TS1963 Issues after file migration from PC

Hi, I'm new to Mac and I've just done a file migration of my photo's from my old PC (using migration assistant after I've been using the mac i.e. not at initial start-up) and I now can't find the files. Looking at previous similar issues on forums people seem to suggest that a new account will be set up and the photo's will be in there, however there is no new account when I look for it.
Can anyone help to steer me in the right direction?

We recently purchased a MacBookPro and transferred the desktop and files including downloads from our Sony PC to the Mac.  The migration was successful, but we don't know where to look for the files on the Mac after the migration.  Please help.

You should find a new account on the Mac. Logout of the current account and log into the new account.

  • Outlook Users connection issues after Mailbox Migration from 2007 to 2013

    Hi,
We have a coexistance between Exchange 2007 SP3 and Exchange 2013 CU7. There is an issue when after migrating the user from exchange 2007 mailbox to exchange 2013, the outlook keeps on prompting for password when it is being launched. Checking the Connection
Status we found that there is a connection to the old 2007 Server and the type is Exchange Public Folder. I have migrated the public folder and checked the Mailbox of the user and found that the DefaultPublicFolderMailbox is set to the 2013 Public Folder Mailbox.
If I check my 2013 MailboxDatabase Properties, It sill shows that PublicFolderDatabase Properties is still pointing to the 2007 Public Folder Database. Any resolution on this?
Another issue is, We set outlook anywhere on the 2013 to use basic authentication, however, when users are migrated to 2013 the Outlook client changes to NTLM. even if we set the outlook to basic to make it work, it still comes back to NTLM after a while.
I did most of the resolutions online to use powershell to make changes to outlook anywhere but no luck. any suggestions is highly appreciated.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Arthur

    Hi,
For the first problem, please check the msExchHomePublicMDB attribute for mailbox database in Exchange 2013, you can check this attribute in ADSIEdit.
If this attribute is pointing to Exchange 2007 public folder database, please set to blank. After that, please restart the information service.
And for the second question, I suggest we open a new case for this issue. In order to avoid confusion and keep track of troubleshooting steps, we usually troubleshoot one
issue per thread in order to find a resolution efficiently.
    Thanks for your understanding.

Use the Office for Mac and ignore using Parallels for that. If you have PC only apps you have to run that are MS Windows only then consider Parallels. Just transfer your main PC, using Migration Assistant.  If you don't know how then simply read over Pondini's article called Lion or Mountain Lion Setup Assistant tips and look for the section on migrating from a PC. Millions have done what you are about to, it's far from leading edge these days, if you go to an Apple Store to purchase they will offer this as a service, something you might be interested in.

  • Time Machine fails to backup files migrated from Windows

Hi there - I have a really annoying issue whereby I have a machine with a TC on the LAN which fails to backup.
The scenario is thus - Mac Snow Leopard server which has files migrated from an old Windows server to one specific disk. This is where all the data resides so this is the only volume I actually really need to back up.
However I keep getting the message that Time machine could not write to the device after a certain period of time with the classically unhelpful:-
Console log mumbles on about what I suspect is the path/length of path or filenames which I understand. Question is - how do I get round this? There are thousands of files in here so I cannot ask the users to go around renaming the files and shortening the folder names (to be honest it doesnt seem that they are too long to me in any case).
The files are shared using both AFP and SMB as a standard Sharepoint and the users on both Mac and PC have no problems at all accessing them, hence my confusion as to why TM has a problem with the file/folder names.
Chocolate biscuit (or equivalent for those on detox) for anyone who can throw me a bone here.
    Cheers and thanks in advance,
    Si

Not really sure if this is what you mean about Outlook database, but the correct answer may be in this thread's last post:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3356959?start=0&tstart=0
Basically the same information you can find here:
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/mac/forum/macoffice2011-macoutlook/help-my-ma in-identity-hosed-restore-from-time/a9992719-3ae0-479d-bf0a-7c8279653ffa
"The first time that you open Outlook after restoring a Time Machine backup, Outlook rebuilds its database to accommodate the restored items. If you have a very large database, rebuilding the database might take a long time."
    Hope this helps.

  • Deployment failing after filer migration in weblogic

Hi, We have used weblogic on Netapps Filer, recently we migrated from Netapps to Sun filer and after this deployment issue came up. The deployment fails for 2-3 times with the following error "java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: flex/messaging/license/AsnDecoder" and after that it deploys successfully.
We have used Netapps for more than 3 years without any deployment issues.
Can someone please let us know if you faced such problem...and what was the resolution.

    "java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: flex/messaging/license/AsnDecoder"
This indicates that the 'deployment' is missing the class that it uses for something.
What you need to do is find the .jar file that includes the class. After some Googling it is found that flex-messaging-req.jar contains the class ( Download flex-messaging-data-req.jar : flex « f « Jar File Down…) - hope it is the right version.

  • Sharepoint 2013 discussion board item view (flat.aspx) throws js error after being migrated from moss 2007

After preforming a migration from moss 2007 to 2013 on-prem we have noticed that html tags are showing up in the discussion board posts.  I have tracked the problem down to the flat.aspx page throwing a js error.
'SPAnimationUtility' is undefined - coming from the sp.ui.discussions.js file
this is what I see on the page:
The reply and edit buttons function fine.  Its just that the html is exposed.
Anyone seen this before or have a clue as to how to solve?
    Thanks,
    -Alex

As I remember there are a couple managed properties (metadata) that are used by the views that don't get created when you migrate a discussion board from a previous version.  I don't remember the specific properties, but take a look at a new discussion
board in 2013 and compare the properties in the views and you will find them.

  • Error after Oracle Migration from DMTS into LMTS

    Hello ,
I'm sorry, I posted my question again from ABAP General into this forum ABAP Dictionary. I think that here someone can help me in order to proceed with my job in the Development and in production system.
We are using SAP R/3 4.6C, with SAP kernel 2271, Oracle 9.2.0.5 and HP-UX 11.23
I did the Oracle migration from dictionary into locally managed tablespaces on the QTS system (and before that the same migration on a separate system as a copy from production):
    1. export data and index tablespace with Oracle export command (exp: for PSAPCLUD and PSAPCLUI)
    2. import into file for creation of indexes
    3. Drop the data and corresponding index tablesspace with brtools - brspace
    4. recreate the tablespaces with sapdba or with sqlplus (using the ddl scripts created before dropping the tablespaces) - - I think is my problem
    5. import the data with Oracle import command
    6. import the indexes from the previously created sql file
    7. check optimizer statistics, analyze and next extents
    But there is one problem.
Because I have also used the sapdba and ddl sql for recreating the tablespaces, I didn't specify the SAP data class for the newly created tablespace.
And in the tables TAORA, IAORA and DDART (what is very unclear for me) 3 rows missing for the USER1, TEMP and ??? data class.
If you try to import some transport in the corresponding tablespace which data class is missing an error ocur.
I have read the Note 646681 - Reorganizing tables with BRSPACE, and I saw the part: If the <reorg_tsp> tablespace contains any of the following tables: SDBAH,SDBAD,DBAML,DBATL,MLICHECK,TGORA,IGORA,TSORA,TAORA, IAORA,SVERS,DD02L,DD09L,DDNTT,DDART,DARTT or SAPLIKEY (SAPLIKEY is only available in NetWeaver 2004s or higher), then you should move them to the tablespace <aux_tsp> by online reorganization using BRSPACE:
    brspace -f tbreorg -t <table_list> -n <aux_tsp>
Do you have the same problem?
Do you know how I can solve the problem now after the hole migration was done?
How can I dedicate tablespace data class?
Is it enought to just enter the same rows into the TAORA, IAORA and DDART?
    Thanks,
    Many regards,
    Ruzica

Apparently you are trying to mix 32-bit code and 64-bit code. You must ensure that the 32-bit or 64-bit option is used consistently on every command, compiling and linking. The form of the option can depend on the version of the C compiler you are using, and whether you are on an x86 or sparc system. Consult the Pro*C and C compiler documentation.

  • Security issues after catalog migration

    Hello,
We have installed a new Sys (11.1.1.7.0) environment and now need to migrate the OBI objects from Dev (11.1.1.7.0). Everything works as expected in Dev with logging in and viewing the appropriate dashboards according to users permissions. Now, after the migrating to Sys when we try to login to hostname:9704/analytics all users cannot see the dashboard and catalog objects. Even Weblogic can't see any. I can view the catalog objects in offline mode via the Catalog Manager or Windows Explorer. If I look at the Catalog through the Catalog Manager my permissions do not allow me to view any objects under Shared Folders; however, in Dev I'm able to do so. It seems something is out of sync btwn the catalog and the Policy store even though users have the appropriate groups assigned in the weblogic LDAP. Any ideas on what might be happening or how to resolve?
    Migration process:
    1) Migrated Policy Store and Identity store from Dev to Sys. Confirmed objects were migrated.
    2) Migrated RPD and Catalog from Dev to Sys. Confirmed objects were migrated.
    3) Refreshed GUIDs in Sys
    4) services successfully start
    Regards,
    Mike

    Hi Saichand.
I'm working with Mike on this permissions issue, and can provide some feedback.
I'm comparing the "Shared Folders" privileges between two environments, DEV(works) and TEST(not working).
    The DEV environment has:
    Name - Permission - Details - Type
-- Authenticated User - Full Control - Full Control - Application Role
-- Presentation Server Admins - Full Control - Full Control - Catalog Role
    The TEST environment has:
    Name - Permission - Details - Type
-- BI Admin Role - Full Control - Full Control - Application Role
-- BI Consumer Role - Custom...- Read, Travers, etc. - Application Role
I'm changing the TEST environment to mirror our functioning DEV permissions:
    Name - Permission - Details - Type
-- Authenticated User - Full Control - Full Control - Application Role
-- Presentation Server Admins - Full Control - Full Control - Application Role
I am now able to login as my Administrator user and have access to the appropriate objects.
I still have a couple questions I'm hoping you can clear up though.
    1) Something in our migration process to our TEST environ. must have updated the Shared Folders privileges to not include the Authenticated User & Presentation Server Admins roles/groups. This is odd, since we migrated the entire environment from our functioning DEV environ. Any insight into what we did/missed would be helpful.
    2) Re. "Shared Folders" permissions on my DEV server vs. TEST server, the role type is "Catalog" on one, and "Application" on the other. How did we accomplish converting the Role from a Catalog to an App role going from DEV to TEST?
    DEV:
    Name - - Type
-- Presentation Server Admins - - Catalog Role
    TEST:
    Name - - Type
-- Presentation Server Admins - - Application Role
    Much obliged.
    Ben

  • Files Migrated From iBook G4 to PowerMac G5 Won't Open

I can't open my files which I migrated from my iBook G4 to my PowerMac G5. It says permission denied. Both computers have the same operating system.
I repaired permissions and now I can't even open the folder. There's a red circle with a minus sign next to all the folders except the documents folder. However nothing shows in it except when I click on Get Info then I can see the MB of contents.
Now I'm wondering what will happen when I migrate all my PowerMac G5's files over to my new iMac. Will I have the same problem?
Luckily the files on my iBook G4 are small enough I can put them on a CD. I can't say the same for my G5 files.

Normally Migration assistant has no problems.

  • What components of VM are lost after its migration from one physical host to another?

Hi, I found this post very helpful for me, it is very easy to understand about the live VM migration. I have a confusion regarding VM migration that if any
VM is migrated from one physical host to another what components of VM (vCPU, vBIOS, vRAM, vHD, vNIC, OS, Apps) will be changed?
Kindly help me to understand that:
1.Will Operating System running on VM be changed? 2. Will BIOS and Boot Loader information be changed?
Thanks Looking forward for your response.

Just to make sure we're talking about the same thing. We're talking about "live-migration" not VM conversion from one hypervisor to another, like a VM from VMWare or XenServer to a VM on Hyper-V, right?
As mentioned above, when a VM is
live-migrated from one Hyper-V host to another, nothing changes. Bios does not change. A
Gen1 VM with traditional BIOS firmware will not turn into a Gen2 machine with UEFI firmware for example.
Boot loader will not change when a VM is live-migrated from one Hyper-V host to another.
MAC address on VM NICs will change when a VM is live-migrated from one Hyper-V host to another, unless the VM NIC is configured with a static MAC address. A Changed MAC address will be interpreted by the VM as a new NIC, which will lose its old IP settings.
Stopping and restarting a VM on the same Hyper-V host changes nothing about the VM synthetic hardware such as NICs, BIOS firmware, or its internal startup files like boot loader.
Stopping a VM, and restarting it on another Hyper-V host changes nothing except the VM NIC's MAC address if it is configured to have a dynamic MAC address as described above.

  • NTFS issue: video files copied from Arch won´t load on other devices

    Hi!
I'm having this odd issue... I'll start from zero:
I have a 1TB external HDD (usb3, iomega). It has an NTFS filesystem since it was always my Windows backup drive. Since I've buyed a Digital TV that supports video playback from external drives and almost any video format, I'm using it as a movie/etc device. Previusly I had installed Ubuntu... but since I've installed Arch, any video file that I copy to the external HDD won't work on the TV. When I try to reproduce those files copied from Arch on the TV it hags and reboot several times.
I don't know where to start. I've installed ntfs-3g-fuse package for mounting r/w without root privileges... and my user is part of "disk" and "storage" group.
    Any ideas?
PD: Sorry, I'm not an english speaker... If it's not legible I'll try to write it again.

Usually crash on access indicates damaged filesystem. For example drive was removed without umount-ing it.
For start you can run file system check on your drive from Windows - "chkdsk /f X:"
You also can run it as "chkdsk /f /r X:" to check for bad-blocks (though it is not so critical now days).
Keep in mind - NTFS is proprietary system so 'ntfsfix' from ntfsprogs in Linux could help sometime but do not hold you breath with it.
Better find Windows for Windows filesystem.
Or you can just recreate files system from scratch with mkntfs - all data on the drive will be lost, obviously. But you do not need windows for that.
    Regards,
    Eugene.
