TS2634 my ipad will not play auxillary microphone

I have an ipad 3rd gen and i am running ios6. I just bought an auxiliary lavalier microphone audio technicha atr-3350. I have purchased two different adapters for ipad for the audio jack trying to get the ipad to recognize it. I replaced batteries in the mic, and I I replaced the mic. still...it will not recognized the mic.
there is no sound recorded from the microphone on the ipad, but the mic works on other devices.
is there a mute on the mic? do i have to install the mic somewhere? help please!

If you lose sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds may have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the task bar. Double tap the home button and in the task bar at the bottom, swipe all the way to the right. The speaker icon is all the way to the left. Tap on it and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock rotation can be accessed via the task bar in the same manner as described above.

Music plays in the Music app - not iTunes. Videos play in the Videos App - not in the Music App. Is that what you are doing? If you are using the correct apps for the appropriate content - quit the apps and restart.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

I have the same problem but only on my iPad (after iOS7, even after changing SIM), Load very few videos from Youtube, unable to watch video from internet browser. iPhone works OK. Is there anyone there who knows why?

This has been an ongoing problem for me too. With my iPad 2 I buy a tv show or rent a movie and it does not show up in the Video App. This is very frustrating (= very upset Apple customer) You spend money to see something remotely, wait along time to download it, potentially incur or use precious minutes with your limited data plan and in the end can not view it. Additionally, the entire process has some severe usability issues. Why do you have to go to another App to see your movies. When you click purchase you should be first presented a download time bar and then either as it is in the midst of being downloaded be able to start watching it and/or after it has been downloaded you should be provided the movie to view it. Not bumped to the landing page of the iTunes App. how stupid is that. So you are there at the landing page for iTunes. Your first inclination is to try to navigate within iTunes to see it. If it is a,TV show that you rented your first inclination is to go to the TV show section. Then form there you will like deduce that you need to go to Purchases. but when you click Purchases it instead takes you first to Music purchases. Then you might see or realize that there is a,TV show tab in the Purchases section, so you go there and and as opposed to showing you a chronological list of most recent individual purchases is defaults to a list of full seasonal TV show purchases, so then you see the seasonal show and it show an iCloud butont to download then entire season, hmm that would suck to then download the entire season, use all your minutes and then not be able to view any show cause even thoses don't show up in the Apple video App. I mean come on this really terrible, TERRIBLE useability.
So I have gone to the Apple Video App and nothing shows. I have done a search from the Apple search you can access when swiping right from the initial page of App icons. I actually see the TV show name listed from the title name search I do. And indeed it shows an associated Video App icon but when I click it momentarily (split second looks to be loading the video App and then crashes? And takes me back to the first screen of App icons.
So I simply can not watch any show with ITunes.
Netflix on the hand make the entire process a one click experience.

I tried to re-install clear my internet history. I also waited until it was full charged.
Not sure what to do, everything else is working perfect.

Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
No data is lost due to a reset.

Try a Reset:
From the Home screen double tap the Home button to view the multitasking bar at the bottom. Tap and hold an app at the bottom till the icons wiggle with the minus button visible. Tap the button to close all apps then tap the Home button to get back to the Home page. Press and hold the Sleep button till you see the Slide to power off message and power it off. Once powered down completely press and hold the sleep button till the Apple icon appears.

IPad will not play movies when I try to restart them.

I rented a couple movies prior to a buisness trip. When I was sitting at the airport, I started one of the movies and watched while I was waiting on my plane. They called my plane so I turned on airplane mode, shut down my I pad, and got on the plane. When I restarted my IPad on the plane, it would not play the movie. I could see the chapters, I could see the other movies I had rented and downloaded, but none of them would play. I even tried to play one of my other downloads and it did not work. Is this because I was in Airplane mode? I could play one of the movies I own that is on the IPad, just not the rentals. Once I was home, my IPad hooked back up to my wireless, and worked fine and I watched the rest of the movie. Is there some issue why this is not working? If I can't rent movies to watch on an airplane, I am going to be pretty bitter.

First thing to try is a reboot of your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
You won't have to swipe anything on the screen to reboot the iPad. Hopefully this will correct the error.

iOS devices cannot play every format that can be played on other devices. You can convert unsupported formats to a supported format for import to your iOS device.

The Canon Technical Specification for the Canon PowerShot SX230 HS states video formats as:

So, it should work shouldn't it? Still, I'd like to hear from anyone with an iPad 1 and a Canon PowerShot camera to make sure that 720p will play back on the iPad 1 without any conversion being required!

The sound from certain TV shows I bought on my iPad will not play through AirPlay on Apple TV.

I recently bought a couple of tv shows on my ipad. When I play them through airplay on my apple tv, only some play the audio while others do not at all. For example, Downtown Abbey plays perfectly (sound and video) while Homeland does not (only video). I am using an original ipad, and a new apple tv. Any ideas? I've been having this problem since the new Apple Tv update. I wish Apple would address the issue but I've found out the new update changed my audio settings within the AppleTV. Go to settings>>Audio & Video>> then scroll down to the Dolby Digital setting and if it says ON (on,Auto,off) then switch it to Auto.. and presto you have audio again.. Found this out myself when I was about to rewatch the League season 1.. For some reason I orginaly had it set to auto but the new update changed it to On. Really getting sick and tired of Apple lately.

I have a number of movies on my ipad showing in Videos, most on stored on icloud (i think). I can start playing the movies but within a few seconds they stop and I get a message say "Storage Almost Full". I thought by storing the movies in the cloud I am saving space on my ipad and can access and play those movies any time. What am I doing wrong?
