TS1717 iTunes Music Download issues

I have an iPhone 4s. Frequently when downloading songs from iTunes on my phone it freezes, starts over and then gives me an error message. I have been trying for over a week to download one song now. This is frustrating. And no I do not want to download it at home and convert it to my phone later. The convience of having iTunes on my phone is to get the music I want when I want it.

I am having a similar problem. I purchased an iTunes Essential package but only half of the songs downloaded. I have the 34 iTunes songs are available for download in the download file but nothing happens when I click on the button, no error message, no nothing.
I have been in touch with Apple and have gotten their perfunctory responses all of which indicate that I have the problem not them. I asked for a refund for the songs purchased and billed but not received, but no response to that age old customer service solution.
The last fix from them was to backup my iTunes files uninstall iTunes and then reinstall it. If that doesn't work they offered to provide me with a phone number for a customer service call that I might have to pay for!! I have decided not to uninstall and reinstall the software. I'm madder than **** and I will continue to send them problem message after problem message for as long as it takes to get them to refund my money.

  • ITunes Music Download Issues - Purchased Music Not Displaying in iTunes

I am having trouble with iTunes. This is what the problem is:
    1) Purchased music / TV from iTunes.
    2) Paused downloads.
    3) Closed iTunes.
    4) Later re-opened iTunes
    5) Went to Store > Downloads
When I do this, the media which I have purchased, but not yet downloaded is not listed. At the bottom of this screen, it reads "62 iTunes Downloads Available." When I click on the download button, or go to Store > Check for Available Downloads, I receive the error "Unable to check for available downloads: the iTunes store is temporarily unavailable."
This has been happening yesterday and today. On two seperate networks. And this is also happening for my wife, who receives the same error on her iMac.
The odd thing is that I CAN purchase new music. If I purchase an album right now, the purchase goes through and the download begins. This indicates that I AM connected to iTunes. However, if I pause the downloads, close iTunes, and try to resume the downloads later (or download items that have been purchased, but not downloaded), than iTunes is unable to make the connection to the store.
My internet connection is working just fine. And as I said, I am able to connect in certain circumstances, but not others. Any suggestions? This seems to be a software flaw.

  • Itunes music download issue - how to fix?

I purchased an album from itunes, but the songs don't play all the way through.  The length of the songs downloaded appear to be right, they just don't play all the way through.  Now what?  I'd like try downloading the album again, but I don't want to be charged a second time for the same purchase.

How do I delete an itunes music download?

Bring up your song list, find the song you want to delete.  Swipe the song right to left, tap delete box.
songs with a cloud icon next to them are not actually on your phone.

  • What is the iTunes music download format?

I want to download songs as lossless files and burn a CD.  What is the iTunes music download format?

For songs, it's 256Kbps AAC; Apple doesn't sell music as Apple Lossless. For podcast episodes, it's whatever the creator chose.

  • Itunes music download statistics

    Working on a project.
How can I get the itunes music download statistics by year and genre, etc?

iTunes is using your feed at
    http://idisk.me.com/keith_bowden/Public/AuralPleasures.xml
The other feed contains the redirect tag and if it's more than about two weeks since you placed it there you can remove this feed as no longer necessary (the extra delay is for the benefit of subscribers, to redirect their own iTunes applications).
iTunes does not provide any sort of statistics. Whether it's possible to get the statistics from your server depends on whether it can offer the required facilities. This Apple Tech note briefly explains a method of doing this, and I'm afraid that as it's outside my experience I can't comment further on it.
Feedburner may be able to provide statistics, though you would need to confirm this with them before proceeding. You would need to submit your feed to them; they would then make their own version of it (adding quite a lot of muck in the process, most of which shouldn't be a problem as iTunes will ignore it). You would then need to go through the redirect process again to redirect iTunes to the Feedburner feed.
You should be aware that in doing this you lose control of your feed, and it's entirely possibly that should you ever want to redirect iTunes away from the Feedburner version you won't be able to.

  • Can't play itunes music downloaded from old account

I  have a bunch of iTunes music downloads I purchased on an old account using an old email many years ago. I no longer have the password and have looked but have not found a way to close out the old account and authorize the music downloads to my current account.
When I tried to retrieve info on the old account it asked me for my birthday. I chose the correct date but the response was the date was INCORRECT!!
    Beyond frustrating!!

    See this article.
iPod does not play content purchased from the iTMS.
"Only to find to my surprise that the DRM'd AAC (m4a) files that I was sent in replacement of MP3"
In replacement? Not sure what you mean by that.

  • ITunes Music Folder Issue:  Won't Read External Folder?

Hi There. Just bought a new Mac Mini and installed a time machine backup on to it to mirror it with my latest laptop settings. So far, everything has been breezy, except for iTunes. I have an external drive with about 200GB of music/movies that I want to use with the Mini. When in advanced iTunes preferences, I change the iTunes Music Folder location to that of the external drive and click "Change".
I get no errors or anything, then iTunes tells me it is updating the library, but it is still the same old (internal) library. For the life of me, I cannot get it to change it to see my external. Any advice? I thought it might be an XML issue, so I moved the XML file but it didn't change anything. Is the "Add to Library" option my next best bet? I'm ok with that as long as it doesn't actually add the files to my internal hard drive and keeps all of the items sorted correctly. Is the last case scenario to reset iTunes? How would one do that? Any advice appreciated!

When in advanced iTunes preferences, I change the iTunes Music Folder location to that of the external drive and click "Change".
Okay. iTunes will use that folder for everything in the future. Anything added to iTunes will put into that folder if you have *Copy to iTunes music folder when adding to library* ticked.
If there is any previous items in iTunes, it will continue to look for them where they were.
I thought it might be an XML issue, so I moved the XML file but it didn't change anything.
The .xml is generated by iTunes simply for other applications. iTunes does not use it at all.
Is the "Add to Library" option my next best bet?
It's the only option since this is how you add files to iTunes (along with Import when RIPping from CD).
If you want to have the items in the new location in iTunes, you need to File -> Add to library and select the location on the external.
I'm ok with that as long as it doesn't actually add the files to my internal hard drive
See 1st comment in this response.
and keeps all of the items sorted correctly
    Depends.
The sort in iTunes is whaichever column you are selected on.
If you are talking about the "sort" in the Finder/on the HD, then iTunes sorts by Artist/Album/Song name. If you do not want this, you need to to uncheck *Copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library* and uncheck *Keep iTunes music folder organized*.

  • ITunes Plus Download Issue

I paid to upgrade my entire iTunes library (all that qualified for an upgrade) last week. It came out to a little over 1000 songs. I successfully downloaded around 700 of the songs - each time I would check for downloads it would fetch either 125 or 250 at a time.
All of a sudden the iTunes store has gotten stuck in that I can not continue to download the iTunes Plus upgrade songs. I can make new purchases - like individual songs or albums - and download them just fine. When I try to fetch the remaining iTunes Plus downloads I get the following error:
"Unable to check for available downloads. The network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, then try again."
Obviously my connection is OK since I can still make new purchases. Also, my wife was able to upgrade her library to iTunes Plus just fine - on the same exact machine. Only my remaining iTunes Plus songs are "stuck."
    I found the link below:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1606154
It seems to be the same issue. I contacted iTunes technical support but they keep insisting it's a connection issue. Anyone know who to contact to get this fixed? It should be obvious that my connection works after all that I've described.
    Thanks

Thanks to the person who took the time to understand the posted question and provide a genuine answer - purchase an iTunes song using iTunes on my computer first, which forces iTunes to present the extended iTunes Plus agreement for you to accept, after which you can then sync the iPhone and it picks up the extended agreement and will then work properly to purchase and download iTunes Plus content.

  • ITunes music card issues

I just purchsed an iTunes music card.
After I have put in my details(ID,password) a box comes up saying - This Apple ID has not yet been used with the iTunes music store. Please review account information.
When I click review it try's to get me to sign up for a new account(which I can't do because I do not have a credit card so I can't get past the credit card info page).
If anyone has had experience with either of these problems could they please help me out??

    It's a little bit tricky:
Don't try to log into your id at first.
Logged off from any account, just redeem your voucher - then enter your ID/PW.
Now you will have to review your details again, but there is a small checkbox to continue without entering CC details.

  • Itunes plus downloading issue

Am having issues downloading iTunes Plus tracks, they download in the normal time, but once done, they hang while the file is processes, this can take a another 5-6 minutes per track, normal non plus tracks do not have this issue. Clearly this is not ideal as it takes 3 hours to complete one album....
    computer details:
dell inspiron 1100 upgraded HD to 160gb
    RAM is 1gb
    iTunes is latest version
no anti virus is running except windows firewall.
    XP is service pack 3
    thanks for any suggestions

Trust me bugeyedbrit, you're far from the only one. I'm having the same problem right now and boy am I upset. It seems that more record labels have gotten on board with iTunes Plus so after months of little or no activity if suddenly found about $300.00 worth of music for me to upgrade. While I'm delighted, that more record labels are now iTunes Plus, the freakin' downloads are just outright atrocious! You know how long it's going to take me to download all of these? God a few days at best, I mean I HAVE a cable high speed connection and I'm more that able to download around 5 songs that = 30 MBS or so at 10 seconds. The songs if you notice and I see most of you have download pretty fast but this "processing file" whatever the **** that is, is taking pretty much freakin' FOREVER!! I don't understand this, so I don't think it HAS anything to do with any one of our connections, it's definetly on iTunes side that this issue is with. Like I said I see that they download fast enough but this processing bit is taking an eternity.
Btw I'm able according to my cable company to download at least 5 songs at the same time that are up to 40 MBS in about 11 seconds or so and the most iTunes Plus will upgrade is about 3 songs together. But even so if it was able to upgrade more at the same time the processing would take all that much longer.
Hasn't anyone shot off a letter to iTunes support about this? I've submitted questions to them in the past that to this day they flat out REFUSE to answer with the proof being lack of any response whatsoever. Nice, arrogant buttheads.

  • HT201272 iTunes music downloads missing contents

    Hey guys,
really hoping someone out there can help me.I recently downloaded an album, but I'm missing a number of songs. I can't download them again because it says it has been purchased.
When they were downloading I was having issues. iTunes kept freezing up and saying "processing", but nothing would happen for quite a while. So I restarted my computer, and now the songs that were processing are the ones that are missing.
Is there any way I can get them back without it costing any more money?

Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then do they show under the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes for redownloading ? If music shows there, but those tracks on that album don't have the cloud symbol against them for redownloading, then are those tracks listed in the Music part of your iTunes library (i.e. where you would click on them to play them) ? If they are still listed there (iTunes will be seeing them and assuming that you have the full track and that there is no need to redownload them) then try deleting them from there and they should then get the cloud symbol in Purchased for redownloading.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music then try the 'report a problem' page to contact iTunes Support : http://reportaproblem.apple.com
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work then you can try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • HT4796 iTunes music downloaded from pc to mac book air

I have just used the migration assistant to download my itunes  from my PC but it has gone into a separate folder when I open up my mac book air.
So now I can either log into that or my macbook.  is there a way of now putting all my music into the iTunes on the mac book without having to open the other log in every time?

  • ITunes music download

So, I just got a new credit car and everything is okay. I bought the new ed sheeran cd and was waiting for it to download, it downloaded 3 sings until they got to the 'processing ' part of the download and now they are all frozen? I don't know how to fix this, it has been almost an hour and they are not downloading.
Ps. My music app keeps crashing whenever I click it too.

It's locked because of the DRM on the file. The song is only going to work using iTunes. However, if the song is offered in the iTunes Store as an iTunes Plus version...then you will have the ability to use the plus version of the song in another application.
Hm...this may be of some help to you. It can explain it a little better.
