I found a few articles that might help with the issue you are experiencing with the iTunes Store.

Itunes works, but the store will say "accessing" for a minute before just stopping and never connecting to the store. How do i fix this?

Basically happened (that I noticed) after I updated to latest itunes

Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

I'm having the same problem. I did a google search and it looks like it's an issue with others, too.

When i open itunes on my desktop the itunes store wont open

When i open itunes on my desktop the itunes store wont open, Ihave tried uninstalling and reinstalling but no good. I cant even sign in. System is win7 64bit if any of that helps. Thanks in advance for any help.

Itunes store wont open after update to 10.5

itunes store wont open and not able to back up my phone when i updated my computer with 10.5 (windows 7) help

So the Mic shows in System Preferences > Sound > Input tab but the volume adjustment makes no difference.
I have checked to see if MUTE, which would normally effect output had any effect and it does not. My blue bar still moves.
If System Profiler sees the Mic I would try deleting com.apple.audioDevices.Settings.plist from Hard Drive/Library/Preferences
These are the Preferences in the Library you can see when you open the Hard drive not the one in your home folder.
IF this does not bring the Mic back to full life it may need and engineer to tell you more.

My ipod is displying apple logo and wont start up, hard reset leaves it the same, disc mode works but iTunes doesnt "see" it even if the computer does.

It worked two days ago fine, for two years, until I installed this newest iTunes update, then for one day it kept on freezing and going to apple logo screen mode, then today it only goes to that screen and wont start up at all.
I've tried the hold down two buttons hard reset, that doesn't help. I've tried disc mode... but iTunes doesn't "see" it even if the computer does.
This is a pristine ipod, never exposed to adverse conditions, never dropped, never wet, and it worked perfectly two days ago.
Can I factory reset it somehow? (considering itunes can't "see" it)

"Plug into you laptop first, whichever set up you use that has iTunes, i know it won't read it, don't even open iTunes as of yet. Do the typical reboot "Menu +Center button at the same time" and hold it, DONT LET IT GO like we were told, when the apple pops up.. KEEP HOLDING IT it will make a new ding sound I've never heard before. and since its hooked to you laptop already an error message pops up and says apple will need to download something to repair your iPod. I had to do it twice, because my mac froze the first time, but its recognized it now and is downloading the software as we speak...
Now I've clicked the restore button and it's restoring... I'll post again if its a success, otherwise assume failure.

If a solution is found I hope someone posts it soon. I have followed everything iTunes has asked for: new account, new pass, new info, and finally upgrade to iTunes 10. After attempting to Download 10. I was told that my iBook did not meet the system specs. I had looked earlier and found no sys specs, so I presumed it would download. I was wrong. After going through all of that I still cannot access the store. I had none of this problem a mere 2 weeks ago. So somebody please post a reasonable solution.

1) authorize iTunes on your wife's user account for her iTunes store account(s)
2) connect the device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred her purchases in the previous step, your content will be in her library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it.

Try to force quit the app
Double tap the home button. When you see the app previews on the screen scroll sideways if needed to get the preview in question on the screen. Flick that preview up and off the screen to close the app. Single tap the home button or home screen preview to exit the mode.
