TS2771 Apps won't stay open

Several of my apps on my 2nd gen iPod touch will only open for a split second before closing again,
Yet, others work fine. Any solutions?
(Maybe it's jealous I just got a new iPod touch running iOS 5.1.- I wanted the camera/scanner.)

Have you tried a hard reset yet? To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
If that doesn't work, try downloading another free app from the App Store. This has been known to resolve the issue for a number of users.

After updating with the new update for the iPad I updated my nook app. Now my nook app won't stay open. I've restarted my iPad multiple times and tried it with and without wifi still won't stay open.

I suggest trying the update again after an hour or two. Sometimes, the notice that an update is available comes an hour or two before the developers actually sends the revised app out to be downloaded.

Movie mansion app won't stay open

I've used Movie Mansion App for alon time, but now when i open it it closes right away. It just won't stay open to use it. Can any body help me?

Mine is doing the same thing and I have not been able to figure out why.....I'm starting to think its a site/developer problem like they possibly got shut down or something. But if anyone has any other information please post lol im going through movie mansion withdraws

Autodance/JustDance3 App won't stay open on iPhone 4S

Hi. I have tried the two "fixes" as recommended by others on this site: 1) resetting my iPhone 4S (three times) and 2) I have also downloaded a new free app. Neither of those have fixed the problem. It only seems to be the Just Dance 3/Autodance app that won't stay open but I don't want to lose all my dancing videos on there as they cannot be recreated Please help me I've had the 4S from November 2011. I assume that if I delete the app and reinstall it that will delete all of my videos? I can't see another way to get the videos off the iPhone and on to my laptop. Very upset!

Yes, have also contacted the app developer - no response as yet I can't seem to access ratings and reviews on iTunes on my laptop. I can't get on to the app store on my iphone currently as poor 3G signal :/
From memory I think it has 5* reviews though. I hope someone has a fix for this.
Do you know where the videos created are stored on the iPhone and if there is anyway to get them off and onto my laptop?

IPad (first generation) - apps won't stay open

My 1st generation ipad is quickly losing battery power, even when turned off. Also apps will not stay open. Is this common?

Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
If that doesn't help, restore the iPad > iTunes: Restoring iOS software
If nothing helped, it may be time to take your iPad in for service > Apple - Find Locations

Mail app won't stay open and keeps crashing

I use iPhone 7.1. Every time I open my Mail app, it crashes. I don't know why.
I have maybe 700,000 unread emails, fourteen different email accounts (8 Gmails, 2 iClouds, 2 Gmx's, and 2 AOLs, all of which are linked together through my Mail app), over 16,000 photos, and 0 bytes of free space left on my phone.
I've had my phone since 23 May 2013.
I bought it off Amazon for $161.
How can I get my Mail app to work again? Whenever I open the Mail app, it stays open for about 60 seconds, then a black screen appears, and the Mail app crashes.

If you are having issues with your iPhone's Mail application becoming unresponsive, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
Force an app to close in iOS
Next, I would try restarting and if needed resetting the iPhone -
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPhone as a new device -
How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups

Installed 8.1.3. The Fitness Pal app won't stay opened. I click on the icon, it opens then closes without allowing me to enter my input.

installed update 8.1.3 to my iPad and iPhone. As usual, I'm trying to access Fitness Pal app to enter data On to the iPad. The. App opens briefly then closes immediately before I can enter the data.

Try to force close the app
Double tap the home button. When you see the app previews on the screen scroll sideways if needed to get the preview in question on the screen. Flick that preview up and off the screen to close the app. Single tap the home button or home screen preview to exit the mode.
If that doesn't work. Delete it and reset your device.
Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds. When you see the silver apple, let go and let it reboot. No data will be lost.
Then go back to the app store and your purchased items and redownload and reinstall the app.
If it still doesn't work, check out the reviews for the app. Sometimes an update can break an app. And, unfortunately, the burden is on the app developer to keep their app working with Apple. If you look at the reviews - change the sort from most helpful to most recent- you can get an idea if others are having issues. If they are and if the update has broken the app, then you have to wait for My Fitness Pal to fix their app.

Apps won't stay open

I have been downloading apps to my iPhone without any problems. The after downloading ibowling, which will still open fine, most of my other apps will not work. I click on an icon, the open screen for the app opens and then with about 10 second it closes again. Any advice...anyone ever encounter this problem...thanks Frank

IPod app won't stay open

I keep trying to open app and it just keeps crashing. I have tried shutting iPad down and re starting and neither are working. Any suggestions?

Try resetting your iPad.
Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
If that didn't make a difference, turn iPad off, and then turn it on again. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until a red slider appears, don't drag the slider, instead press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

Some Apps Won't stay open

When I open Android Market it will open for a split second, then goes back to the homepage. The same thing happens with Flixster and Slacker Radio. Other apps work fine. I've tried uninstalling Flixster and Slacker and reinstalling but that didn't help. Does anyone have ideas how to fix this?

I had someone update my iPad and all of a sudden after the update when I open my apps they shut down right away? How do I get them to open??

Pandora app won't stay open on ipad-why?

When I updated Pandora app, it started closing app each time I click the app. What do I do to get Pandora back to work?

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray before doing the reset.

If the iTunes app is quitting unexpectedly, first make sure you've restarted/reset your iPhone:

I purchased a book from but it won't stay open. I have rebooted as recommended.

I purchased a travel book on my IPAD in IBOOK. It won't stay open. I have tried to reboot the device. That gets me into the book but I am still unable to read more than a page or two. Any suggestions?

Have you tried deleting the book and re-downloading it ? And do your other books still open ok ?
Another thing to try if that doesn't work is to close the iBooks app completely and see if you can then read that book when you re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with iBooks 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the iBooks app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
