TS1717 preview songs clipped

When I preview songs in apple store, the connection drops abruptly after a few seconds before the alloted time comes to an end.I know it is not an internet connection issue. I recently switch from Mac to PC. I did not have the problem before using the PC. Any idea how to fix this?

This is an issue that has been going on since May - join the discussion here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/18646802?ac_cid=tw123456#18646802

Why won't the preview song play for more than 10 seconds?

Perhaps try resetting your iTunes Store Cache.
Go "Edit > Preferences". In the Advanced tab, click the "Reset cache" button shown in the following screenshot:
    ... and then click OK.
Restart your iTunes, and head back to the Store. Are you getting full previews now?

  • Can you preview songs at full length?

I am new to iTunes and in the process of moving from Napster. I am trying to find a way to preview songs from the iTunes store at full lenth... but no luck. This was an option in Napster for a small monthly fee.
Am I stuck with 30 second clips unless purchased?
    Thanks.

Thank You! While not the answer I was hoping for, at least I can stop trying to figure it out.

  • Very Bad performance when previewing song in iTunes 9 through new interface

Hi, Since upgrading to the new iTunes (9.0.2) I cannot preview the music any longer without many stops in the preview for the computer to re-buffer the download. There are so many that you cant listen to the song as you only get clips that seem to be less than a second long.
Before upgrading to 9 the previews played perfect. I then also went out to my AppleTV and tried to preview music which played perfect with no stops.
On further investigation in iTunes I recognized that if I go to the Browse area of iTunes (4 buttons down under your name where it says Welcome (and your name) on the Main menu of the iTunes store (not in music or movies etc)) I can still preview songs perfect with no interruptions! This area (the browse area) still displays music in the old way that iTunes 8 did with blue and white strips separating each song and the old buy buttons.
So the problem seems to only be happening in the areas of the iTunes store that has the new feature set in iTunes 9 for displaying and previewing music.
I also tried to go into the preferences to see if I could set settings to download the whole preview first before playing but that has been removed.
Finally I was in a hotel last week and tried to preview music and it worked fine in the preview. However, I find it hard to believe that it is a speed problem in my house since the ATV works perfect and the previews in the browse area play perfect.
This problem is happening on my home iMac / my Power book (3 years old) and my sons power book (1 year old). I am also up-to-date with all updates from the system side.
    Any suggestions?
    Alfredo

I have the same issue. It wasn't this bad until recently and my bandwidth has increased if anything. Terribly annoying. It very adversely affects my iTunes store experience and encourages me to look elsewhere for music.
Yes, I have the buffer control set to large. Why don't they have an option to download the whole preview before playing like they used to?
    Any solutions?

  • Previewing songs - automatic continuous play

When previewing songs in the "Browse" section, is there a feature that allows an automatic continuous preview of all songs in the list? Currently, I have to click on each individual song I want to preview. I'd like to set it up where after 30 seconds of one song, it automatically moves down to preview the next song in the list, and so on.

There has never been even an album preview like other websites.
I think you're asking a bit much for continuous preview of a browser list, it they can't even do an entire album list that never changes.
    Yes, I was being sarcastic.
You can contact Apple, if you think it will do any good:
itunes menu > help > Provide itunes support
Or an email page from here, you have to dig several levels to get to the email or chat buttons

  • Issue Previewing Songs in iTunes Store

When previewing songs in the iTunes store only 5-10 secs play instead of the full 90 secs.  Anyone know how to fix this?I

    1. Use these DNS: Google and Verizon DNS
    Primary DNS = 8.8.8.8 Secondary DNS = 4.2.2.1
    2. Then apply these instructions:
    Windows XP
On the Start menu, click Run.
In the Open field type cmd and click OK.
In the resulting window, type ipconfig /flushdns and press Return(Enter) on the keyboard.
You should see a message that the DNS Resolver Cache has been successfully flushed.
    Windows Vista and Windows 7
On the Start menu, point to All Programs > Accessories and then right-click Command Prompt and choose Run as Administrator from the shortcut menu. If Windows needs your permission to continue, click Continue.
In the resulting window, type ipconfig /flushdns and press Return(Enter) on the keyboard.
You should see a message that the DNS Resolver Cache has been successfully flushed.
Your problem should be 100% solved

  • Previewing Songs

I'm new to iTunes but used it several months ago. When I want to preview songs, I would search for a particular artist, click on the album, then all of the contents of that album would drop down. All I would have to do is click on it (in the blue and white section) and it would play the preview. None of the songs are dropping down. Can someone help or give me some suggestions?

Yeah, it's pretty buried, but it's in there under the "buying music" topics.
Click Music Store in the Source list, then find the song, music video, or album you want to buy.
You can double-click a song to listen to a portion of it and make sure it's the song you want.

  • Can i listen to more of a preview song?

Is there any way to listen to a different section of a preview song or listen to more than the 30 second preview? There is a song I'm interested in, but the preview doesn't include any of the vocal portion of the song. It just plays the instrumental part, and I'd really like to hear how the artist sounds before I purchase the song. Thanks.

thanks for getting back to me. that's a bummer. singer i've never heard sing, was "recommended" from my itunes account, can't even hear what he sounds like!

  • Why is PE10 very slow (broken) to preview wmv clip?

I realize that wmv clips are fairly processor intensive to decode or render, but I just encountered one (created by Google Earth Pro) that affectively breaks my Elements application.
When attempting to preview the clip from the project timeline, the preview display window only updates about every 5 seconds or so and the timeline cursor jumps similarly sporatically.  Even after playing beyond the wmv clip into titles and other mpeg clips, the preview process is obviously still bogged down.  I have to stop the playback and re-locate the time cursor somewhere outside the wmv clip to restore normal playback response.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be conflicting or causing the processing halt?  I'm running Win7 64-bit OS, on an i7 x990 (hex core) 3.47GHz processor with 24G of RAM and dual SATA hard drives.  Surely the hardware is capable of doing the processing, but I'm not sure about Adobe Premier Elements now.
    Regards,
    Roger Green

    Thanks for the suggestion.
I am currently using PE10 to compose/edit an HDV project off my camcorder, which is what its supposed to "good at", right?
The problem surfaced when I tried to paste in a short ~30sec wmv file as a title lead-in clip.  It is an "HD" clip created by GoogleEarth, and I did not have much control over the format other than requesting 1920x1080 HD in order to be comparable to other HDV content of my project.
I suspect it is heavily compressed and requires a bit of processing power to decode.  What I did not expect was for it to essentially "break" the Elements application. Afterall, it can decode and understand wmv formats.  However, it apparently can't figure out how to use my 12-processor cores to accomplish that.
Perhaps I should use the Windows MovieMaker to edit the wmv (shorten it a bit) and save to some other format that Premier Elements can deal with more efficiently?
    Thanks again!
    Roger

  • Computer won't play music in library or preview songs

Recently upgraded to iTunes 10.4. Now we are unable to play music in our library or to preview songs at the iTunes store. The sound card on the computer works just fine - test with videos or other non-iTunes libraries.

    Hi, thanks for your reply.
I tried dragging out the idvd plist, but it made no difference.
The old project opens, and all there is is one QT movie set to autoplay, but preview does not play. When I create a new project of the same thing, preview does not play either.

  • Preview Songs Stops Randomly w/ Win 7 & Solutions Not Working

SInce the 10.6 itunes update I have had issue with preview songs stopping randomly after between 7-20 seconds.  I have tried the recommended solutions on other posts to flush DNS cache files as well as repointing to open DNS server (8.8.8.8) to no avail.  I can preview music on other sites, notably Amazon, and other devices in the house can preview songs in itunes without issue including iphone, ipad, and mac notebook.  I am running WIndows 7 Home Deluxe version on Comcast gateway modem/router.  Given other devices work with itunes I don't think this is a router issues, and since my computer can preview music on other sites I don't think it is my machine.  I think there is an issue between Windows 7 and itunes that started with the 10.6  update.  I am very frustrated.  I have contact Apple Support via email with no reply.  Even went to local Apple store and they hadn't heard of the issue and wanted me to bring in my computer.  I am a cycle instructor and really depend on the preview song feature to find and purchase music and really need a solution.   PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE if you have a solution I would really appreciate a reply.
