Is it possible to receive a text msg from someone, even though they didn't send it? Is this a possible security issue.

Highly unlikely to be a security issue. Likely a mixup when transferred from one carrier to another or somewhere along the line.

Can't receive text msgs from other carriers

My carrier is Verizon, and I'm able to receive text msgs from other Verizon carriers. But my problem is that I can't receive text messages from other carriers, such as Tmobile. They can receive my text messages though. I have tried restarting, shutting down and reopening the phone. I've tried calling support, and I logged a ticket. Any idea what to do?

I would let Verizon follow up on the ticket you opened with them. Does the incoming text never show up at all? Were you ever a customer of another wireless company and either migrated to Verizon or bought out by Verizon (such as Alltel)? Were you able to get texts on your last phone or is this your first Verizon phone?

The only way to retrieve a deleted text message would be to restore a backup created after the message was sent but prior to the message being deleted.
There may be programs that can extract this information directly from the backup files themselves, google for possible solutions.

I claim my OS X Mountain Lion but they never sent me the code

I bought my macbook pro in july 7th in the new york 5th avenue store and i claimed my mountain lion copy yesterday around mid day but they never sent me my code also when I was applying for the upgrade the webpage didn't ask me to scan my receipt or nothing, I have my claim number but what can i do with it?

You must have Office 2004 which is a PPC-only suite and will not work in Lion. You need to upgrade to Office 2011 - Mactopia - or you can try the freeware suite, Libre Office, that is functionally similar to Office 2007 for Windows except it works on Lion.

Of particular use in your case:
What should I do if I don't remember the answers to my Apple ID security questions?
Try answering them at least once to see if you can get them right, even if you are not sure you remember the answers to your security questions.
If you are confident you can't remember them, try one of the following:
If you have three security questions and a rescue email address
sign in to My Apple ID and select the Password and Security tab to send an email to your rescue email address to reset your security questions and answers.
If you have one security question and you know your Apple ID passwordsign in to My Apple ID and select the Password and Security tab to reset your security question.
If you have one security question, but don't remember your Apple ID password
contact Apple Support for assistance. Learn more about creating a temporary support PIN to help Apple confirm your identity when you contact Apple Support.

Jackie, this usually happens when the number that was texting you was blocked or unavailable. The billing system uses your own number as sort of a placeholder. It could be another reason, but as far as I know, that's the reason.

Hi, I have had this issue for weeks. I have been trying to find a solution through t-mobile but so far I still can't receive text messages from Iphone users. It is across the board. I know about 5 people with Iphones and I can't get text messages from any of them. Does anyone know why? By the way, they all can receive my text msgs, no problem, but I can't receive theirs. Is it because I don't have internet service on my blackberry? But my friend who has an old Nokia phone with no internet capability receives texts from Iphone users, no problem?? Please help.

Sounds like you are on the right track. But dealing with carriers is, well, frustrating at best. And inconsistent. If you get a CSR that says they can do nothing. Hang up and call back...until you get someone who can really help.
And maybe try different paths into support -- for instance, on the BIS login page for VZW, there is a number listed there that is different than any other of their support numbers. I had a problem with BIS once, called there and they got it fixed within 5 minutes. My account rep and other CSR's had been telling me that there was nothing they could do. So persistence wins out.

Need help to retrieve text msgs from an unbacked up 3GS

My daughter upgraded her iPhone from a 3GS to a 4S. She didn't back up the 3GS and needs to retrieve text messages from the old phone. Is that possible? What if we had the carrier switch her number back to the 3GS, would that give her access to the texts?

Unfortunately she never backed up the phone. Wouldn't the old texts still be on the old 3GS but not displayed because the 3GS isn't associated with that particular phone number? If they are stored on the 3GS would simply transfering the old phone number back to the 3GS solve the dilemma? Then I could do a backup of the old phone and put the texts on the 4S. Let me know what you think.

I REALLY wish VZN would include some base FREE Text Messaging as part of all these changes coming up to their plans and ICS .. Something like 25 Free Text Msgs per month ... Reason being is that I have Unlimited Data right now (not using more than 1GB per month) and no Texting Plan ... so I get nickled & dimed by SPAM Texts that I get every month. Was this the same computer that you backed up to in the past? Do you have an iCloud backup? Have you tried restoring the backup using iTunes?

TS3276 Mail Delivery Failure Msgs for emails I Never Sent

On Feb 7 I received 37 Mail Delivery Failure messages, but I never sent any of these emails. I was not even on my Time Warner email account that day. This is a recurring issue. Any suggestions?
