Hi Willy,
Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
The article below provides information about specific update and restore alerts, including the 9006 alert that you saw when attempting to update your iPad 2 to iOS 8.1. Try using the instructions provided to see if the issue is caused by a conflict with the security software on your computer.
Resolve iOS update and restore errors
Check your security software
Related errors: 2, 4, 6, 9, 1000, 1611, 9006. Sometimes security software can prevent your device from communicating with either the Apple update server or with your device.
Check your security software and settings to make sure that they aren't preventing a connection to the Apple servers.
I hope this helps,

  • HT1923 what do I do if I can't find Quick time in my Control Panel when trying to delete itunes

What do I do if after I install itunes on my PC and I get a warning that instructs me to re install itunes which I attempt to do but following the directions I cannot uninstall Quick time because it is not in my control panel???  Any ideas?

David's referring to the Preferences in QuickTime Player, just so it's clear.

  • My ipad freezes 5~7 seconds when I tried to delete apps.

Sometimes my ipad freezes 5~7 seconds when I tried to delete apps. 5 to 7 seconds later, question window appears.
    Is this normal working??

Try a reset and see if that helps : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

    iOS- Understanding passcodes
A Complete Guide to Recover Your iDevice if You Forget Your Passcode
If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.
Try restoring the iOS device if backing up and erasing all content and settings doesn't resolve the issue. Using iTunes to restore iOS devices is part of standard isolation troubleshooting. Restoring your device will delete all data and content, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, and calendar information, and will restore all settings to their factory condition.
Before restoring your iOS device, Apple recommends that you either sync with iTunes to transfer any purchases you have made, or back up new data (data acquired after your last sync). If you have movie rentals on the device, see iTunes Store movie rental usage rights in the United States before restoring.
Follow these steps to restore your device:
         1. Verify that you are using the latest version of iTunes before attempting to update.
         2. Connect your device to your computer.
         3. Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices.
         4. Select the Summary tab.
         5. Select the Restore option.
         6. When prompted to back up your settings before restoring, select the Back Up
option (see in the image below). If you have just backed up the device, it is not
             necessary to create another.
         7. Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you (as long as you've backed up,
you should not have to worry about restoring your iOS device).
         8. When the restore process has completed, the device restarts and displays the Apple
             logo while starting up:
After a restore, the iOS device displays the "Connect to iTunes" screen. For updating
to iOS 5 or later, follow the steps in the iOS Setup Assistant. For earlier versions of
iOS, keep your device connected until the "Connect to iTunes" screen goes away or
              you see "iPhone is activated."
         9. The final step is to restore your device from a previous backup.
If you can not restore your device then you will need to go to recovery mode.
Placing your device into recovery mode:
Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
         1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the other end
of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
         2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the
red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake
and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake
              and Home buttons.
         3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device.
The device should turn on. Note: If you see the screen pictured below, let the device
charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some charge, and then
             start with step 2 again.
         4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
When this screen appears you can release the Home button.
         5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following "recovery mode" alert:
         6. Use iTunes to restore the device.
If you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.
    Additional Information:
Note: When using recovery mode, you can only restore the device. All user content on the device will be erased, but if you had previously synced with iTunes on this computer, you can restore from a previous backup. See this article for more information.

  • Does Firefox change the installation date in control panel when they upgrade?

I installed Mozilla Firefox in early September. 6 weeks later I noticed the installation date for Firefox in control panel had changed from September to October (appeared as if it had been uninstalled and reinstalled). I uninstalled it, and reinstalled it, and I noted the date of installation, October 18. I kept an eye on it. November 5, I checked the control panel, I noted the installation date had changed again, to November 1. Now my dates may be off a day, but is it normal for Firefox to change the installation date when upgrading, and even more disturbing, is it possible to do it without the user knowing it's being done? And remotely?

Each time you update any program, you install it. The installation date in Control Panel will therefore update accordingly. This happens when the installer runs on your system: there's no remote interference involved.
By default, Firefox updates automatically. The setting is found under Options - Advanced - Update. If you click the Show Update History button there, you'll no doubt find Firefox was updated on November 1st.

  • How do I retain the control panel when working crossdomains?

I’m using the crossdomain.xml file to allow access to
the swf, flv and SteelExternalAll.swf files from another server.
This works fine except that the control panel doesn’t appear,
and there is a blank white space where it should be. How can I fix
    this?

Since you are doing "screengrabs" why not do the "crosshair" shots?  This way you get exactly what you want.

  • HP Pulse Subwoofer works in Control Panel but not in WMP/iTunes, etc.

I have a Touchsmart Envy 23 and bought an HP Pulse Subwoofer for it. It worked fine for a couple of months, then one day it just stopped putting out sound when I play music from iTunes or Windows Media Player.
However, when I go into Sound in Control Panel and select Speakers/Headphones on the Playback tab, then click on Configure, the subwoofer works fine when I click on it in the Speaker Setup screen.
It doesn't sound like a driver problem because I don't believe I would hear anything on the Speaker Setup if that were the case. Nor is it an app problem because it occurs with both iTunes and WMP, and in any event I don'tsee any options in either app for choosing between stereo and 5.1 sound (I do not have surround speakers, just the built-in stereo speakers and the subwoofer). Does anyone have any ideas how to get the sub working again?
    This question was solved.

Ok, here's a few things that you may try
    1) Uninstall drivers from device manager and restart computer, the drivers will be reinstalled automatically on reboot.
    2) if does not resolve, then Find the Recovery Manager, Reinstall the Audion Drivers from that application & restart.
    3) If this does not resolve, then i believe that there is a new driver available for the audio card, visit http://support.hp.com  to get it
    4) As a last resort, because the other user acocunts are also not helping, i would recommend a backup and resinstall.
I can provide detailed instructions if you need thhem and do give me your PC's Product Number the next time you send a reply. I can then provide information specific to your product.

  • Ipad seems to have glitch when playing music in itunes and other music apps

When using the generic music player on my ipad it often freezes for upto 20seconds when i wish to play another song.  this usually happens when i try to change track while the previous song is still playing.
Will there be a fix for this?

    Hello TheDonsCheek,
Thank you for providing the details of the issue you are experiencing with the audio when nothing is playing in iTunes on your MacBook Pro. I recommend reviewing the following article to see if any third-party plug-ins could be causing the problem:

  • Why is my iPad storage space filling up when transferring purchases to iTunes?

    Hi there,
    Hopefully somebody can help.
I recently bought an iPad & it's been great, but I noticed when I was Transferring my purchases from my Pad to my Mac, my iPads disk space starting filling up under the 'Other' catagory.
Why is it doing it? Surely it shouldn't be putting anything on to my Pad?
Now my storage space is almost full, but I have nothing on my iPad that wasn't there before.
    Thanks for your time.
    Paul

Okay, first thing is to look at all your iTunest tab settings like music, movies, podcasts, etc... to make sure you don't have it set to automatically download new content onto the iPad.  If so, anything you've purchased on your computer will then turn around and try to load itself onto your iPad.
The next thing would be to do a restore to factory settings and then re-sync using your most recent backup, assuming you have a good backup.  Once in a blue moon the data on the iPad can get corrupt somehow and give all kinds of false readings on how much memory is being used, etc...  The restore usually fixes it.
    Best.
