Any idea why my iTunes doesn't automatically begin uploading my CDs when I insert them into he CPU?

Can you burn a CD outside of iTunes?

  • Quicktime won't update, itunes won't open...having no luck :(

I'm getting an error message when I try to download the current quicktime. iTunes won't open without it. The error message is below:
It says "Could not open key:
HKEYLOCALMACHINE\Software\Classes\QuickTimePlayerLib.QuickTimePlayerApp\CLSID. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel"
I tried a link that was posted in another discussion about manually editing the registry and it did not change anything. I still get the same error message. I've actually looked over quite a few suggestions in other discussions (like deleting quicktime all over the place and trying to reinstall it) and nothing seems to work. I finally was able to get the newest version of itunes downloaded. However, when I go to launch itunes it will not open b/c it says that i need the newest version of quicktime (which i cannot download). When I try to download it via standalone, it gives me a new error message similar to the original except now the location is QuickTime.QuickTime rather than QuickTimePlayerLib.QuickTimePlayerApp. Before I uninstalled QT, I was able to edit the registry for the QT Player LIb and App. Since they did nothing I unistalled it again. However, after I uninstalled it, (and reinstalled just itunes which it finally updated) I tried to reinstall and it would not install because the new error message is the most resent one above... in the registry it will not let me change/save any permissions changes to QuickTime.QuickTime. I've again tried to uninstall it but now QT isn't there at all. I've been at this thing for a week and nothing seems to be working... any suggestions? I would love help!!!!
Oh, and I don't know if this will help at all, but I have an ipod mini from like 2003... when I couldn't get itunes to update at all to the current version I decided to uninstall itunes and my ipod mini... so then i had to reinstall my ipod with the cd software that came with it which also installed itunes... it worked fine and would open... then I tried to update itunes again and somehow i managed to get it to update itunes... however, when i go to launch itunes it won't let me b/c of the version of quicktimes i currently have. Thanks in advance for any help!

so i tried to download the windows installer update from the link you gave me but now i'm getting a different error and it won't let me download the installer. The error reads:
    Windows Script Host
    Script: C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\LOCALS~1\Temp\IXP000.TMP\StartMsl.vbs
    Line: 1
    Char: 1
Error: ActiveX component can't create object: 'Scripting.FileSystemObject"
    Code: 800A01AD
    Source: Microsoft VBScript runtime error
I have no idea what this means or how to fix it. Please help!

  • HT203167 WHY IS IT THAT ITUNES WON'T ADD SONGS  AND MOVIES FROM ALL MY ACCOUNTS!

The ITunes fixes I had to add accounts and more accounts to buy the movies at the time I want,ed them so this great cloud don't work to lock them all together .
So why is apple sell at 487  share  ???.

Nothing is broken so there's nothing to fix. It's very normal for a company to deny you access to further services if you own them money. They aren't blocking you from using things you've already purchased and downloaded, only from further using Apple services - which included the privilege of re-downloading - until you've settled your debt. If you make a purchase knowing that you did not have or there was a significant chance you would not have the funds available, at best that's bad financial management on your part and potentially criminal at worst. Next time, keep more careful track of what you have purchased on line and make sure you keep enough of a reserve in your account to cover any such purchases no matter when they actually are booked to your account.
If you deleted the items, made no backup, and so now wish to re-download them, you will have to pay the balance you owe. Until you do, you are quite legimitately denied access to further services from the iTunes Store.
    Regards.

  • TS1717 Restore my ipod? ITUNES WON'T EVEN LET ME SEE THE SUMMARY.

I have been going over my ipod touch for the past 5 hours: it was quite simple, i needed to reset my ipod to factory settings so connected my ipod, reset the settings and plugged it back into itunes.
Now for the past 3 hours, everytime i connect my ipod, itunes recognises that it is in, but only lets me see the 'Sync with itunes so you can listen to music, add apps and other media' whilst showing pointless arrows and texts telling me how to do so - my problem? EVERYTIME I CLICK ON A ******* BUTTON INCLUDING SUMMARY NOTHING HAPPENS.
I've tried everything but without even being able to look at the summary of my ipod, i can't even restore it back!
PLEASE SOMEONE HEP ME BEFORE I CAUSE A ******* RIOT.

Do you see any button that allows you to 'agree' or ' get started' or something?
Keep calm and reboot your computer. If that doesn't help, remove itunes and its components using

  • HD won't open, iTunes won't play, DVD player quits...

I am new to this forum and am afraid that I am totally screwed regarding my comp. Here is what is going on:
A couple weeks ago, I started my computer to work on my art. I always open iTunes first, put it on my top rated random shuffle playlist, and then open Photoshop CS2 and whatever piece I'm working on at the time. Well, when I opened iTunes and hit 'play,' it picked a song, but then just sat there claiming that the song length was 0:00. I restarted, and it worked fine.
The other day, I opened the computer to put on a DVD for my daughter. The DVD player repeatedly 'unexpectedly quit'. I thought, well, I'll go to the actual app and try to open it that way. The 'Rachael's Hard Drive' icon just sat there when I double-clicked. It would not let me open my hard drive. I opened iTunes, and it wouldn't play anything, same as last time. I restarted, but it didn't work.
I cannot access my hard drive. Is it dead? Does anybody know? I have a lot of my artwork backed up, but all my latest commissions are on there and some really personal pieces. Am I going to lose those? Help me, please. I need suggestions.

    themindseye,
    Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
Use your OS X Install disk to boot the computer and run Repair Disk on the hard drive as described in Using Disk Utility and fsck. At the bottom of the Disk Utility windows, what does the hard drive's SMART status report? How much space does Disk Utility show as available on the hard drive? Does Repair Disk report any problems? If Repair Disk reports making repairs, repeat the repair until it reports no problems, or until it either reports being unable to repair or it becomes obvious that it's stuck in an endless loop.
Can you access the HD if you Start Up in Safe Mode?

  • ITunes Freezing While Uploading CDs...

For some reason some of my CDs seem to freeze up iTunes, while importing. The CD will upload usually until the last song and will freeze w/ one second left of the upload. These are all CDs I've uploaded before without trouble. Anybody know what the issue is?

I have found that both on my home Mac and work PC, that iTunes will freeze when trying to play an Audio CD. It will do it usually between tracks. I have turned off error correction in the Preferences - Advanced - Importing. It seems to solve this very unApple like problem. I have seen many problems like this over the past year and fear that this will continue. I am used to locking my PC at work once things
work, and updating my Mac to get all the extra features. Now I feel like I am using Microsoft products. OSX 10.5 search (Spotlight) does not search all of my hard drive so I can not do any searches unless I copy a folder to an external drive and search there (lame).

  • TS1717 My Itunes won't open and I am getting message "the file "iTunes Library .itl" cannot be ready because it was created by a newer version of iTunes".  Any suggestions?

My iTunes won't open and I am getting message "the file iTunes library .itl"cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes.  Anyone have a suggestion?

I don't know why this error occurs, unless you have attempted to downgrade iTunes.
This method should get you up and running again.
    Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

  • TS3074 Hello anyone with Windows 7, not sure why having followed instructions above, install of latest version of itunes won't work and can no longer open old version either.  anyone help with this?

Hello anyone with Windows 7, not sure why having followed instructions above, install of latest version of itunes won't work and can no longer open old version either.  anyone help with this?

    Hi,
    thanks for your reply.
Yes, except n°1 - empty Temp directory, I had tried/checked all of those.
I emptied the local temp folder tonight, but it still won't work.
Please note: the installation doesn't give me any problem. The program was working fine, until at one point *plouf* it stopped working. I can re-install it without any problem, it just crashes when opening.
\\edit\\ I seem to have located the problem, it's in the library files. If I re-install iTunes without my library, it works fine (though there is no music in it, yet). As soon as I import my library, or replace the My Music\iTunes folder with the old one, it stops working.
