TS2755 I cannot send or receive text messages to my family which all are connected to my bill.  I was able to at first, but now it has stopped working.

I cannot send or receive text messages to my family which are all connected to my bill.  We were are able to text and recieve before but now it has stopped working.  We are able to text and recieve from other people outside our billing group.  Please help.

Each of you needs a unique Apple ID for messaging, Facetime & iCloud.
Go to appleid.apple.com to create new Apple IDs.

How to change the Apple ID on my iOS Device
Settings > iTunes & App stores.
Tap your AppleID, sign out then sign back in with new AppleID.
Settings > Facetime.
Tap your AppleID, sign out then sign back in with new AppleID.
Settings > Messages.
Turn off iMessages then turn it back on with new AppleID.
Settings > iCloud.
Delete the account then turn it back on with new AppleID.

    it's a software issue... a lot of customers are having all kinds of issues with their new iPhone 4. But, don't be dismayed, there may be a way to fix it.
    some ideas is trying going to settings -> general -> rest -> then tap on "Rest Network Settings". This will then rest all the of network settings, and hopefully fix transmitting and recieving issues that you may have with your iPhone.

    Reset the devices: Hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until you see the apple, then let go.

    Same problem persists also here. Have crosschecked with friend, all same settings, have deleted the contacted, created again, still that number does not receive my SMS (no question on iMessage). Can not even reply her message. This problem persists with few numbers, nothing common, different phones, different countries, different operators. All others, with different operators, in different coutries receive my messages. Even other people can send their SMS to her.

    Wow that must be very inconvenient! Do you know when you last able to send or receive a successful message? Are you able to send and receive e-mails? Is it possible you have a message blocking feature on your account? Are you using a third party messaging app or the standard messaging application from the handset?

    Thank you ChrisJ4203. I checked to be sure SMS was turned on.  I found advice to restart phone and to delete history.  I restarted the phone and deleted all previous messages from that contact. He then received my last three messages, I got his reply, and we seem up and running. Thanks again for your suggestions.

    Hi,
    I'm having a problem sending & receiving text messages to one particular friend. (I have an iPhone 4, she is with another carrier) She can text to other people, as well as I can. Also, we used to be able to text one another. It just all of the sudden stopped one day. We are able to call each other with no problem. I've searched for an answer to this, but couldn't find anyone else with this particular issue...

    Tell her to update the Preferred Roaming List for her cell phone which Verizon recommends every subscriber do on a regular basis - once a quarter at least. This doesn't sound like it should or will have anything to do with this particular problem, but it can.

  • TS2755 How come I cannot send or receive text messages from one of my contacts yet I can call the person from teh same number?

    I have tried to send a text message to one of my contacts but it is never received and I am told they have sent me texts that I have never received.  We both have the correct tel numbers in the contact info. The message shows as sent in green.  Any ideas why or how to fix this.  I already have the most up to date iOS in the phone (iPhone 5).

    Contact your carrier. SMS messaging is completely reliant on the carrier.

    (1) My 4S cannot send text message using SMS/MMS, have to use iMessage. Without WiFi signal, I cannot even receive incoming text messages, unless I have to turn on Cellular Data all the time.

    You need the Cellular Data ON to send MMS messages.  SMS messages should be able send and receive with out the cellular data on.

    Now mail is not working on any of our accounts on the iphone. Works fine on our home networked macs, just not on the iphones. Just hangs up 'checking for mail'.

    Depends on exqaactly what "doesn't work" means. Can you describe what happens when you try?
    Also, you are aware that Messages on iPad is for iMessges only? It doesn't do SMS.
