TS2755 in iPhone text messaging, what does the break between messages mean ---------Text Message---------------

In iPhone text messaging, what does it mean when you see the following between text messages:   ---------------Test Message---------------?  Does it mean that messages were lost or not delivered, or was there an interruption in service, or what?

I'm thinking you meant Text Message, not Test Message.
The separation is only to separate SMS or text messages from iMessage.

Open AirPort Utility, the application that you used to configure the AirPort Express and click Manual Setup.
Click directly on the word "Status" (2nd line) and a window will open to tell you why the Express is complaining. What is the message?
It might be a notification that an update is available for your Express.

  • HP Media Center model numbers, what does the letters and numbers mean?

Does anyone know what the model numbers of the HP Media Center Computers mean?  What does the 'm' at the beginning of the model number mean and what does the 'n' at the end mean?  How do they come up with the numbers and do they have any special significance? I have a HP Media Center m7658n.  I am looking for a motherboard to replace my original but the clostest one I can find is a HP PAVILION MEDIA CENTER M7480CH-A M7560A MOTHERBOARD.  Does the 7560 mean it's of lesser quality than the original and what is the difference between the 'a' and the 'n' at the end of the model number?

    paullevy,
Can I ask why you want a replacement board?
The "m" means Media Center. The "n" denotes US and Canada.   In the 7560, the "a" is New Zealand.
Your board is a Leucite,   Specs here   googled
If you were to purchase the wrong board, your OEM Windows will cease to be 'activated'.

  • What does the yellow "other" category mean when syncing my iPhone

i am trying to sync my iPhone with my itunes on my computer.  there is not enough space to sync my iphone.  i know i can limit the amount of music i sync but i don't understand what the yellow "other" category means and it is taking up a lot of space.  please help if you know what that means

It represents something that iTunes doesn't recognize as music, videos, books, podcasts, etc.  Normally, the "other" is limited to a few hundred MBs (operating system, app data, etc).  If it grows to a GB or more, it probably indicates corrupted data from an interrupted sync.  Sometimes adding a new song or app will clear up the problem.  You can always restore from your backup to regain a normal amount of "other".
Note:  During a sync, you'll see the "other" bar grow and shrink.  It doesn't mean anything until the sync is finished.

  • HT2523 What is the difference between Pages and Text Edit? Pros and Cons?

I just purchased a Macbook Pro, and I am currently exploring its features. I see that it comes with Text Edit, which seems to be its form of Microsoft Word...but I also know that you can purchase "Pages" for the computer. What is the difference? Pros and cons of each? I will be a freshman in college in the fall, so I need something that I can do lots of writing and editing on.

TextEdit is a simple basic text editor. Far from what MS Word can do. This is Pages:

  • What does the bit depth symbol mean (*, #,..)?

In the title bar of the image in PS (CS3 on Vista 32b, in my case) it is indicated what "mode" the picture is in (Image>Mode), eg for an RGB picture with 16 bit color depth it says "[file name] @ [scaling] (RGB/16)".
The bit depth can be followed by various symbols. I have seen for example:
    (RGB/16*)
    (RGB/8#)
What do those symbols (*, #,...) mean?

They have to do with color profiles, not bit depth.
    http://www.earthboundlight.com/phototips/photoshop-pound-sign-asterik-title-bar.html
i "If you see an asterisk (*), it means your image is in a color profile other than your working space default...If instead you see a pound sign (number sign, #), it means your image has no color profile associated with it."

  • What does the Mac App store mean for existing users of Aperture?

I was wondering how the Mac App store will affect existing users of the software. I have purchased Aperture and upgrades since its launch but because I've not purchased through the App store, how will I gain access to future upgrades?
When I go to the Aperture app in the store it shows as being installed but as I've not purchased it through the store, will I be eligible for future upgrades or will Apple expect me to purchase again?

There is no way Apple can update Aperture 3 without offering that update to every user, regardless of where the app was purchased. So, expect that Aperture 3.1.2 or whatever will be available to you in some fashion.
When the next paid Upgrade (to Aperture 4?) comes along, then we'll have to see what arrangements the offer.
    Regards
    TD

  • What does the spinning color wheel mean?

Have been getting a spinning color wheel alot lately, is this a problem?

Launch the Activity Monitor application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ If you’re running Mac OS X 10.7 or later, open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Activity Monitor in the page that opens.
Select the CPU tab. Select All Processes from the popup menu in the toolbar, if not already selected. Click the heading of the % CPU column in the process table to sort the entries by CPU usage. You may have to click it twice to get the highest value at the top. What is it, and what is the process? Also post the values for % User, % System, and % Idle at the bottom of the window.
Now select the System Memory tab. What values are shown in the bottom part of the window for Page outs and Swap used?
