TS2755 iMessage sent as text for first message
After the iOS 6 update, my iPhone 4S through Sprint will not send iMessages to iMessage users on the first text. It sends the message as a text and when the iMessage user responds it changes to iMessage. How can I fix this? I've restarted my phone over and over and turned iMessage on/off. I've connected to iTunes and tried to see if maybe it's a glitch that has an update but nothing comes up. The only thing I have not done is restored my iPhone, and I would like to do that last if NOTHING else works. Everything is backed up, I sync my phone everyday because of work and scheduling.
My phone does the same thing. The first message I send will send text but after they reply (iMessage) never have any problems. If I get a message from them first it's an iMessage but when I start the conversation it only will send an SMS first. Really annoying, why not iMessage from message 1!!!!!!

Message sent as iMessage instead of text for iPhone without data
My iPhone does not have data. When I am in a wifi zone iMessage works and texts are received. When I am not in wifi, anyone who sends me a text from an iPhone using iMessage does not come through. Is there a setting where iMessages get automatically changed to text messages when receiving messages
Hey there lg2222,
It sounds like you are not getting iMessages from other people when not connected to Wi-Fi. I would first do these steps, if you have not already:
The first step to resolving an issue with iMessage is to update your iOS software and your carrier settings to the latest versions. If iMessage still has an issue, follow the steps below for your issue.
Then use these troubleshooting steps to help isolate and resolve the issue:
To resolve issues with sending and receiving iMessages, follow these steps
Check iMessage system status for current service issues.
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and make sure that you registered iMessage with your phone number or Apple ID and that you selected iMessage for use. If the phone number or Apple ID isn't available for use, troubleshoot iMessage registration.
Open Safari and navigate to www.apple.com to verify data connectivity. If a data connection isn't available, troubleshoot cellular data or a Wi-Fi connection.
iMessage over cellular data might not be available while you're on a call. Only 3G and faster GSM networks support simultaneous data and voice calls. Learn which network your phone supports. If your network doesn't support simultaneous data and voice calls, go to Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi on to use iMessage while you're on a call.
Restart your device.
Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings on your iPhone.
If you still can't send or receive an iMessage, follow these steps
Make sure that the contact trying to message you isn't blocked in Settings > Messages > Blocked.
Make sure that the contact you're trying to send a message to is registered with iMessage.
If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, back up or forward important messages and delete your current messaging threads with the contact. Create a new message to the contact and try again.
If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, delete and recreate the contact in the Contacts app. Create a new message to the newly created contact and try again.
Back up and restore your device as new.

Imessage "sent as text option"
There used to be an option in imessage if you tapped the balloon to sent as text, very convienient if you know someone is without internet while you have.
But now if I tap the balloon it give me the option to copy or more, the more option only allows me to delete te message.
I solved it this time to turn off my wifi but that not a quick solution
So what happened to the option to sent as text?????Hello leoni04
To send as a SMS just double tap the message if it fails to send out as an iMessage.
Send and receive messages

Airplane mode on. iMessage sent as text message
I believe that this is a drastic oversight by Apple, that I noticed as recently as 1 year ago.
When I travel abroad, I turn Airplane mode on, which SHOULD disable any cellular network/service no matter what. I turn on WiFi so that I can still use iMessage. BUT when the iMessage recipient is unable to receive a message (for whatever reason), the message is sent as a text message and I get charged for an international text message by my cell carrier (ATT).
I realize that I can fix this by turning off the "Send as SMS" option in the Messages preferences, but this should not matter! Airplane mode is on, which should mean that I am safe from cell carrier charges, no matter what. This is not the case!!!What's odd though is I have several contacts where this happens. One other thing I don't understand though is let's say the iPhone wants to send it as a text but i send it from the computer where it can only iMessage. If my friend can't get iMessages at that time will my iMessage from the computer eventually get delivered?
It seems once my iPhone starts sending iMessages as texts to certain contacts it takes it a while to revert back. If I were to turn off the send as SMS option and iMessage wern't available would it eventually go thru? -
I sent a friend an iMessage but it was sent as a text instread. What I don't understand is I sent that same message thru the Messages app on my Mac and the friend recieved it on his iPhone as an iMessage. So I seem to be able to communicate with him thru the Mac messages but when I use my phone it goes as a text.
Other friends with iPhones I can iMessage just fine.
I know iMessage requires wifi but I assume my wifi is ok if I can Imessage other people and my friend's must be ok as ge gets the iMessages I send from the computer. I just can't figure out why when I use my phone it goes as a text. What's odd though is I have several contacts where this happens. Speach to text for Instant Messaging with Skype?
I posted the following in the Windows Phone Ideas area. I can't believe that Microsoft has not included this functionality already.
Skype needs to add speach to text functionality on the Windows Phone platform. We had this capability in Messenger but with the release of Windows Phone 8.1 that app/feature has finally been retired and Skype doesn't have this functionality yet although we can use it in the messaging (SMS) and mail applications (and a number of other applications including third party ones).
Speach recognition is built into the OS so this should not be difficult to add especially since Microsoft has already done this for other applications.
ScottSkype's lack of speech recognition definitely keeps it from being a premier product. It is now only mediocre. Skype was once leading. Now it is lagging behind.
In the next six months we should begin to see every text entry app starting to offer voice recognition and speech to text. -
TS2755 iMessage crashing when texting only ONE specific number?!
OMG!!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For some reason my iPhone 5S messages is crashing when i try to text only ONE phone number!!!!!!!!! Then i even tried erasing his number, starting over, deleting any sign of the phone number in the phone book or recents...creating new contact, messaging without a name, etc!!!!!! and when I go to send the message or even tap on the name/number, it crashes and force closes Messages!!!!!!!! ***???????? Anybody!?Quit the Messages application by double clicking the Home button and swiping up on the Messages thumbnail.
Reset your device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Silver Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Home screen redisplays, see if the issue is resolved.

Symptoms
Learn how to resolve issues with the Messages app on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. You'll learn what you need to send messages using SMS, MMS, and iMessage as well as how to resolve issues with each method.
Resolution
Before you start troubleshooting, learn the difference between SMS, MMS, and iMessage. The first step to resolving an issue with iMessage is to update your iOS software and your carrier settings to the latest versions. If iMessage still has an issue, follow the steps below for your issue.
If you can't activate iMessage with your phone number or Apple ID
See how to troubleshoot iMessage activation. If you're using a China Telecom or au (KDDI) iPhone, you can activate iMessage only on your home network. While traveling internationally, you can't activate iMessage.
If you can't send and receive iMessages
You will need these to send and receive iMessages:
An iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
iOS 5.0 or later
A cellular data connection or a Wi-Fi connection
A phone number or Apple ID registered with iMessage in Settings > Messages
To resolve issues with sending and receiving iMessages, follow these steps
Check iMessage system status for current service issues.
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and make sure that you registered iMessage with your phone number or Apple ID and that you selected iMessage for use. If the phone number or Apple ID isn't available for use, troubleshoot iMessage registration.

If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, delete and recreate the contact in the Contacts app. Create a new message to the newly created contact and try again.
Back up and restore your device as new.
If you aren't receiving iMessages across all iOS devices
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive on each iOS device and make sure that you signed in with your Apple ID. You must use the same Apple ID on each device.
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > You Can Be Reached By iMessage At and make sure that you selected each phone number and email address you want to use with iMessage.
If you linked a phone number to your Apple ID with iMessage and the phone number hasn't appeared, followthese steps.
Sign out of your Apple ID in Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and Settings > FaceTime on all devices.
If you're linking a phone number to an Apple ID, sign in to iMessage on your iPhone first. Then sign in to the rest of your device one by one with iMessage and FaceTime.
If your iMessages didn't transmit as SMS when iMessage was unavailable for use
Go to Settings > Messages > Send as SMS and turn on Send as SMS.
Select your phone number when Sending iMessages in Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > Start New Conversations From.
Make sure that you can send SMS with Settings > iMessage turned off.

Hi,
I am trying to display warning message W899(V1).
For this message, Long text is not maintained in SE91.
Can we display Long text for such messages? My Long text content will be generated in program. So it will not be fixed always.
Thanks in Advance
UmeshUmesh,
899(V1) cannot have a long text as it is dynamically assigned. It takes four text variables and displays them as the message. Because of the dynamic nature of the message, you cannot create one long text explaination for it. Look at the following to illustrate what I am talking about.
MESSAGE W899(V1) WITH 'I am First Message'
'I am Second Message'
'I am Third Message'
'I am Fourth Message'.
Your popup will be displayed as 'I am First Message I am Second Message I am Third Message I am Fourth Message'. Now what long text do you think is suitable for this vs. another message displayed as follows.
MESSAGE W899(V1) WITH 'You have Entered wrong values.'
'See long text for an explanation.'
'Correct the value'
'and rerun'.
Now here it makes sense to have some long text, but since you are using a message id, you cannot do. If you add long text based on the second message, then it will be applicable to first one also, where it will not make sense.
Use function module HELP_OBJECT_SHOW. See program DEMO_DYNPRO_F1_HELP for the usage of this function module. -
Changing message text for short dumps
Hi, we have users running open transactions and finally core dumps with message:
TSV_TNEW_PAGE_ALLOC_FAILED
Short text
No more storage space available for extending an internal table.
What happened?
You attempted to extend an internal table, but the required space was
not available.
Is there a way to customize the message a bit to give more helpful information?
Thanks,
Jonathan.Jonathan,
I am not an expert in BASIS, so I cannot say if it is possible to change the texts for these messages. I am a bit surprised that you think " No more storage space available for extending an internal table" is not adequate. In addition, I am a more than a bit surprised that you are implicitly expecting to get dumps, so much so that you want to make the messages more user-friendly.
Runtime errors are not a tool to remind users that they have performed an impermissable activity. When a dump occurs, you pray that SAP will properly roll back all data to a consistant, pre-error state. I assure you, that this will not always happen in a complex environment. A runtime error is normally considered a very serious event. In most companies, it is the goal to never have a runtime error, and someone is usually charged with running these down and eliminating them. And that 'someone' is not a user.
Anyhow, you might want to try one of the many ABAP forums, one of the experts there may be able to assist you in changing these texts.
Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance,

Default Standard Text Key or Standard Text to first Operation of Order
I would like to have a standard text key or standard text defaulted for the first operation of an order created via IW31 of certain order type.
For example we have an order type called CORR for corrective orders. When ever there is a break fix, the user would create a CORR order via IW31. When this order type is used I want the first operation to have a predefined Standard text key defaulted. In this case we was our first operation to have a safety message and precautions listed.
This would work similar to a planned order that calls from a task list and has text in the task list.
I did some review and testing of the "Assign Standard Texts for Short Messages to Order Types", but as I understand it, this only works for sending message and not including text on the operation.
Is what I want to do possible? Or would it make more sense to use an exit like IWO10020, Maintenance order: Automatically include task list . I guess I could create a general task list and use that in this exit for all CORR order types.

Edited by: Darrell Dorsey on May 25, 2010 10:30 AMFor the scenario that you are referring to, i believe this would be the option that would be flexible. Yes, you will have to little bit of custom development for this and i don't see any standard functionality to default the standard text on the first operation for specific order types. You should be able to attach a task list where its planning plant differs with that of the Order plant.
There are much more simpler options available, if you are open to using a different work center(You could default the Standard text key on the work center), if you are open to create a separate transaction for this order type (you could default the Standard text by creating a transaction variant through SHDO), If you are using GuiXT widely in your organization you could write a small simple script to default the Standard text for this order type.

How Display Standard Help for a Message?
I have a program that executes a Call Transaction. When it returns an error message, I write the message to a report.
I would like to define a hotspot on the report so that the user can click on the message and get the standard long text for the message. This would be equivalent to the result you get when you click on a message at the bottom of a screen.
Is there a standard function module that would provide this feature?Check This FM DOCU_CALL
