TS1717 The network connection was reset

My iTunes has stareted giving me this message and I cannot login in to the iTunes store or update my apps.  Help?

OK, I have not dared plug anything into iTunes in this current state! I noted a comment in the earlier thread that logging out/in helped, but for me not so. Last year I had an iTunes store issue where a shipping address kept getting over-written and then it just cured itself.
I have just logged out any device with iTunes access - iDevices, ATV, iMac etc; Reset my modem and router and rebooted all my wireless network AES/AE etc. Still no joy!
I can create this issue logged in or with no account signed in on my iMac. All other devices working fine, so it is either an iTunes client or iTunes server problem.
Still waiting on Apple's Tech Support.

  • Hi, I am trying to update an iPhone 4 from iOS 4.3.3 to iOS 7.0.4, and every time I try to update it comes up with an error message saying that there was a problem because the network connection was reset. Is there any way I can get past this and update?

    The full message said:
There was a problem downloading the software for the iPhone "Judy's iPhone 4". The network connection was reset.
Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, or try again later.
I am trying to update the iPhone for my grandmother, Judy, as I am leaving for Paris on Wednesday night and we want to have Facetime installed on her iPhone before then, so we can stay in contact with each other. It is the simplest way for this to happen but the program simply will not allow me to update her iPhone.
Is there any way to get past this error and update her iPhone? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Dear Jody..jone5

  • Cannot connect to the iTunes store. The network connection was reset.

My iTunes has been messed up since August 17th. I am getting the error message; "Cannot connect to the iTunes Store. The network connection was reset. Make sure your network connection is active and try again." I am having no issues connecting to the internet or even receiving my podcasts. It just won't download my TV shows or let me shop. I have contacted Hewlett Pack. about this and iTunes/apple. No one seems to have an answer for me. I have disabled my firewalls, norton, done msconfig, allowed iTunes, everything. I am very frustrated and so are others that seem to be having this same problem. We need a genius!! Please help!

I suspect a location-driven problem here. I live in SHanghai, China - as does the poster above! I have this problem on three different computers using three different ISPs.
Anybody got a suggestion? Tried firewalls, turning off virus production, reinstalling iTunes, putting phobos.apple.com and such in the permitted list, all sorts of stuff, to no avail. And Apple help support just bounces me around - I've interacted via email with three people, finally graduated to a real person, and they sent me back to email when the usual "reboot your machine and reinstall iTunes, then turn off virus protection" didn't work.

  • Error message we could not complete your itunes store request. The network connection was reset. Make sure your network connection is active

Can Anyone help with this message which occurs when I am trying to update my iMatch, it says "gathering information about your library" & then after a few mins when the progress band gets almost to the end, I get the message "we could not complete your itunes store request. The network connection was reset. Make sure your network connection is active & try again"
Support has told me that its a problem with my connection, but I disagree, how come I can download countless songs from iTunes without ever getting this message, I think they are bullsh***g me to get rid of me.
I have even followed their advice & totally disabled all my antivirus, adwatch & firewall software & it still does it.
    Can anyone help with this

Hi mate, well I really dont know why but last night it started to work out of the blue, you might want to check yours again as they may have fixed a bug??
I did absoultely nothing different yesterday to make it start working, I had previously disabled all my antivirus, firewall, anti tracker etc etc & it didnt sort it.
The only thing that happened yesterday was my laptop went dead flat & I had to a reboot (dont choose System Resume, which I normally do) I chose the other option in error & had to wait nearly an hour whilst my PC "repaired files etc" & it also downloaded a load of updates (had that message "dont power off, as updates are in progress")
I really dont know if that sorted the issue or Apple fixed the bug yesterday but its working.
    Good luck

  • HT201210 Trying to restore ipod and keep on getting error message: the ipod software update server could not be contacted. the network connection was reset

Hello can someone please help? Trying to restore ipod and I keep on getting error message: The IPod software update server could not be contacted. The network connection was reset. Make sure your network is active and try again.

    Try:
    - Powering off and then back on your router.
    - iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
    - Change the DNS to either Google's or Open DNS servers
    Public DNS — Google Developers
    OpenDNS IP Addresses
    - Try on another computer/network
    - Wait if it is an Apple problem

  • HT201210 I tried to update my phone.  It does not work at all now.  I got the message Could not complete request.  The network connection was reset.  I have no phone.  Please help

I tried to update to the new ios 7 today.  I have no phone now.  I got the message "could not complete request.  The network connection was reset.  What is happening.  What do I do now?

Apple's servers are probably very busy. You may want to wait for a little while before trying again.

  • "Could not purchase album. The network connection was reset."

I have been trying to download the Pokemon X&Y soundtrack from iTunes for about a week now, and every single time I get one of two messages... "Could not purchase [album]. The network connection was reset. Make sure your network connection is active and try again." will appear when clicking "buy" before I can even put my username and password in. Occasionally it will let me put in my username, but then takes me to a slightly different box that I can't get it to do right now, but it says something to the effect of "Unable to download album. The connection was reset."
I looked on the Apple Support site and took its suggestion of performing a DNS flush, but that didn't change anything. I do not have the most reliable internet here, but I just downloaded an album a couple weeks ago on this network so it has worked before.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I have also been trying to download the album from my phone. I will click buy, it will say downloading for a minute, and then the buy button will just reappear. I try to click it again and I get a notice that my account is temporarily unavailable... what is going on??

  • HT1725 the network connection was reset. stopped err-3253

the network connection was reset. stopped err 3253

    I tried EVERYTHING.
Eventually I installed a new modem/router and hey presto - problem solved. I think that the modem was on its way out as the new modem has increased access and download speeds significantly.

  • The Network connection was reset everytime on different networks.

    Hello,
my problem has been exasperating as I have wanted to get my podcasts on to itunes for sometime. The first thing I did was suggested was run it through the feed validator that gave me the thumbs up and I thought everything would run smoothly. Sadly I have been getting a hard time going through the first phase.
Everytime I try to run my RSS feed through the submit podcast it works at it for a while and then comes up with the "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. The network connection was reset."
So at first I thought it was my computer and my home network. I disabled the firewalls and my anti-virus software and still received the same answer. I then checked my internet speed and the website gave that the double thumbs up as well.
Next I contacted one of my subscribers and asked if they could check out their feeds. Apparently my RSS feeds from my website work well and they are indeed alerted when we bring a new show out.
I also contacted my Website Host asking them about the status of the server and they said everything is going great. Next I asked a friend if he could try to submit the podcast through iTunes and he received the same thing.
I have spent many hundreds of hours producing radio drama in a podcast format but now I am able to go through any RSS feeder except itunes. What on earth can I do about it?

The feed looks OK and can be subscribed to manually in iTunes; so one of two things is happening.
    1. We've seen instances where a feed which worked elsewhere wouldn't work with the Store itself (which is a different matter from the iTunes Application when you subscribe). This appears to mean that the server is not responding properly to requests from the Store, though I've never seen an explanation for this. Only the people running the server can sort that out, by looking at the logs. I don't know how likely it is that this is the explanation.
    2. There may be a temporary problem with the submissions process: this is not unknown. You could try this alternative URL:
    https://buy.itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/publishPodcast
but if that doesn't work you could leave it for a day or so and try again.
