TS1741 Updated Apple TV software, now getting picture with a USB and iTunes
I updated my Apple TV software and now I am getting a picture with back of the Apple TV and a USB wire going towards the iTunes symbol. What do I do?
it's trying to tell you to connect it using a microUSB cable to a computer and use itunes on the computer to restore the firmware

You could try restoring and staying away from that backup. I've had that happen to me before on my iPhone 4 from a corrupt backup. You could be coincidently mixing the two issues, sounds to me like you got lucky and your phone is A-OK but you may be using a corrupt backup.

Theres no way around it, you'll have to restore to have the phone working again.

Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.

i recently purchased an iphone 3gs second hand .wanted to use i tunes and whatsapp but kept saying need to udate to lastes firware or what ever so went on itunes to update. update started but keeps failing now phone wont work at all .all we get is either apple logo or pic of usb and itunes logo.andy help would be gratefully recived only had phone a day.has sony experia and wanted to change to apple and fist time its now useless.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the iPhone 3GS can only be updated as far as 4.2.1
Requirements for WhatsApp are iOS 4.3 or later. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.

So that app cannot run on the iPhone 3GS.
I stand corrected but apparently you may not be able to update the device regardless.

I tried to update iTunes with the latest version and I got a message saying that - MSVCR80.dll was not installed. I think I successfully installed that through an online help website but I now get R6034 - C\Program Files(x86)\iTunes\iTunes.exe

Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.
