TS1717 iTunes says " Accessing iTunes Store " but isn't opening store after a long time. What is wrong with my computer?

Whenever I try to open the iTunes store off my Windows7 laptop , this is the screen I see. My computer is usually pretty fast and whenever I do it on my house computer ( which is 50 times slower) it comes up quickly.  All it says is iTunes is  "Accessing iTunes Store" and I've tried everything from turining off my laptop to taking the battery out to uninstalling and reinstalling the iTunes store. Please help. Thank You.

Okay ... niot entirely sure what's going on with that.
If we can't check for conflicts with Autoruns, we could instead just try clearing out the Winsock registry key manually.
Let's try wiclee's instructions from the following post:

Please sign out of FaceTime and sign back in. If there's no change, log out or restart the computer and try again.

  • HT201240 I've tried the suggestions in "changing or resetting an account password", and when i reboot and do command + s, instead of "root" it says "shell".........what's wrong with my computer!

I've gone in and tried to reboot my computer, A FEW TIMES!, with the command + s stuff, and instead of the "root" it says I'm supposed to get, my computer says "shell"...... I don't know if I did something wrong with my computer, but I need to get back on. I called Apple Support, and they told me that since it's out of my warranty, there's nothing they can do. I can pay 40 freaking dollars to talk to someone, and get a 30 day thing, but *** is that gonna do? I just need back on my computer so I can do homework and get my life back to normal.
I'll try anything, unless it includes spending money, or taking my computer to an Apple Store. There isn't one within 100 miles of me.

  • I was just using my iPod this morning. I turned it off after using it, but when i opened it in the afternoon, i couldn't connect to my wifi anymore. I tried resetting the network but it still didn't work. I wonder what is wrong with it?

    - Do other devices successfully connect using your network?
    - Does the iPod successfully connect to other networks?
    - Reset the iPod . Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on your router

  • My ipod just shows the grey reset screen but it won't play music it shuts off what's wrong with it?

I recently scanned my ipod because my computer wasn't recognizing it and so I let it scan for awhile after about an hour or so I decided to cancel the scan bc it was taking an unusual amount of time. I didn't eject first without shutting down the norton program, but soon after my ipod stopped playing music and it freezes and shuts down now when I want it to play. What's wrong with it, can anyone help me?

I am experiencing the same thing on log out, not all the time but too often. I can get going again by shutting down with the power button, waiting 10 sec. then pressing the power button to boot up again. I have run Disk Utilities, Techtool Deluxe and Disk Warrior which all indicate everything is OK. So I am hoping someone will be able to help us with this issue.

  • Just lately, my iPod has been saying that it's connected to wifi, but when I try to use the wifi and use an app that requires wifi, it keeps saying things like 'Cannot connect to server' when it clearly is 'connected'. What's wrong with my iPod?

Also, when I tried to connect my iPod to my MacBook Pro, and sync it into iTunes, 'iTunes could not connect to this iPhone.' First it's not an iPhone, and second, my iPod could sync perfectly fine before the wifi problem. Is there a way to return it back to normal; fix it? Someone please answer.

  • What is wrong with my computer I replaced the fan but it's not running

Thank you Allan Eckert that would of helped but right now I figuired out what exactly was wrong. My mac seems that it's fan doesn't run after the replacement. Litterly what I did to test this is test another mac with smc control and that one ran at 2000rpm for fan speed. My mac fan does not run at all its at 000rpm. How can I fix this problem myself besides apple if I can? Any suggestions? Yes It's a 13 inch mac book pro we have 3 but one for each of us. I would like to know why isn't it running thank you for the help if you can give any answers.

It should always be running a little bit whenever the Mac is on.
The part could be defective, or the wires on backward.

  • I have a Windows 7 Computer.  When I go into itunes store, it comes up, and I can navigate in it, but a box keeps appearing saying accessing itunes store.  I then get a session timed out, so can't purchase anything.

I own a Windows 7 computer.  I can get into itunes okay, and I can get into the itunes store okay.  After I am in the store, a box keeps appearing that says "Accessing itunes store".  It goes on and off.  I am able to navigate when the box is not showing.  If I try to download music,  I get to the point where I need to agree to the agreement contract, then says "Session Timed Out."  I have the latest versions of itunes and all my Windows Updates.  What can I do about this?

I was struggling with this since my latest Itunes update.  Fiirst it would not recognize my IPad as a device, after correcting that, it would list the Ipad in my device but my Sync had no options (summry, info, etc). and it kept saying it was "Accessing Itunes store".  reading your question I suddently tried deleting the itunes task (alt-ctrl, delete, processes) and delete Itunes.  (By the way, I had rebooted my computer several times over the last few days).  I opened up Itunes, and voila. Device is there. No "accessing windows" and my sync has the normal options.
****..feels good to actually write an answer rather than writing a questions.

  • Trying to open itunes store...it just says accessing itunes store in the bar at top...but doesn't open?

Im trying to open itunes store, but the bar at top just continues to say "accessing itunes store" and it doesn't open?

    I'd try the following document:
Apple software on Windows: May see performance issues and blank iTunes Store
(If there's a SpeedBit LSP showing up in Autoruns, it's usually best to just uninstall your SpeedBit Video Accelerator.)

  • Is the itunes store down? It will not open for me. I go to the "itunes" tab once i'm in my library, and it says "accessing itunes store" but nothing happens.

when attempting to connect to the itunes store, the status message says "accessing itunes store..." but never connects.  how do i resolve this?

    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 n above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

Will not open iTunes status bar keeps scrooling saying "accessing iTunes"  (but it never ever opens.  Just keeps spinning.  And because it does not open itunes it does not pick up or reconize my iphone when I plug it in.

As I mentioned above, I am not very tech savvy so I have no idea why a wireless protocol would be showing up there, I'm just listing everything I see in hopes that someone might know something I can try. This is why I am asking for help here - I'm not sure what has happened that has made me unable to connect, especially since it seemingly occured while nobody was using the computer.
I guess I should clarify that I'm not a total hillbilly- normally my firewall is set to 'on', but I set it to 'off' to try and troubleshoot the issues here as I was told that sometimes it can interfere with the computer's ability to connect to the internet. If this is not the case and firewall does not affect anything, I will turn it back on while I try to fix this.
I have tried the method you mentioned above a few times - I actually contacted my ISP earlier this week and they recommended resetting the router like that. They didn't mention any known network issues.

  • When I am on iTunes, a bar that says "Accessing iTunes Store" comes up every few seconds. To continue shopping or play my music I have to wait for it to load to disappear, and it comes back immediately. It comes up whenever I click something.
