TS1717 iTunes freezes often

Is there a number to reach customer service. It continues to ask for my serial number, I do not own a mac computer. My Gateway Laptop Serial number is not acceptable. I just need assistance with stopping the issue of my iTunes library (which is extensive) continually freezing and taking a long time for it to check my library when lauching iTunes. Because customer service keeps asking for a serial number, that is as far as I get. Please help.

I have FF, but prefer Chrome these days due to stability issues. Even so, I fired up FF, disabled iTunes Application Detector like you suggested just in case there was something that might be effected by this. Unfortunately, it made no difference. Plugging in my iPhone launches iTunes, it displays the outline of where the window would be (literally just a thin black box with shadow background - NOTHING else) on my 2nd monitor, then it hangs iTunes.

We had the same issue. Backtracking, it turned out that it began after our techie updated our home network - for whatever reason, the main computer no longer holds the LAN settings properly after being restarted.
It's an easy fix (until he gets back from the west coast and can fix it permanently): after I boot the computer each day, I open IE, go to "tools" - "internet options" - "connections" - "LAN settings" - check "automatically detect" and uncheck "use proxy server."
Once I do that, CDDB comes up wonderfully and imports all the data I need.

My iTunes is slow and often freezes. When I plug my iphone 5 into my computer it automatically freezes. I can't do anything and have to use the task manager to exit. I am using the most recent software 11.1.5. I have tried uninstalling and repairing, I have also searched on the internet for things to do to help but none have worked so far. I am also using windows 7. I did not have this problem before installing the new software.

Ok so I've tried opening iTunes in safe mode and creating a new account but neither seems to work. ITunes continues to freeze when I try to sync my ipod up to the computer. I know it isn't my computer because iTunes is the only program that freezes up. If anyone has a solution to this please help. I'm getting frustrated.

TS1717 iTunes freezing when accessing Media folder located on NAS

I'm running the latest version of iTunes on Windows 7 (64bit)

My Media is located on a QNAP TS412 NAS.
I have a desktop machine that accesses the Media without issue.
However, when I launch iTunes on my laptop after a short while the application will freeze.
If however, I point iTunes to a media folder on the local hard drive no problems are encountered. Any ideas?

Like the poster in the second thread, I'm most disinclined to trash the folder as it has all my music from years of collecting on it!
The Finder behaviour is like this:
In Icon view, you can see the two sparsebundles and the Media folder, but clicking on the Media folder causes it to disappear.
In List view, the Media folder is simply not visible.
In Column view, the Media folder is visible but clicking on it reverts the focus back to the root level of the drive. The Media folder icon flashes momentarily and reappears.

Windows 7, Itunes 10.1.2.17, Touch 2nd gen, Won't sync and itunes freezes.

Just downloaded the latest update for itunes and the touch. Now whenever I try to sync itunes won't recognize it and the entire program freezes. The rest of the computer is fine (other applications, internet).

ITunes freezes on Sign In to iTunes Store - Windows 7 64 bit

In the last 48 hours I have not been able to use my iTunes software as it hangs immediately after launching.
I have tried a number of options to rectify the problem including Repairing the iTunes installation, Uninstalling/Reinstalling the program and System Restore to name a few. After some hours of searching I have established (after reading support.apple.com/kb/ts1717) that when I remove the Roaming Preference Files I am able to run iTunes however at this point it no longer automatically signs into the iTunes store. The problem arises as soon as I enter my user id and password the program becomes unresponsive.
I would appreciate any thoughts or suggestions anyone could provide to help rectify the problem.

Latest version of iTunes (10.5.2.11) and iCloud 1.0.2.17 installed. Only installed iCloud on the latest update.
iTunes frequently froze, so I deleted my roaming profile (having read of others having success by doing this).
iTunes now launches fine, downloads subscribed podcasts etc, I can access the iTunes store, but as soon as I try to log in using my apple id then itunes freezes and must be closed using task manager.
I'm using Windows 7 32bit.
I just tried launching the iCloud control panel and it froze up too. Uninstalling iCloud didn't seem to fix the problem.
I can buy apps etc through my ipad and iphone, so maybe I can use itunes without logging into the store, but frankly I wish I could ditch itunes as the interface for my iphone/ipad.

When i connect to my computer itunes freezes

I have ipod shuffles and use itunes a lot. However when i plug my iphone 3gs into my computer itunes freezes and i cant put any music onto my phone.
I have been throught the troubleshooting on the website and it doesn't help.

ITunes freezes MY ENTIRE MAC

This just started happening a while ago and it didn't bother me much until I had just lost a bunch of data due to this problem
Basically, everytime I play a song in iTunes, it might seem to go well after a couple songs, but then at random points that happen very often now, iTunes freezes and I just see the song length stuck at 0:00
The weird part is taht the song actually plays ALL the way through without any problems, but my entire mac is frozen now...
I can only move my mouse, which is useless because the dock, background, iTunes, EVERYTHING is now frozen
The only solution I have is to hold down the power button and do a hard restart
Repairing Disk Permissions doesn't do anything and scanning my Mac says its fine...
So can someone tell me what's wrong?

I think the newest iTunes is a bit buggy. I have those complete system freezes if I start some movies one after another for testing purposes. All goes well unti film 3 or 4 and then the whole MBP stalls. Only help - reboot.
Another thing: every movie or TV show stalls after a certain time for some moments and jumps forward some seconds. After that stall, all runs OK, only some seconds later a short stuttering is noticeable.
I have a very large audio library on a external drive as primary drive. I leave the movies on another external drive w(o copying to the primary drive. So I just think, iTunes is stretched to its limit and has memory problems. The iPod classic 160 had those in the first weeks after its appearance, too. Lots of people with large libraries exchanged their iPods w/o effect. I was patient and now at least that works fine.
