TS2634 while my ipad2 battery gets charged from USB of laptop, it is not gtg charged with power cable adapter?
hey anyone knows likely cause or solution?
If you can charge via USB, but not via Wall Charger, you have a defective wall charger. Get a new one.

A2109A: Strange battery charging from USB
My 1st try with ICS stock ROM was, a shutdown A2109A never laoded 80% over night from a shutdown PC with a standard PC cable. Then I upgraded to JB and with the same pc and the same cable it loaded 100% within hours. I charged it a few times this way. And then it didn't charge more than 40% for 2 days. With the original charger I could load it to 100%.
Does anyone have similar experiences?
Solved!
Go to Solution.USB ports are only spec'd to deliver 1/2 amp to devices that need power. Some can deliver more, but the spec is 500 mA (1/2 amp). Your tablets charger delivers 2 full amps or 4 times the power that a USB port is supposed to deliver. USB 3.0 ports can deliver 950 mA or almost twice the power, but still only half of what is needed, Most tablets regardless of brand will not charge off of a USB port. It is not a problem with the tablet, but a limit of the USB spec.

Ipod video 60 GB won´t charge from USB
Hi my ipod won´t charge thru usb cable instead it will deplete the whole battery, I have tried connecting it in several ports, several computers and with 3 different usb cables with no luck, I noticed it will only charge thru my old firewire charger and dock, what can I do? When plugged into the usb cable it says "charging" but it does not.
I have resetted everything with no luck.
Thank youI have changed it from usb ports I have putted it in different computers and nothing, when connected to the usb port of any computer back, front sides or wahtever it doesn´t charge it actually drains the battery, I have also drained the battery fully and let it off for 2 days and no still won´t charge from usb after 5 hours connected to the usb, it will only charge via a firewire charger or my monster cable.

How do I get apps from Amazon...m S note locks me out of everything but google?
They'll also need to go into their Settings > Security and check the box for Unknown Sources. I'd highly suggest removing the check once the Amazon apps are installed.

I am on a wireless network and keep getting messages from ITunes stating that I am not on a wireless network. I know the wireless is working. Itunes will not allow me to rent a movie until i get on the wireless network of which I am already on. Help.
I just bought two song without problem, then i tried to get the video of the week (free) in canada and I had the same message as you.
the video is just over 50 MB, which is the new limit for file size for App on IOS over 3G and LTE.
I tried on my iPhone same thing. I even put it in the Airplane mode, and then activeated the WiFi
with the same result.
I then bought another song, smaller than 50 MB and it worked.
My video is not listed as Bought, and it is not available in the "Check for available downoload"
Did any of you had tried to buy something under the size of 50 MB ?
Try the free song to see if is it seize related.

My iPod Shuffle is not charging from USB
Hi,
My iPod Shuffle is perfectly operationnal when connected to my laptop thru a USB port. I can see it with iTunes et it syncs perfectly. The only problem, it does not charge. I see the yellow light flashing for a few seconds, while it syncs and then nothing.
I run Windows 8.1 on an ASUS laptop. I have disabled the USB suspension. Driver is not authorized to turn off the port to save energy.
When I connect my iPod Shuffle to a desktop computer (running Windows Vista), everything is fine.
Any clue?
ThxI don't know where "fix" this will be (Microsoft, Asus, or Apple), but this may be what's going on...
When an iPod is NOT set to Enable disk use (or Manually manage music), iTunes only mounts the iPod's disk when syncing. The rest of the time, the iPod's disk is not mounted. There may be a "feature" on your laptop, and/or in Windows 8, that attempts to save energy by putting the USB port into a low-power mode, when the connected storage device (the iPod in this case) is not mounted. When iTunes unmounts the iPod's disk after syncing, it may look like an external storage device that no longer needs full power, even though an iPod needs full power to charge its battery.
When an iPod IS set to Enable disk use (or Manually manage music), iTunes keeps the iPod's disk mounted continuously. Therefore, the USB port stays at full-power mode and the iPod's battery is able to charge.
I know you said
I have disabled the USB suspension. Driver is not authorized to turn off the port to save energy.
but maybe that setting is not working properly (as it relates to iTunes/iPod), and that's the cause.
A desktop computer does not run on battery power, so it may not have this feature; saving energy is not a high priority when the power source is the wall outlet, not a battery. Or, Windows Vista may not have this feature. Therefore, the USB port gets full power whether the connected storage device is mounted or not.
One additional test you can try is to see if it makes a difference if the laptop's power adapter is connected or disconnected. When the power adapter is connected, the laptop has "unlimited" access to energy from the wall outlet (like the desktop), so maybe the USB ports stay at full power all the time. -
Ipad 2 won't charge from ipad charger, but will sync and charge from USB!
Hi
I have been having some issues with charging my Ipad 2 and have searched the internet but can't find a solution.
I can charge and sync my ipad from my computer but it will not charge from the mains charger (2 amp) provided with the ipad. - Therefore there is no problem with either the lead or the pins on the ipad
I know the cable works as it is the one i am using to sync to the PC. The charger also works to charge my iphone. - Therefore no issues with the charger.
I have rebooted the ipad.
I have also restored the ipad back to its orignal settings and restored a back up from Itunes.
All so far have had no effect on using the charger to charge the ipad.
Perhaps a trip to the Istore is the only option?
thanksTake your iPad, cable & charger to the Apple Store.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. now my laptop wouldn't power on just on the battery, everything works fine if it is on charging, but the battery does not hold charge and my system powers off immediately on removing AC adapter. the battery shows "28% Charging" but does not increase or decrease the percentage even after hours of charging both while system is on and off.
i checked the battery in battery test from HP Support Assistant and it says that the battery status is ok, now i have tried the below methods with no luck :
power off and press power button methods.
uninstall and reinstall battery from device manager methods.
battery check from HP Assistant.
updating Bios to F.1b method.
updating the HP Support Assistant.
and all the other methods i could think of or read on HP's site.
can anyone guide me as to what is the issue here ? i don't have another machine to test my battery on, the charging lights are fine except that the light does not change color which it did on full charging the battery. i did try on 2 different adapters.
now if it were a motherboard or IC issue, would it not have said 'not charging' in windows ? in my case it says charging.
any help would be greatly appreciated.Hello, M_Bilal
Welcome to the HP Forums.
That you for provided such a detailed post with what you've already completed, for the issue with your battery. I will try to guide you further.
I would like to provide you further documents for troubleshooting, but you've essentially completed what I have for this issue. The only step left, would be to test the battery.
You can do this with another battery, or in another notebook. I know you mention another machine, but if you know someone who does or someone who has a compatible battery. This would test that. You could even see if a local computer shop could test it.
The reason for this, is if the battery is the problem, it's much easier and more affordable replacement. Also, you mention it being new, might have warranty.
The other possible cause to the issue you've touched on, that would be the system board. Testing the above, would just confirm if this is the problem or not. From there you could decide on what you'd like to do.
I know, there really aren't many suggestions here, but I hope this can provide you with the next step.
Let me know how things go, with the route you choose to troubleshoot.
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums.

[MuVo Slim] Charging from USB p
Hi
Over on the Nomadness MuVo forum someone asked about how to charge a MuVo Slim when away from their PC as it charges via the USB port.
I answered that if all they needed was a powered USB hub then they could buy an external, self-powered hub and then connect the player to it, without it being connected to a PC.
Would this work or does the player need to be connected to the PC for the charging cycle to begin? Or does it just need the power that the port supplies?
PBYes, I also tried this with a CyberPower 420 MP USB hub that is battery powered with an on/off switch http://www.cyberpowersystems.com/CPH420MP.asp But even with that hub turned on, it would not charge the Slim unless I connected the hub to a PC.
I use the Zen Micro charger to charge my Slim when I'm not near a PC. I had read an SSR post on this board where he recalled that someone had said that combo (Slim and Micro charger) would work. The Zen Micro charger provides 000mA, which is high for a flash MP3 device (higher is good) from 5V. So I tried it and it has worked fine. (I had a Zen Micro as well as the Slim, so it cost me nothing extra.) -
my daughter's i-pad mini will not charge up from the wall socket and it will not show itself on i-tunes via my pc... i substituted the power charger from my i-phone to no avail with the wall socket... seems like i read that the earlier i-pads have some problems with the lightning socket but can not remember exactly...there is no apple retail shop in the small city where i live but would travel to one if the fix is relatively quick or easy...otherwise, what can i do for diagnosis and repair?
Most likely your cable is bad and you need to get a replacement.

IPod will charge from Windows 8 Laptop but won't connect to iTunes
I have a 4th Gen iPod 32GB that's about two years old or so. After upgrading to iTunes 12, I could not get my device to so much as charge from my laptop, never mind sync. So after screwing around the control panel and trying to figure this out on my own (because frankly, Apple isn't very helpful) I was able to get the iPod to charge from the laptop, however it still will not even show up on the top left menu bar as seen in the picture. I've tried using the old shut down and restart method, recovery mode, swapping USB ports and cables, even uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes. Still nothing. So I try it on my Mom's desktop (Windows 7) (iTunes upgraded to 12 there also), and it registers my iPod and it will sync just fine. I've looked at other community threads and the ones I've found are two years old and the advice didn't work for me anyway. Normally, I would just use the desktop iTunes instead but its a completely different library and I've already purchased songs that I want to put on the iPod. Anyone else have this problem? Solutions?

- I would start with
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
- Then do the other actions of:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
paying special attention to item #5
- New cable unless you used the same cable on the other computer and different USB port
- Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

New iPad owner here. I was wondering if it's normal for the iPad to only charge from the wall charger and not via USB. It syncs up fine but I get the "Not Charging" message as long as its connected to my computer via USB.
I think it is weird that it doesn't charge to any USB-port except the ones on my MacBook Pro. I have USB hubs in my Apple monitor that normally have enough power to supply anything that needs power. I have a standalone powered USB-hub that gives a lot of power. But none of them will charge my iPad.
Other equipment will give you a message that it need more power than the connection has, why doesn't that happen when you connect the iPad to a USB-port that it will not charge from.
My two ports on the MacBook Pro are occupied and it is not an option to connect the iPad there and it is annoying to connect the USB charger and then later connect it to the computers USB-feed.
Not good!
