TS1717 Itunes wont open
I have just loaded itunes on a new computer. When I either try to open the program or attach my ipod I get the user agreement. When I click accept I get program not responding and the detail of the message is APPCRASH. What is going on?
Looks to me like Apple's iTunes update isn't applying newer versions of:
Apple Application Support
Apple Mobile Device Support
These are built-in to the setup.exe. The consumer way of fixing them is a total uninstall of iTunes and the above packages. You can include Bonjour but I don't think that's causing the problem. Now when you install iTunes it gets the latest version of these.
More advanced users can extract the applemobiledevicesupport64.msi and appleapplicationsupport.msi files and run these if already at iTunes 11.1.4. Include the itunes.msi/itunes64.msi if it's an older version of iTunes that's broken. Doing this has repaired my clients without the messy/lengthy process described by Apple on http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376

TS1717 Itunes wont open - problen is identified as BEX how do I fix it?
I can't get itunes to open using windows vista - keeps saying issue name is BEX
Here are the two ways that I run apps as admin in Win 7. Would recommend trying the first method to see if it works before you use the second method.
First: I use this one if I only need to do it occasionally (you may find this way tedious after a few days). Right click on iTunes and the context menu will pop up. Click on "Run as administrator" then another popup will open asking you to confirm if you want to allow iTunes to have admin privilleges (this happens every time any app requests higher privelliges), choose yes and if our issues are the same iTunes should load.
Second: The semi-permenant method, again I'd say try the other method first to see if this will work for you. Right click on iTunes like before but choose Properites, then go to the Compatibility tab. At the bottom you have the ability to give iTunes admin privilleges every time it loads. Check that box, then click apply then OK. You will still see the box I mentioned earlier (I can't get a screen shot of it) asking if its ok to run with higher rights, but this way is a couple of clicks less.
Let me know if you have any more questions. -
TS1717 itunes wont open with my iphone
due to having another computer... my iphone wont connect to itunes so i can download etc....
also my son has my old ipone which means has my old iphone email and password and it works on his phone. even though i deleted my info from his phone. yet he did make his own email and password with his own apple ID. can you help us please!! thank you )))Absolutely. I have done everything in the online forums under the trouble shooting section. Restarted my computer, restarted the phone, switched usb ports, performed a hard reset on the phone, nothing has changed. When I plug my phone in, my computer is registering it in the my computer section but when I run the diagnostic tests in Itunes it says it cannot locate the phone. I actually tried to download Itunes 8, the one I had when it was working, and no luck, it said something about having to use the newest version.

my itunes wont open, please help. ive already tried deleting it and reinstalling it but nothing seems to work.
Yes there is. You apparently have Hardware damage inside the iPhone from dropping it. You would need to take it into an Apple Store and Pay for an exchange unit, which Apple will do; Apple's Warranty does NOT include replacement for "accidental damage", so the Exchange is not free.

ITunes wont open windows 7 64-bit
Ive been searching for over an hour, iTunes wont open on windows 7 64-bit. The process is running in task manager. I did all of the troubleshooting steps on: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1717
I also have uninstalled and reinstalled.
I found some other threads and from what I can tell quciktime runs fine and it is not a conflict with Bonjour. I have disabled all non system process from running and it will still not open. Anyone have any suggestions?
Also I am running iTunes 10.5 but have also tried it on 10.2Solved problem by creating new iTunes library, see:
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1717
under User-specific Troubleshooting.
I dont know what the problem was or why this worked, but it did. -
itunes wont open at all, error message : quicktime was not found .... please reinstall ... i did that but no luck this only seems to have happened since the 10.4 update, im on windows 7 ..
Can you start QuickTime on your computer?
You'll probably have to search for the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility and use it to remove QuickTime Player and iTunes. Then download and install the iTunes again. -
Itunes wont open and when re-installed received this msg: Service Apple mob device failed to start. You have insufficent privileges to start system svc. Help?
Download Itunes from Apple.com, not from within Itunes.
Redo the install, following the below procedure. However, when you re-install Itunes, right click and run the install as administrator. For Win 7, you have to hold down the cntrl and shift keys when you right click and then "run as administrator" will be an option.
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Vista, Win 7 & later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

ITunes wont open only error message
iTunes wont open I only get an error message that reads. "The folder iTunes cannot be found or created and is required. The default location for this folder is inside the My Music folder" My music is on an exernal hard drive and it worked before I upgraded and now it wont work.
Please helphiya!
it's best to leave the "My Music" folder on the C drive. it's a Windows special folder, so having it out on an external can cause weird problems if (say) the drive letter assignment for the external drive changes.
okay, here's the best place to start:
iTunes for Windows: "Disk is locked" or "iTunes folder cannot be found" when installing or opening iTunes
... but if you run into the complication where "My Music" doesn't appear as an option in TweakUI, try the alternate technique from the following Nigel Carpenter post:

How can I disable phone number recognition in the built-in Notes app for iPhone 4S?
