TS2634 I get no sound with my earbuds

When I plug imy apple earbuds into my iPad I don't get any sound either when playing music or trying to listen to an Audible book.

Do you have something else you can plug those buds into, to make sure they work?
Is the plug all the way in?
There's a switch on the side by the volume rocker, it can be an all mute or rotation lock, is your device muted?

• HT3986 I have a Macbook Pro, have recently upgraded to OS 7, have installed the bootcamp option, and am not getting any sound with using windows applications.

I am getting no sound with I use windows programs on my Macbook Pro. I am operating with the bootcamp option. The sound works fine with I am running the MAC OS 7
I read that my problem could be a driver, but I am unsure how to get this driver and how to install it.

Read the Boot Camp installation guide http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/boot_camp_install-setup_10.7.pdf. You download the drivers during the installation process. Then you install the downloaded drivers after booting into Windows. You can also go to the source to get the sound drivers for your comuter. Search this forum and you will find posts with the url  from which to download the drivers.

• I am not getting any sound with my apps, only itunes, any thoughts?

I am not getting any sound with my apps, only itunes, any thoughts?

Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the iPod and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. The function that isn't on the side switch is set via the taskbar instead : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4085

• Problem Getting 3D Sound With AWE64 Gold Card in DOS

Hi,
I cannot get 3D Sound to work with my AWE64 Gold Card in MS-DOS.
In the C:>SB16 directory, I type CT3DSE to enable 3D Enhancement Technology but I receive the message, your card does not support 3D Sound Technology. I was able to activate it in the past and now I can't.
I installed the DOS drivers from the AWE64 Gold CD - so incorrect drivers are not the issue here.
Could it be that there's not enough free Conventional Memory to activate this feature? I have 510KB free.
Can anyone help?
Thanks.

Mystery solved.
There are at least two models of the AWE 64 Gold: The CT4540 and the CT4390. The 4540 does NOT support 3D Creative Enhancement Technology. The 4930 does. This may seem odd as one would expect the higher model to be more advanced.

• Cant get stereo sound with alsa

i installed arch about 5 or 6 months ago and setup alsa for sound
The problem is that only the left speaker is working.  Somehow i have gone all this time without ever noticing.  I probably would still have not noticed except i booted into windows the other day, for the first time in about a year, and realized that I had two speakers working with media player.
i've scanned through the wiki and done some google and forum searching, but i can't seem to find anything about getting stereo sound to work with alsa.
Is anybody else having this problem?  What can i do to make both speakers work?

• Cannot get the sound with a transferred Powerpoint presentation

I networked a Powerpoint presentation from my Windows XP to my iMac G5. On my mac, I have the Student and Teachr Edition of Office:Mac which has PP. If I open the presentation in Powerpoint on the mac, I can get the pictures but cannot get the sound. I think I have set the PP preferences correctly and the size of the file on both computers is the same.
Is there anything I can do to get the sound portion of the presentation?
Thanks

I don't know if this applies to PP, but I have had my sound prefs knocked out of whack by apps and not realized it. Others have found that opening a loop in Garage Band resets the prefs to the right settings, but you can do the same thing by opening the "Audio MIDI Setup" in your Utilities folder. Be sure that the format of audio inputs and outputs are set to 44100.0Hz.
Hopefully that fixes it.

• I'm getting no sound with firefox 4, it's outputting to the wrong audio device and I can't find a way to fix it in options

Since I've updated to firefox 4 the program has decided that it wants to output it's sound to any driver it pleases instead of outputting to the playback device I have set up as my default device. the only way I can get it to output correctly is to shut off every other device besides the one I want used. I have a 5.1 surround sound system and a 7.1 surround sound headset I use with my computer and would like to deside what output I want to use for my internet browser instead of it deciding it wants to use an output I don't have anything hooked up to.

First you have to buy and install 10.6 Snow Leopard:

Once you upgrade it to 10.6.6 you will have access to the App Store.

With the new 3.1 update and the addition of voice memos, if I get the earbuds with the built in microphone, will that function even work?

I can't imagine your can't. Haven't tried, but I have been using the cheapy headset/mic that came with my blackberry on my 2g ipod touch for Skype - works great

• Trying to get this "One" sound with Logic pro 8

Hi everyone i spent like 2 hours last night trying to get this sound with Logic Pro 8 soft synths trying to find a sound exactly like or close to this sound: http://home.comcast.net/~tommykry/Weezer%20-%20Troublemaker.mp3
The sound can be heard at 00:19 and through out the song, its like a low bass synth kind of sound that drifts down when its hit, like a portamento kind of thing. In live weezer videos the bass player is hitting a pad on a keyboard so i know its a key sound not a bass guitar slide. ive heard this sound in trance and techno songs as well. I have Sonar 8 and pro tools 8 as well and can look there if i have too, also have an Access viress Ti, But im trying to do this all in Logic. Like i said i played around for like more than 2 hours going through most of all the Logic synths, patch after patch trying to find something close i could tweak, so if anyone has more experience with The Soft synths in Logic Pro 8 and can steer me in the right direction i would be greatful.
Thanks
Tommy

In live weezer videos the bass player is hitting a pad on a keyboard so i know its a key sound not a bass guitar slide.
He could just be triggering a bass slide sample...
It's some kind of bass sound that bends down, in a similar style to what a bass player might do. Whether it's a real bass or a synth is difficult to say (and probably doesn't matter a great deal), but in any case it's certainly compressed, and grunged up dirty with some amp sim or distortion...
Try that route...

• How to get your sound quality great in Vi

Guys,
Ive installed vista64 since i did a major upgrade along with my X-FI Gamer Fatality Soundcard, i always thought it dont sound great at all.
Ive just figured out why, in the sound options of the control panel where you can select the quality of sound always select 48hz studio quality dont go for the 96hz studio quality.
Do this in all the sound settings for each device and then tailor it to 5. or stereo which every you prefer, then goto the creative console and match it eg 5., stereo etc.
If needed test the channels and see how nice it sounds. as you will notice so long as you have a decent setup it will sound more fuller in apps and games.
I was using 96hz studio quality and always thought why it sounded so flat but as soon as i changed it to 48hz studio quality its sounding like i was using XP again, wmp sounds really good, full 5.ch and so are my games.
You can say now im totally satisfied with vista 64/32, sounds great and it plays all my games really well. Anyways i hope this helps all you out there, let us know how you get on.

• No sound with Blu-Ray

I have a e9150t with a blu-ray dvd player. I can't get any sound with my external speakers. The only way I seem to be able to get sound is with blue tooth headphones. I tried disabling all but the external and making them the default but they still don't work. They work with everything else so I know it's not them.

There should be two or even more options in the sound properties.  One will be a generic one the other one should be a HDMI or hi dif one.  I think you deleted one by accident.  I think if you uninstall the sound driver, restart the machine and reinstall the sound driver it should put them back.
You can uninstall the sound driver by going to the control panel, programs and select the sound driver to remove it.
To install it go to start, all programs, my toshiba, toshiba application installer.  Select the sound driver.  Hope this works.

• 5.1 sound with 7.1 speakers

I'm trying to get 5.1 sound through my av reciever which has a 7.1 setup. I have an onkyo HT-R580 and the Fatal1ty Pro. I'm getting all the sound I want but the rear speaker sounds are coming out of the side speakers. I'm getting proper sound with all my other devices (ps3, xbox 360, tv receiver, and even the av receiver itself), so I know its a problem on my computer. I have windows 7 with all the updates and all updated drivers for the sound card. Any help would be appriciated. Thank you.

Ah, so you are using an Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro Series, PCIe!? Sry, on the source i looked before I couldn't found any Fatal1ty Pro than XtremeGamer, but you could have written that already a bit more detailed before. Sure the Titanium has optical output - either i wouldn't recommend that card and output, maybe just in rare cases because:
- No Titanium card can even decode any Dolby/DTS, just Titanium HD can Encode DDL/DTSC .
- As i said optical only provides 5.1 so anything else just can be upmixed with an 7.1 receiver.
- Optical ( <a title="6Mbits" target="_self" href="http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sony/Philips_Digital_Interface#Zukunft">6 Mbit/s under special conditions) doesn't have enough Bandwith for Dolby True HD (<a title="18Mbits" target="_self" href="http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dolby_TrueHD">18 Mbit/s) and DTS-HD Master (<a title="24.5Mbits" target="_self" href="http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Theater_Systems_High_Definition">24,5 Mbit/s). Here you would need Analog (even <a title="Intel HD-A 48Mbits" target="_self" href="http://www.elektronik-kompendium.de/sites/com/0912201.htm">Intel HD-A provides 48Mbit on stereo) or HDMI (yet only <a title="1.3a X-FIs" target="_self" href="http://geizhals.eu/?cat=sndpci&amp;sort=artikel&amp;bpmax=&amp;asuch= dts&amp;asd=on&amp;v=e&amp;plz=&amp;dist=&amp;filt er=+Liste+aktualisieren+&amp;xf=994_PCIe~1217_24bi t%2F192kHz">1.3a X-FIs are available so <a title="8.16Bits" target="_self" href="http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_Definition_Multimedia_Interface">8,16 Gbit/s shared with video).
So what are your settings on your PC? You should set 5.1 and let the receiver upmix it to 7.1. Anything else can't work. • No sound with Flash and Win7

I updated Flash yesterday to the newest version. My computer speakers work fine. I get no sound with flash video.  So far I have tried most things listed. Still no sound. My flash video sound worked fine four days ago before the update. I was not able to reinstall an older version of Flash. My computer with XP has Flash sound.  Is this going to get fixed?

Listed where?
See if this helps http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/837/cpsid_83739.html
If not, see also http://www.codecguide.com/fix_for_flash_sound_problems.htm

Easiest is to do a System Restore to a date before the update.
