iOS 5.1.1 is the most recent version for the 1st generation iPad, so you have got this iPad. You cannot install apps that require iOS 6 or later because you cannot install a later iOS version.

My iMessaging will not work and I have called AT&T and tried everything recommended. Everything sends as text messages although iMessage is turned on. In a group message my iMessaging works but nobody else can see it because their messages say text?

As far as I know, all iPhones have to be able to get SMS text messages to activate iMessage.

My imessage will not work. I have my apple id signed in with it, but when i try to text my friends (who have imessage) it says that they are not registered when they really are. I tried turning my iMessage off and it still won't work. I turned off my iPod over all and tried to get a friend to message me, but she said that it said tht I was not registered to iMessage, but I am.

You can't fix it, it's probably just a server issue on Apple's side.
All you can do is wait for them to fix it.

Try tapping Settings > FaceTime, turning FaceTime Off, editing the Apple ID associated with FaceTime, and then turning it back on.

Fact Time and iMessage will not work on

Face Time will not verify my emails and phone number on my iMac. Face Time is working on my iPad 2 and iPhone 5. All were working fine up until 2 days ago. I tried to Face Time on my iMac and I had to login and verify. Verify would just spin, spin, spin. iMessage will not work on the iMac as well. Same thing, was working fine up until Face Time quit functioning. All devices have been working on the same router/Wi-Fi. My operating system is Mavericks. Have had no problems until now. HELP!

TS2755 I updated my Iphone 4 to the latest os 7 now my imessages will not work. I tried to back up my phone using the cloud but it said it would take 38 hours. This does not feel right to me.

My imessages worked on minute and the next it would stop working so I updated to ios7. Now it does not work at all. Now I am unable to do any back up on this phone. What else can I try?

Burrning-Bunny I have tried that I even went to the Apple store and they told me to reset my password and try again, but that did not work. I reset the time and date, tried to refresh settings. getting frustrated to say the least.

TS2755 Group iMessage is not working after upgrading to ios 7.

When creating a group chat using iMessage with ios 7 or 7.0.2 When you send a message each person gets the text as an individual text and when they reply back it comes back as an individual text not in the group chat as it did in the previous ios versions before 7.0.

What this means is simply, at least one person in the group chat's iMessages isn't working, or hasn't activated. When this happens the message (depending on your settings) sends as an SMS instead, hence for the recipient it looks like it was sent from only one person and not s part of a group.
You need to check through each recipient, add them one by one to an iMessage group (or send them individual messages), and if it turns green when you've added someone then their iMessages isn't currenlty working.
The upgrade to iOS7 has broken iMessags connection/activation for some users. There are ways to try to fix it by switching iMessages on and off, or resetting your network settings. Often these work, and sometimes it takes a day to activate. Apple have just announced that they are working on a fix for this right now.

Hi there,
I'm new to iphone and need help with imessage. I can imessage and face time my wife, although it's always a blue bubble wether I'm on wifi or not. My brothers has an iphone which will imessage sometimes but will never connect for face time.
Is imessage spouse to work only when both phones are in wifi? Is there any way to force it into an imessage rather then SMS? Vodafone nz have told me that every time I turn it off and on again, I am charged. Is that normal?
I've tried that anyway, I've tried rebooting the phone, it just does what it wants all the time.

1. Both devices have to be running iOS 5.*
2. Internet latency can delay iMessage connection. If you enabled "Send as SMS", the phone will switch to SMS if iMessage doesn't connect quickly. If you disable Send as SMS, more of your messages will go through as iMessage.

Elements 10 install will not work from CD

1st install was not complete-would not work. Uninstalled completely, even regedit.-no trace left. rebooted of course. but it will not install. it wants to uninstall non-existing elements 10.

Any chance that you backed up your registry prior to manually editing it? If so please do so.

IMessages will not work. red exclamation now i cant sign in.

iMessages was working fine but now for about a week it just stopped.
At first i would try to send a message and it would have a red exclamtion saying that person isnt set up for imessage.
Everyone works fine on my iphone 5S
Now i get "Could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again."
i cant delete or add my account with the + or -
i reset keychains. the internet. disconnected. signed in and out on my iphone.

FireFox will not work from a first time install

Question
Loaded firefox for the first time, installation complete, icon on desktop, program tries to open when clicked as the hourglass icon is visible for a moment, then nothing happens. I watch the process tree, firefox is visible for a moment then disappears, followed by drwtsn32 momentarily.

I called the state's technical support and was informed:
1) That it is a hit or miss possibility for Safari and Firefox to work properly with this site; and,
2) That the site is optimized to operate with Internet Explorer for Windows.
There is your answer. Many US Government sites are the same - they simply WILL NOT follow the necessary web standards to make them Apple and/or Safari compliant.
The only thing you can try is to go to Safari's Develop Menu and try using Internet Explorer as the User Agent.
