TS2446 I have an I pod second generation and my device is reading "ipod is disabled" connect to itunes
My ipod touch second generation is giving me an error message when I turn it on. " ipod is disabled" I beleive it is because I forgot my password for my device.
How can I recover this or reset my ipod?
You will need to connect the iPod to the computer that you normally sync to and you should then be able to reset the iPod and restore/re-sync your content to it (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212) - you may need to put the iPod into recovery mode in order to be able to reset it : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808
If you do it via a different computer then :
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.

I have a itouch and it ended up getting locked. I ave tried to connect to iTunes and it does not recognize it. Tried the 2 help options and they did not work either (turn off and hold power button, connect to itunes).
No sure if it makes a difference but i have a iphone 4s, iphone 3 and a itouch. I do not use itunes much so I am out in the dark. Also Apple says to bring it in for service.
ThxDo as the manual says to do and restore the ipod. If you are unable, then type "unable to restore" into the search bar at the top of this page by Support and read the resulting help articles.

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

My 7 year old daughter has an iPod Touch 4 and she used the wrong password too many times. She thinks she remembers her password now but we have already exceeded the attempts and it says "iPod is disabled" connect to iTunes. Is there any way we can get the device to allow another attempt? We are traveling this week so don't have access to the serial number or the computer that was used to originally set up her iTouch. I don't even know what operating system it's on and can only see the home screen.
Restoring the iPod will do nothing to his iPhone.
When you restore it wipes the iPod clean no matter what computer you use.
The only plus to doing it form your home computer is if you have a backup stored there, then you can restore from the backup once it's done wiping.

I have an ipod touch that hasn't been used in a while. We want to use it now, but the screen says "ipod disabled. connect to itunes". When I connect to itunes it tells me to enter my passcode, however the ipod will not allow me to do anything (and I don't know the code anyway). MY iPod touch says iPod I'd disabled, connect to iTunes, but it is green at the top instead of red. It won't allow me to slide bar to open screen or nothing.
