Not receiving apple mail.  Checked connection Doctor.  Not connected to server, yet receiving gmail and yahoo mail.

No, I have a Mac and my email connects via our pacbell account we've had for years.  However, something in the Preferences/Accounts is not correct I am guessing.  Also, it asks for the password and if I put it in and click save through general or viewing, it's NOT saving it and still not allowing me to get email. My husband tried reading about this through our AT&T acct and said to change the incoming server to imap.mail.yahoo.com and outgoing smtp.mail.yahoo;[email protected], but now I can't receive or send any email on my Mac. In advanced not sure if it should be Port of 465 or 900 something or other and SSL checked or not.  I called AT&T and they want to take over my machine by charging $15/mos for a year to fix this.  Ridiculous.
So, everytime prior to yesterday, when my husband messed around with it, I was getting a POP needs password box, typed in my password, but to no avail..Then it Keychain password popped up and assumed it was the same, but there's no way to change or modify it even using the new password my husband set up through AT&T.  I am at a complete loss.
I can access mail through yahoo mail and it takes me to AT&T Yahoo Mail, but no contacts are there so needless to say this is a pain.
I appreciate any assistance you can give me so I can get back on my email as I have for 4 years.
Thanks Hackintosh...I look forward to hearing from you....you can use the email above and it will come to me through my yahoo web page....Thanks again and let me know if you need any other information.  If you respond on here, I may not get the answer from you as I didn't know you responded until I came on discussions.  THanks

Not receiving Apple email from Apple Corp. on any corp emails or devices.
We are not blocking anything from Apple.com. (We do block any traffic from the Far East.)
Getting all email from other email providers. Not receiving any email from APPLE.COM.
    Any Ideas??
    Bill

All the clues indicate this is not the problem on recipient Server/Client. We are out of control for the message item even doesn't touch our domain. Maybe we need to contact ISP or resolve the issue on Sender site.

  • I do not receive Apple ID verification email

I do not receive Apple ID verification email, I have updated my password but the verification email from Apple just doesn't arrive - is there another way to verify?

I followed the chain of messages above trying to find a solution. I have the same problem. I'm syncing my iPhone 5 to iTunes and keep getting messages about all the content that will not sync because "not authorized." So I try to login to my Apple ID
    - password is wrong
    - try reset password
    - chose "send email" but no email arrives (I even check 'junk' folder to be sure)
    - go back to reset password and try "Answer security questions"
    - says my DoB is wrong but I'm sure it's not wrong
So what is the solution? Re-purchase all the content that won't sync?

  • Not even Apple can fix my problem-Combo Drive Failed-

Just to let you know i am still under warrenty i think for a little while longer.
My Computer has been sent in 2 times already both times it has worked for 2 days then bam dead again. Cd-Combo Drive is recognized. About This Apple-My Info- Disc Burning says you do not have a disc burning drive.
This computer will not read run or write Cd's and never has since i got it. They replaced the entire dirve the first time the second time they replaced the connector cable.... whats left? Anyone have any ideas? Apple should give me a new computer.. i have to drive half an hour to get to the nearest store then half an hour back so this is really getting to the point where i just want a refund.
    Suggestions? Please....
I love mac but my PC never did this to me....
    {end of rant}

    Hi ElijahClark,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions
Alright so you have had the drive replaced twice and it still does not work. Where exactly did you get it sent from? Did you talk to a Mac Genius at the Apple Store? Some things to do:
Try another Apple Store, get a second opinion. Its like going to the doctors, if a doctor doesn't solve your problem after awhile it is time to think about going to a different one.
Call Apple. Call Apple Tech Support and explain to them everything that is going on. I am not sure about Apple's policy about replacing computers, but they can probably help you out.
And the most important thing, stay cool, calm, and collective. Everyday Mac Techs are hassled about problems that they can't fix. For an example, I saw one guy flip out because the Mac Genius couldn't put a new Powerbook logic board right in front of him now. It turns out this guy had not only dropped but split lemonade on the keyboard. They vent on the Techs. When you see a Mac Genius or someone like that, they will not only appreciate it if you are cool and calm, but they will be mostly likely more helpful/patient. Be collective, make sure you fully understand everything that the Tech tells you. I would bring a notebook to write down any notes or questions. Make sure you describe your computers problem as detailed as possible. This will help when you review and think about options.
    I hope that helps,
    Jon
PS I would talk to an Apple Genius then Apple Phone Support. PCs have a lot more problems in the long run then Macs (my experience). I have seen grown men almost in tears because their PCs are not working properly.

  • ICal invites are not received by some people (I know why, but Apple won't fix it)

I switched to icloud a while back and have the maddening problem of SOME people not receiving invites, and have discovered what causes it (at least in my case):
If the user you are sending to has an itunes (or apple id) account with that email as the login (and that email is NOT an icloud email) they will never receive the iCal invite! Instead it gets routed to their (non setup) icloud account. If they start using icloud for their calendars with this same external email address as login, they will receive them there (directly on their calendar if it is setup). Apple refuses to forward it to their real email address, the one we are sending it to. I have reported it to Apple several times but they are not inclined to fix it, probably because they want to force external users to use icloud. This is mega frustrating. Many of my friends do not receive invites, forcing me to use Google calendar for events with those friends. I prefer the general interface and look of icloud/ical invites, but I need to be able to actually invite people!

    ssuess wrote:
Not for me, but let me verify the following type scenario with you:
    1. Your person to invite has a gmail address ([email protected])
    2. That gmail address is their Apple ID/iTunes login name (this is the most important piece)
    3. They may have some icloud service on (like note syncing) but do not use icloud calendaring or mail (or may have signed up for mail but never check it)
    4. Your icloud/ical invite arrives properly in their gmail inbox (at [email protected])?
Is all the above true? For me, the above scenario results in no email being received at the address I sent it to (number 4), it gets routed/lost in icloud if that is their Apple ID login.
Like I said, I do not have the issue you have, all my invites are received regardless of the email provider and user ID's I just send to the correct address and that's it. Frankly if what you said was common the service would be useless, but it works for millions. The problem is at your end, not everybody's.
The login name is just a text string to iCloud, not an address.

  • HT3376 I am not receiving emails in my Mail account.  However, I am receiving them on my web based yahoo account and on my ipad.  The other strange thing is that on my Mac, I have been receiving emails from Apple.  How can i fix this problem?

I am not receiving email messages in my Mail account on my Mac OSX.  However, emails are being received on my ipad and my yahoo web site.  Also, all emails from Apple are going through in my Mail account.  How do I fix this problem?

Well, the other person said theirs was working now. On yours let's try this...
Not certain, but this can fix myriad Mail problems...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup),  it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move this folder & file to the Desktop.
Move this Folder to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/
Move this file to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index
    Reboot.
If that doesn't do it and you can afford to redo all your Rules, try these & reboot...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist.backup
Note, in 10.5 & up /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/ may or may not exist.

  • I purchased National Geographics Magazine yearly subscription back in December and to date have not received my Monthly Magazine.  National Geog say they can't help me as the purchase was done through APPLE.  Apple also don't seem to want to help.  anyone

I purchased National Geographics Magazine yearly subscription back in December.  Since then I have not received my Monthy Magazine.  i also purchased the December Edition separately.  Since I have Sync my iPad to my Computer i have lost everything.  I have contacted National Geog but they tell me that they are unable to help as both my Subscription and the Dec. Issue were purchased through APPLE.  I have also contacted Apple who have also been of no help, telling me that i need to contact National Geog.
Can anyone out there offer any HELP?

Thanks for reading and thanks for the advice. Perhaps I'll ask them about it next time this problem occurs, although carrying the thing through a mall that is only about a mile away is the least of my worries. I'll do if it is both free (I don't make enough at my job to pay for such a service) and relatively speedy, although I'd hate for them to come over and for the computer to work properly (as bad as that sounds). It'd be a wasted trip and nothing would get fixed.
I'm contemplating videotaping myself performing my "fixes" on it the next time I have this problem.
