I have downloaded the 64bit itunes for windows.
The sound on my laptop is functioning for other applications such as youtube, crackle...
Has anyone else experienced and found solutions to similar issues?

Purchasing songs from other Itunes Stores

The selection of International music at the US Itunes Store is very limited, to put it politely.
While I can access, view, and listen to, all songs that are available at overseas Itune Stores, (such as Itunes in France); I cannot purchase them even though their price is shown in US currency (99 cents) and not in Euros.
Does anyone know how to purchase and download songs from these other Itune stores, or to contact a real live person at Itunes for help in doing so?

Unless you can show some form of residency you cannot buy from another country's store. The question on cross store purchasing is asked frequently so I'll just quote the most complete answer (courtesy of Dave Sawyer) from the many given:
In order to buy from any given country's iTunes Music Store, you must have either:
a) a credit card with a billing address in that country, or
b) a mailing address in that country and a gift certificate or a prepaid card that was bought in that country.
If you cannot fulfill one of these two sets of conditions, you will not be able to purchase from any given country's iTMS.
.......this is due to restrictions placed on Apple by the record companies and other rights holders (who are often completely different from country to country and so all require their own individual negotiations and contracts), not by Apple's choice. And this also applies to all the legal download stores that carry major-label content, not just the iTMS.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

I am trying to download songs from a German or Swiss ITunes store but the system tells me I can't because my ITunes account is only good in the USA.

iTunes accounts are not international...if you reside in the US and do not have a European issued credit card and physical address in Europe you cannot download from those stores. Plus you must be in the country at the time of the download.
This comes up regularly, the issue is copyright law and royalties.

iTunes Match does not scan across country stores. The service will only scan the store that the Apple ID is associated with when you sign up.

Downloading songs from England iTunes Store?

Is it possible to download a song from the English iTunes site since I already have an American account with iTunes United States of course but obviously don't have an English address? I have tried to sign up for an account on the England iTunes site but can't since I don't have an English address? Weird why can't you get some songs not on the American site but are available on the English site?

You need a credit card with a billing address in the country or region you want to purchase songs from that country's iTunes Store. If Apple cannot work out a licensing agreement with the people who hold the rights to a song or video in a specific country, that content won't appear in the country's iTunes Store. The rights to a song may be held by different people in different countries, and some licensing agreements may allow it to be made available in some countries but not others.

How do I purchase a song available from the iTunes UK store? I get a message that states I can only purchase songs from the USA store. I really want Kid Rock's new song, "All Summer Long" and it's not available at the US iTunes store.

Try:
- Another cable
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
