    I have Win7, cannot connect to iTunes store.  I open iTunes and store does not load, and no error message shows. 

    After contacting iTunes many times i finally recived an email that helped me fix the problem:
    1. Manually download the latest iTunes installer
    2. Uninstall iTunes
    3. Uninstall QuickTime
    4. Uninstall Apple Software Update
    5. Uninstall Apple mobile device support
    6. Uninstall Bonjour
    7. Uninstall Apple application support
    Once you've uninstall iTunes and other components, please open and install the file you've manually downloaded.
    If you still can't connect after trying above information and as I also want to have your issues resolved, I would need to refer you to our technical advisors. A technical Advisor will be able to tell you about Apple's complimentary and fee-based support options as well as assist you in determining what option might be most helpful in this case.     Cured the problem! Reinstalled an earlier version of itunes from oldapps.com (version 10) now everything works as it should. I would suggest that if you are experiencing these problems that you do the same. I must say that it is a brave business decision on behalf of apple to effectively lock out all windows 7 users from their products and sales channels and I can only wish them luck in this very shortsighted policy.

  • Attempting to download the free ibook Year in Focus 2013. Each time the dload appears to be close to finishing I get a message stating that cannot connect to iTunes and book never downloads. Have rebooted and still issue.

    Each time I make an attempt to download the free book Year in Focus 2013 I get a message that states cannot connect to iTunes even though I am connected and after several hours of downloading.  I have rebooted twice now and making another attempt but so far does not look promising.     If you're being repeatedly prompted to install the 64-bit version of iTunes, I'd suggest first completely uninstalling iTunes and all its related components using the steps found here:

  • "Cannot Connect to iTunes" Error iOS 6.0.1 Have tried everything! Got advice?

    I have iPhone 4S.
    Just updated to iOS 6.0.1.
    I'm getting the very common "Cannot Connect to iTunes Store" error when I try to download anything in the App Store. I have tried EVERYTHING to resolve it and nothing works.
    Here is what I have tried so far:
    1. Set Date&Time to 2013. Try App Store. Got error. Set Date&Time to auto again. DIDNT WORK.
    2. Set Date&Time to 2030. Try App Store. Got error. Set Date&Time to auto again. DIDNT WORK.
    3. Rebooted iPhone twice after resetting Date&Time. DIDNT WORK.
    4. Signed out of iTunes/Apple ID account. DIDNT WORK. Worse, now iTunes won't even acknowledge my account and wont let me sign back in! DIDNT WORK.
    I have tried everything every one has said worked for them. Nothing works for me.
    Does anyone have any suggestions before I throw the phone out the window? God help me, if I'm forced to go to Windows 8, I'll cry.

    Heavens no ... Don't do it!
    There are a bunch of users posting about this problem right now. One might assume that there is something "hinky" going on with the Apple servers. There is one other thing that you can try, that you haven't already mentioned ... Don't know if it will work ... You may just have to wait this out until Apple fixes it but ....
    Settings>Privacy>Location Services>System Services (swipe to the bottom of the page to find this)>Location Based iAds>Off.
    More than likely, it is an Apple glitch, but give it a try.

    check to see if you can access secured websites (https) on your computer / device
    if this is on a computer with windows configuring your antivirus / firewall to not block itunes some times will help, also resetting your tcp/ip might fix it (open command prompt as an administrator, type: "netsh reset winsock" hit enter, restart computer

    Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    This works for some users. Not sure why.
    Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.

    I am a fairly new apple user, just got the new ipad, as part of an evaluation program. I recently did an iOS update and now keep getting the error message:cannot connect to iTunes Store... I tried date changing - no good ... The only thing that worked was to change the DNS setting to 0.0.0.0 as described in another thread. This fix for a day and now still getting the same error message and DNS setting changes do nothing. I have tried the reset method several times to no avail. I'm beginning tho think the ipad wasn't a great idea.... Apple need to attend to this. Like many, I have already wasted too much time looking for a fix. I am part of an IT in education group that will soon be recommending a specific hardware and OS. Could result in the loss of thousands of ipad sales for apple ....
    Anyhow... All or any suggestions are welcome :)

    You can not merge accounts.
    Apps are tied to the Apple ID used to download them, you can not transfer them.
