TS1906 Ical frozen - blank screen, no data and unresponsive buttons

After installing the last update, Ical is frozen - its shows no calender data, and the buttons for day/week/month don't work. I restored the calender data from my last time machine backup, after which it worked for the first time I opened ical. The next time I opened it, I was back to square one - no data, and unresponsive buttons (also not able to change the view over the top bar menu) and then I even got a blank screen (where the calender data should be).
Luckily my data still shows on my iphone and on my google calender. Its only on my Mac (version IOS 10.6.8) that Ical (version 4.0.4 (1395.7)) isn't working. I believe this is a bug of the actual Ical software, rather than my data.
Anyone have similar experiences, or an idea of how to fix this? Thanks.

I had the same problem with my Radeon Mobility U1.
The solution is to downgrade the xf86-video-ati driver to the version 6.7.195-3 and it should work flawlessly.
Make sure pacman and/or yaourt don't upgrade this driver inadvertently to this latest, buggy version, until a fix is released.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Help! My iPad's screen is black and unresponsive, but when I plug it in I can hear it make the noise it normally would. I'm unsure what to do and I've been looking all over the internet for solutions and so far none are working.

As I mentioned, the screen is black and unresponsive. However when ever I plug it into either my charger or my lap top it will make the expected sounds, it also [when plugged into my computer] opens up iTunes how ever the device can't be seen on the side bar. So far to resolve the issue I've tried.
- Attempting to turn it on
- A reset using the home/sleep button and the power button
- Plugging it into my computer to see if I can get it working through iTunes [Which so far is fruitless]
- Holding 3 fingers down in the screen in case my screen curtain was enabled [Nothing happened with that either]
- Putting it face down over my knee and slapping the back in case a cable was lose [Done this repeatedly and nothing happened]
I don't know what's wrong with it and I've been searching for solutions for about 2-3 hour's now. I'm hoping someone here might be able to help me as I would like to go through as many options as possible before trying to take it into the apple store.
[Side note I had also just updated my iPad two nights before the problems began to occur to the iOS 8 technology.My version of iPad is the iPad 2 with 16GB of memory. I'm not sure how much information will be relevant but I'll give as much as possible is someone is able to help me.]

Apple does not replace screens and your iPad is clearly out of warranty, not that accidental damage would be covered anyway. If you want to try to have your iPad fixed, there are 3rd party repair centers you can try. In your google search bar type the following:
"ipad repair "xxxxx"
Put your city in the "xxxx" for example, "tampa, fl"
There will likely be some options you could investigate.
Or, you could sell your iPad, even damaged to Gazelle.com and get yourself a shiny new iPad. And if you do, make sure you add AppleCare+ for $99. This not only increases your Apple technical support for two full years, but would get you up to two iPad replacements at $49 each.

Why does screen go white and unresponsive?

You will probably never find out "why"
- To prevent try the following:
-- A reset. Nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
-- Restore to from backup
-- Restore to factory defaults/new iPod
If still a problem then you likely have a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Ipod nano 3rd gen unit is locked, though never have done a manual lock on it. Screen is lit and lock button shows. Have latest itunes, but nothing syncs. Have done everything on supports pages including toggle hold button, etc. Screen stays locked. Help

Sounds like the hold switch is broken, meaning you'll need to have your iPod serviced/replaced either by Apple or a third party repair company.

Apple doesn't sell insurance. Talk to your insurance company. The warranty does not cover accidental damage or abuse.
If you purchased AppleCare+, you can get up to 2 discounted (US$49) replacements over the course of 2 years for user inflicted damage. Sounds like that's not what you have.
As I said, talk to your insurance company.

TS2621 When I try to access my mail I just get frozen blank screen. Also on settings the screen freezes when I press the mail calendar icon.

Close the Mail app in the Task Bar and re-launch.
Double-click the Home button to reveal Task Bar. Hold Mail app down for a second or two; tap the minus sign to close app.
If it still doesn't work, try a reset.
Hold the Sleep and Home button down (together) for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the red slider.

Blank screen orange wifi and mute lights

Hello,
I have a Pavilion Dv4 laptop that does not boot. It seems to be in hibernation with the wifi and wan lights in orange.
I can hear the fan spinning. It spins and then stops and spins again. The DVD light comes on and the numllock and caps locks blink in sequence of 1 continuously.
Please help me! I need my laptop to use.

I understand that you are getting no display, but the Caps lock and Num lock LEDs are blinking. I am happy to help you with this. The below document shows the meaning of the error codes.

If the lights are flashing just once and then repeating that sequence, it indicates that the CPU is not functional. If that code is correct then I recommend calling the support line. Nano's frozen, blank screen comes on

My ipod nano wants to turn on but doesn't, the screen will light up and be blank. I tried holding the middle button and menu = nothing. I can see everything when it's connected to the computer. Anyone know any secrets to this problemo?

I now found out my son dropped the nano into a puddle, so it got wet. Tried to let it dry for about 2 weekes now and the ipod itself actually works, you just have to guess where the songs are as the screen lights up but is still blank, no anything but a blank screen. Any ideas on this type of situation?

Blank screen between preloader and beginning of SWF movie

I'm having a problem with a published SWF. A long lag time is occurring between the end of my AS3 preloader and the beginning of my SWF movie. Once the preloader disappears, the SWF screen goes blank for up to 10 seconds before the movie begins. I've monitored the SWF's download progress using Firebug, and the preloader disappears once 45% of the SWF has been downloaded, as is to be expected. But the movie does not begin until most of the SWF has been downloaded, which causes the 10 seconds of blank screen. After reading some blog posts, I suspected that the audio embedded in the Captivate presentation was causing the SWF to download all of the audio before starting the movie. I followed recommendations to add a tiny amount of silence the beginning of each slide, but it hasn't resolved the problem.
Does anyone know how to fix a long lag time between a preloader and movie? My SWF settings and other details are below. Thanks in advance.
- Using Captivate 5
- The presentation has 18 slides. Each slide has one JPG and one audio clip. (The audio clips were imported one at a time, instead of importing one large audio file and having Captivate spread it across multiple slides.)
- Each slide is .4 seconds longer than its audio clip, leaving .2 seconds of silence before and after the audio clip.
- SWF Size and Quality are set to Low
- Audio Quality is set to MP3, 64Kbps, 44.100 KHz
- Using AS3 preloader set to 45%
- The SWF is hosted on a web server and is viewed via the htm file that is generated when the SWF is published.

ITunes blank screen on search, and faulty History page

Hello,
I have an iPhone 4s with iOS 6. Whenever I try to search in iTunes the results don't load and I'm left with a blank screen.
Also the History page seems faulty - after I clear my history there's no 'done' or 'back' buttton so I have to close and reopen the app.
Any suggestions?

Same here on iPhone 4. It works fine on my iPad 3. Rubbish again from apple. Featured stuff selected fine, it's just the search. Basically can't buy any film unless it can be found under categories or history

i just bought a new imac today from chadstone apple store and i tried installing one of the grey discs but halfway through installation i stopped it coz i realised i already had it on the computer. then it gave me option to restart or shutdown, i clicked restart but then it froze on the screen - GREY APPLE AND SPINNING SMALL GREY CIRCLE!
WHAT DO I DO?

I think you hit the nail on the head right here. Put the restore disk in and restart holding down the C key and install it without canceling.
