from Itunes store. But, if I can't get it to work on my computer I may have to try to sell it for something that will work.

  • I found a solution for my "iTunes has stopped working" problem

iTunes was opening ok but would only play music; if I tried doing anything else like importing music or even navigating around it would crash with a "itunes has stopped working" message and shut down.
I uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes twice with no luck. I searched for hours for a solution and finally figured it out.
What the problem was is a corrupt user profile. I determined this by creating a new user account on my computer, opening itunes under this new account, and doing the things that would make it crash under my original account.
Since it worked fine under my new account, I had to then transfer all of my user profile info from my previous account to my new one. Which is kind of a pain in the butt but not too bad.
There are instructions for doing this on the Microsoft site. One thing to make sure if that you setup the new account as an admin (the way I did it, per the instructions, was to setup a third account that transferred the files from the original to the new account) and to share all files under the user profile with "Everyone" so that they can be copied and transferred. I did have trouble trying to copy all of the files at once and paste. It didn't work. So I ended up copying individual folders and pasting them into the new account. You only need to do this with the folders that contain your individual data, e.g. My Music, My Pictures, etc. The way I figured out which folders and files to transfer was trying to open them under the new account. If they wouldn't open, they didn't need to be transferred. Anyway, rely on Microsoft instructions for this, I'm not a computer wiz myself.
Hope this helps someone because it took me a couple of days to figure it out!

Adobe CS4 products were never meant to be transferred. It breaks the licensing and you get this error.
There is a License Recovery tool for the Mac, download that from:
Error "Licensing has stopped working" | Mac OS
For OSX 10.7 and above you can try fixing it using the Python Script and Terminal app. If you succeed, this will save you from Plan B, reinstalling Photoshop and illustrator plus all the updates.
    So basically
    Open Terminal
Type sudo and leave a space
Then download and unpack the LicenseRecovery111 dmg.
Inside you will find the License Recovery folder and inside that you will see "LicenseRecover.py
Drag LicenseRecover.py into the Terminal Window and press "enter"   You should see this:
Enter your admin password. Ignore the fact that the cursor does not move and press Enter again.
Follow the instructions, and when done, you can quit the Terminal.
It should then be repaired. Try starting your programs.

    Can you help?

I've also been getting the "itunes not working" message since yesterday when I try to import a cd or music files from a folder. After that message, itunes closes.
    That's a different issue, das.
First you need to check your precise version number. In iTunes, go "Help > About iTunes", and wait for the version number to scroll up from the bottom.
If it says *iTunes 10.1.0.54* , we need to update you to version 10.1.0.56 .
If you have 10.1.0.54 installed, 10.1.0.56 probably won't appear for you in Apple Software Update. So you'll need to download the 10.1.0.56 installer from the Apple Website, as per the following document:
[iTunes 10.1 for Windows: iTunes may stop working and need to quit while importing or syncing audio|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3591]

  • "iTunes has stopped working" when importing

Fresh Windows 7 install, fresh iTunes 10 install... iTunes sees and adds songs from the "Automatically import" folder... then after restart, it starts to perform the "Determining gapless playback information" process... usually gets somewhere between 400 and 800 songs in and craps out with an "iTunes has stopped working".
I searched on this error and found advice to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and Quicktime... that didn't help. I then removed all the songs to a different folder and started re-adding them a dozen or so folders at a time (there are several thousand folders holding about 40,000 songs, in total, so I have to do it in fairly large chunks, or it will take for-freakin-ever).
It worked fine for a while, but at some point started with the crashing again. Every time it's a different song, stopping at a different point in the process. I've started removing the song it crashes on each time (or at least, the last song listed on the "gapless playback" line), but there are about 4000 songs in this batch, so it will take a really long time if I keep going this way.
Any other suggestions on how to sort this out??

Just in case anyone else is looking for a solution for this...
In my case, I determined it to be a file or files that iTunes was adding that was corrupted or in some other way causing iTunes to choke. It appears that there was no direct correlation to the "determining gapless" process... it was something in the "Automatically add" folder that it would hit and crash on. I basically removed everything to another folder, deleted the library, then moved stuff back to "Automatically add..." a handful at a time. Not 100% sure, but I'm pretty confident that it was actually old podcast files that were giving version 10 fits.
So if you've run into this and the other suggestions don't help, check within the "Automatically add to iTunes" folder for a "Podcasts" folder (may be two to three levels deep), and remove that...

  • ITunes has stopped working while sync photos

I have been having problems since I updated iTunes to 10.4, it keeps crashing (itunes has stopped working) while sync photos. After uninstalling and re-installing the problem still stayed. I therefore tried sync photos a batch at a time (15 photos at a time) IT WORKED but I still cannot sync my videos. I think that the problem is that this new version of itunes cannot cope with big files and therefore it crashes. I HOPE THAT APPLE WILL SORT OUT THIS PROBLEM

downgrade to itunes 10.3 as 10.4 broke this feature. if not, just unclick the include videos box and your sync should complete. here's hoping apple fixes this in itunes 10.5.
