TS2634 Connecting a Blue Snowball mic to Ipad Air?

Hello,
Would appreciate some advice: I have a new ipad Air and want to connect it to a Blue Snowball microphone so I can record vocals and instruments using the GarageBand app.
Could you tell me which cable I need to connect the two and enable recording?
There appears to be conflicting information online about whether or not you can connect the Snowball to an Ipad Air?
Thanks in anticipation.

  • Can I connect the Blue Snowball Mic to my iphone 4 and If I can How do I do it?

Im thinking of buying the Blue snowball mic, it sounds like a really good quality except im not sure if it would work well with the iphone 4. I seen a youtube video of a guy using it on his ipad.. Im using this to record a group session with the evernote app. Does anyone own a blue snow ball app and use it with his iphone 4? Or and if not does it or can it work with a Samsung Galaxy Pad?

the headset connector have 3 rings the middle on is mic in you could camabalize a cable and connect a mic directly into the headset
mind you make sure the mic signal you put in is not too powerful vs. the mic in headsets or you could blow something

  • Ios 4.2 issues - anyone tested the Blue Snowball mic yet?

I've been using a Blue Snowball mic for recording through the camera connection, which has worked fine with ios 3.2.2.
Having read about the power loss apparently inherent in ios 4.2, I'm hesitant to upgrade; I have read of problems with one of Blue's other USB mic's a more advanced model that may need more power but nothing yet regarding the Snowball.
I hate being the "guinea pig" - has anyone tried the Blue Snowball with ios 4.2? IF it works I'll upgrade as that's my only current USB use other than a HD Camcorder; the fact that 4.2 apparently works with the UNO MIDI interface is very attractive, but not at the expense of the Snowball mic.
    Thanks -

How dó you connect Blue snowball to iPhone?

  • BLUE SNOWBALL MIC

I've recentely purchased the Blue Snowball Mic, the one the plugs straight into the USB port. I've however been unable to figure out how to use it in Logic. It works fine in Garageband, but even after I set it up in the Logic Setup Assistant it resorts back to the Built-In Audio. If anyone knows how to get the mic up and running, I'd really appreciate the help. The sound quality is pretty good and I'm really excited to start messing around with it so please help!! Thanks!

How do I go about doing that? I already went to the AudioMidiSetup and set the blue snowball as the default audio input, but same problem. What does the aggregate device do? Thanks for your help.

  • Can't get Blue Snowball mic to appear on Audio Hardware selections in Premiere Pro CC

I have attached a Blue Snowball Mic to my system (Mac) and when I go to use it for making voice overs in Premiere Pro CC the mic does not show up on my Audio Hardware menu under preferences, so I can't use it.  Strangely the mic works fine with Audible CC.  I did not discover any specific drivers online that would assist...not sure why there's a problem. Any ideas?
    System:
    iMac late 2012,
    3.4 gHz Intel Core i7
    16gb Ram 1600 MHz DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2048 MB
    OS X 10.9

Did you ever get your issue resolved? I had a CAD 37 usb mic that Premiere Pro CC wouldn't recognize. Then I got a Blue Yeti with the same result. My Imac recognized them both but Premiere Pro CC would not recognize. I have a 2013 Imac so I don't think it's a computer issue. When I had Premiere Pro 6.0 I didn't have a problem with microphones being recognized.

Who can shed some light on my ongoing connection problem.
After upgrading my iPad Air with IOS 7.06, I could no longer connect to the internet.
I have 2 MacBooks Air, 1 ipad mini and one iPhone 4S running on the same network, and they are all connected to the net and function well.
So I cleaned up the ipad completely, installed the latest firmware and reinstalled my apps : no connection.
I tried all things of resets and forgets. No result.
I have been fondling with my Airport Extreme 5 , but that did not help much.
This morning I went to a neighbor , hooked my ipad air on his network, typed the password and the thing all worked fine.
I have tried to connect the ipad air as an ethernet client, but that did not work. „Not enough power“ was the statement
    Ideas anyone ?

Yes I tried this manyfold. But did not work.  Reading on, I took Tesserac's advice. Shut down router and computer.
Start router after 15 minutes and wait another 10 minutes before starting the computer.
Et voila.... everything is back in working order,

  • Can i connect my canon 7d to my iPad air

Can I connect my Canon EOS 7D camera to my iPad Air with or without a cable for picture download or remote shooting.

You can connect your Canon 7D to your iPad Air to download photos from the camera to the iPad. You need two items to do this.
    1. You need the USB cable that came with your camera. it has the small USB connector at one end and a standard USB connector at the other end.
    2. You need a Lightning to USB Camera Adapter.

There may be some way to do remote shooting but I'm not sure of this. I suggest you ask the question on a forum specific to cameras like Digital Photo Review (DPR). http://www.dpreview.com/forums/1032

  • Blue Snowball Mic and Captivate

I recently purchased the Blue Snowball (USB) Mic to use with
Captivate. It's properly configured through windows and works in
other Apps, but it not working in Captivate.
    Please advise

Hi MissDona and welcome to the community
Well, I see you are totally new here, so my guess is that you
logged into the forums after noticing the issue. Had you done this
prior to purchasing the mic, you could have performed a search and
discovered that USB microphones are often troublesome with
Captivate. We typically recommend using the type of mic that has
the little phono plug like you typically see at the end of earbud
headphones and plugs into the Walkman, IPod or other MP3 type
    player.
Perhaps returning to the store and exchanging for this type
of microphone (or headset speaker mic) is an option?
Sorry, but I have no "easy button" solution for the USB mic.
I only know from reading posts that they are frequently not
recognized by Captivate. I've also seen reports where Captivate
recognizes them off and on. Maybe they could record audio once or
    twice, then it suddenly stopped.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Vocal buzz with Blue snowball mic

I'm recording vocals into garage band, with the track set for vocals with no effects, and I'm getting a lot of buzz/distortion. This is somewhat replicated in the acoustic guitar as well.
The levels in the track mixer are never clipping, and I've experimented with different input levels on the Mac system preferences, as well as with different differences from the mic.
Is there something I'm missing, like a separate input level by track, or for Garageband in particular?
Or do is the mic broken?

You should contact BlUE about your mic. I have seen reports and reviews stating that the Blue snowball was defective right out of the box.

  • Connecting a stereo mic to iPad Air?

I've been recording instructional videos involving double bass into a camera, using a great portable condenser mic to record the audio so that it's synced with the video. The mic is the audio technica 2022 ( http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/761016-REG/Audio_Technica_AT2022_AT2022_X_ Y_Stereo_Microphone.html , a stereo self-powered condenser that terminates in a 3.5mm cable for input. It sounds perfect on the bass. I recently bought an iPad air and would like to use it for video, but would like to be able to input the same stereo sound when I record. What kind of external device will I need to get the mic signal into the iPad for vdieo recording?
    Thanks in advance!

  • Make it easier to use Blue Snowball mic with Logic

This post is intended for Apple to see. Perhaps this problem is fixed in Logic Pro/Express 7.2.
The Blue Snowball was designed for GarageBand and works great with it, right out of the box.
But trying to use it with Logic is like pulling teeth or debugging a Java program. 1. You have to create an Aggregate Device in Apple MIDI setup.
    2. Once you do that, you still record blank audio tracks unless you read the forum posts really carefully and find out that you can use I/O slot Input 3 or Input 4 on the audio track you want to record with the Snowball. Once you do that you're OK.
My beef is that since Apple would love people to upgrade from GarageBand to Logic, and a few people will, and the Blue works great, right out of the box, with GB, your developers should figure out whether it's a relatively easy fix to make Logic Pro - and especially Express, the "logical" upgrade for most GB users - use the Blue Snowball right out of the box the minute they install Logic Express, Pro, or Logic Express Trial.
Dual G5 and PowerBook   Mac OS X (10.4.4)   4GB RAM on Dual G5

I understand what you're saying about the "sound software principles", but you are probably an expert sound technician, and I'm not - yet. I have lots of learning to do. I come in as a musical person, a composer. I've also been a software developer at a "low" (i e industrial DP with Java, not C++ or Objective-C).
I'm speaking from the point of view of a customer at the Apple store. Say he's a newbie, like me. He (or she) gets GarageBand and then, noticing that it's featured item at the Apple store, gets a Blue Snowball.
A little later this person falls in love with digital music-making and downloads Logic Express Trial. Suddenly s/he finds that the Snowball records blank tracks. S/he complains, perhaps bitterly, to Apple or to her/his friendss about how this great microphone doesn't work with Logic. S/he is not used to reading forum posts, looking for FAQs, in short, doing all I had to do to find out how to make the Blue work.
It's not software, it's marketing, and usability. If there are good reasons not to change Logic, then at least Apple - and/or Blue - should have an FAQ or an insert in the documentation telling you what to do to make your Snowball record if you upgrade from GB to Logic. It's simply not customer-friendly! And some people who get Logic Express will never understand or care about the software design and technology. Neither Apple nor Blue wants annoyed customers. I happen not to be an annoyed customer only because I hunted through the forums and figured out what to do.. and it was -anything- but intuitive!

  • How do you connect a USB MIDI keyboard to iPad Air?

    Hello,
I can't get my USB keyboards to connect to my iPad Air.  I used to use the camera connection kit with my 1st gen iPad and it worked perfectly.  Now when trying to connect using my camera connector plugged into a lightning to 30 pin adapter with the iPad Air I get no response when trying to use my keyboards with Garageband, etc.  This seems like a step backwards!!!
Can anyone advise on how to use a USB MIDI keyboard with the iPad Air?
    Thanks,
    Richard

    Same problem here...
I just read on another forum that someone managed to connect a midi device using a simple converter.
I have a digital piano with the square type USB connector, bought an adapter to convert the iPad Air's ligtning USB cable's USB end to that square connector, plugged it in, GarageBand did not respond to the Midi input.
on a macbook pro it works ok, but would be nice to use the iPad now that I bought it...

  • Blue line on screen iPad air

I purchased a iPad air 16 December 2013, and have been extremely happy with this.  Until 14 February 2014, it has suddenly developed a thin blue line across the screen horizontally top to bottom.  I have read that others have experienced this and that I should return to the store.  My problem is I purchased this from the Apple Store in Hawaii and I live in New Zealand, so I am unable to return this to the store.  Any suggestions on what I could do?

You can attempt to reset the iPad by holding down the home and power buttons for 15 to 30 seconds until you see the silver apple then let your iPad start normally, if the line still shows up, i would recommend that you backup and restore the device as new and see if the line still shows up. If so your screen would need repair or replacement.
